sexy looking board.
I thing this board rock solid !!!
well if that's the case it will put Abit in a very strong position for overclockers, as long as the power circuit is double engineered above overclocked power draw of quad, we need to see circuits that can handle upto 280-300 amps (that would be comfortable even for the LN2 guys), reducing failures long term, giving steady power to those wanting stable clocks for benching or even gaming rigs. Considering the price tags of 'enthusiast' boards and the fact that digital IC's are actually more expensive it's certainly doable at reasonable cost with analogue, even digital with some effort..
Let's see what they can do..

October 31st, 2006. This is when I bought my AW9D.

A few weeks later I got my QX6700. ABIT advertised that the AW9D series were "Quad core ready" (bull****)
April 18th, 2007. This is when ABIT decided to fully support the QX6700 on this board. That's 6 months later. In the IT world, 6 months can be a generation of a processor type, or a new technology. For ABIT, it was the time needed for the skilled engineers to write a working BIOS.
Notice the plethora of BIOS releases, for the company's flagship board for half a year: all 3 of them...

Inbetween, there was a parade of mediocre fsb overclocking, not working multiplier overclocking, and a Hell on Earth when trying to install Vista on a Quad Core + AW9D combo.
And you are saying that we should email ABIT to get their bugs fixed? I know I did, multiple times, as well as many others.
But hey, it's almost June 2007 now, P35 and DDR3 are on the shelves, X38 and Penryn are just around the corner and ABIT now fully supports the QX6700 on AW9D.
Good job ABIT!
^ ^Errr well does that mean Abit can expect some more of your hard earned soon/in the not too distant future Chosen :ROTF:
I'm facking sure they wont be seeing any of mine
What you cant wait till Computex ? :D
June 5-9th before that I can't say anything, NDA and what not.
damned, those boards look pretty slick...but i'm curious to those X38's too...
Only the IP35-Pro has PCIe x 4 slot. Thats the one for me.
Officially yes, but I had this beta bios when I had my AW9D-Max just after christmas:- Abit AW9D Beta Bios Fix for Kentsfield! - 6th January 2007
They do but they may not have the same priority for things that you want as you do.
I seem to recall a post from Tony at OCZ (re. the ATI chipset mobos) & how much it would actually cost to have the ideal mobo that the XS community wanted & basically it was a non-starter commercially.
There does also seem to be a difference imo between the Abit of a few years ago & the current Universal abit.
Putting a post on the US forum (user-to user) is not the same as letting abit Tw know esp. as from what I hear most of the engineers don't speak English or at least too well & hence don't read the forum.Quote:
Some OC performance :

Nice results, ABIT FTW!
Looking good.
Any bugs so far?
sweet, i wonder how the strap performs.
whats the highest cpu speed you can get on stock multi?
