i have been taking a differant route to 3.7 using the 13x so this is why i am interested in your 1 m for this Mhz

Time is not good because I was using SPD timings, something like 5-6-6-15. :)

Took me about two minutes to get to 3.7GHz after installing the CPU. After that, I looked for a good speed to crunch WU's. I got this chip mainly for folding.

my interest is in the method fsb or higher multi weather there will be much of a differance

You would need to run a longer test like 32M to see any real differences.

FSB definitely makes a difference in Cinebench which is a multi-threaded benchmark. Higher FSB will give a higher score. I found that out several months ago when I had another quad-core (no longer in my possession).

IMO the P5B Dlx is the best board for Kentsfield, especially if you want high FSB.

I do not have any screenshot of superpi with 12*310(3725MHz) but my time was 13.485s with no otimizations done. I think my RAMs where at 4-4-3-10 but I cannot recall my divider. ;)

Heat will also affect Pi times, especially with Kentsfield. I think I was using too much VCore. I will re-run Pi later, after I finish crunching some more WU's.:)

The thing to keep in mind is that the Q6400 will retail for a lot less than the QX6700. And since 8 is the highest multiplier on the Q6400, you would definitely need a board capable of high FSB.

this will be very good to compare the high fsb low multi (8x) v low fsb higher multi (13x)

as with low fsb higher multi (13x) ram timming can be kept tight and 1t

Unfortunately the P5B Dlx does not have the 1T option. But the RAM I'm using will do 3-3-3 @ DDR2-940 with 2.45v. I have an eVGA 680i, but I didn't even bother using it because of the board's FSB limitation with Kentsfield. I tested about six boards with QX6700 awhile back. The P5B was the clear winner IMO, not for maximum speed, but in terms of overall flexibility. Even though I spend more time now folding instead of overclocking, I would die if I was forced to run at 300FSB.

About overvoltage/undervoltage. I can not tell atm, because I have modded my board. But with BIOS 0005 it seems more correct than with the other two BIOS I have tried (witch ever that was... hrm). If I recall right one was overvolting and the other undervolting. Can it be so har to fix? :D

With BIOS 0005, when raising the vcore from 1.635 to 1.65 the voltage droops like a stone. I think it falls with about 0.125v... I have not found any more strange things about the voltage yet. I have heard that over 1.75v often kills the P5WDG2 WS Pro but I have been up to 1.82v so far without problems.

I does not seem to drop under load. I have done the vdrop mod but I have not touched the potentiometer. Even before the vdrop mod i think it was pretty stable.

The 'biggest' issue for me at the moment is that I can not get clockgen to work with my motherboard. It only works 'halfway' (great english!). AIBooster have some life of it owns so sometimes it drops voltages even when untouched.

About 3DMark06: Again you have higher clock than I have at my current screenshots. But even if we had the same cpu speed I think that it is the fact that you have the B3 and/or the fact that you can get higher FSB on the P5B that makes yours perform so much better. Max FSB for me is 318MHz "stable".
You get 550 cpu points more than me with a 180MHz higher clock.

I saw that you've tested both ASUS P5B-E Plus and P5B Deluxe, do you think that P5B Deluxe is better than P5B-E Plus?

I mean, on Conroe P5B-E Plus seem to fly with FSB and general OC, maybe the 8 phase of P5B Deluxe help with Kentsfield?
