Thanks - no that's the lowest stable vcore for prime!

Sounds like you have a C0.

Buy an E0 and sell your C0.

Ebay is a great place to unload a stock working e8400, and ocassionally a good place to pick up a decent overclocker too if there are none floating around the forums...

Found a faster chip but it sure runs hotter!
I bought this E8400 chip from YMAA a while back (bottom of page 199 of this post).
E8400 E0, batch Q826A399, week 08/13/08

Didn't get around playing around with it for a while, but I can see why he runs on water - this chip is quite a hothead!
Don't think I'll go any higher than 4.5ghz on air as the temps in the pic are with a TRUE!
I know he got 4.6-4.7ghz stable F@H but I'm on air.
Nice Everest scores when paired with 2x2gb G.Skill DDR2 1200's, huh?

try 4.6 1.38-1.4v it wont get much hotter

Tried 1.36v crashed orthos 2 min, idle 47c and hit 74c within that time....my air cooling can't handle it!
But at 530fsb @ 4.5ghz with the ram at it's upper limits I'm good =).

Buy an i3 540 and decent ram.
