September != summer. we need a drop the ball smiley
Technically it is still summer, the autumnal equinox is on the 22nd.:D
woo woo paper launch! Now we can get some solid info on these bad boys :D
There restructioning has taken a Toll, Hope they release somethinng.
so Barcelona will be in shops on 11 September eh?
hope they play the terrorists role this time ;)
anywaym does anyone knows when do the AM2+ and socketF+ boards get launched?
I think only god known the answers to you questions
Maybe the launch of Barcelona will finally trigger the barrage of Phenom benchies and stuff like that we've been waiting for :yepp:
only a month to go and we know very little performance wise cant wait for someone to get hold of these. so i can go ahead and build something
AFAIK Crysis is out in november i will have a new pc for it i just hope that amd comes to play in time
Barcelona launched at 10.9 will be ONLY server chip at 2GHz ... who wants this slowly toy? For desktop, Phenoms for normal use we will wait 2-3 months, for sure to Q1/08!
I talked with my AMD source today, and he told me : first platform whats you get for testing will be dual FX mobo with RD790 chipset ..., nothing before ... no server mobo + Opteron with Barcelona core ... first CPUs for Reviews will be Wahoo mobo with two FX Phenoms late in October ...
Does that mean that the 680a QuadFX board won't be compatible?Quote:

Who knows? But it is not good deal, use K10 on old chipset, performance will be worst then on RD790 ... because new chipset has HT 3.0.
My birthday :D
suicide attack ;)unless HT 3.0 is like AGP 8x->PCI-e x16. if the bus is already bigger than it needs to be there'll be no performance improvement from making it wider. if the memory controller was on the northbridge then a wider HT link would be great, but i doubt it'll make a difference on single processor systems. the only thing i'd worry about is whether the split power planes on AM2+ boards vs the single power plane on AM2 will have any effect on overclocking
for 1S HT3.0 is worth :banana::banana::banana::banana:
I've got the popcorn ready, this better not turn out to be another "Date Movie" AMD
just found it on the piostar page, it seems to be a HT1 board with split power planes:
t-force 560 A2+
HT1 with regular pwm, i don't get it.
