The point is, that this is not a feature to limit overclocks, but rather to just keep the chip within operating limits at stock speeds. Asus, for some reason, decided that it will apply this policy on users that aren't Intel's focus. This isn't like a major update, I would imagine memory compatibility is about 10x as complicated to fix as a simple multiplier switch triggered by a tdp ceiling. I'm only going to be patient for so long, if Asus doesn't even acknowledge this issue, then I will exchange this board for a dfi or evga one before my 30 day return limit on newegg...
