i have the sparkle spag43(6600), but, i dont overclock my 6600 because there is a nvidia bug that report my 6600 at the default frequency..
sorry... my english is very bad..
i use the pencil for the r87 mod..
my 6600 now work @580-670...but when i select over the 670(memory) this board crash and reselect the default frequency! please helpme!vmem is 2,58...

670 for memory is ok.you can attach heatsinks for memory modules to improve cooling and maybe you can rise a little the memory clock.I can not do more than 680 with heatsinks.As you can see we didn't fint yet the volt mod for memory but still trying.
I hope you replaced the GPU stock cooler before volt mod and that you have temperature monitoring activated in the bios.
just don't overclock to much and you will not have resets and throttling.make sure you have good cooling on both GPU and memory and wait till a memory volt mod shows up.
you must know that pencil mod vanish after a while and you will see texture coruption or artifacts when voltage is not enogh for the clock you running.
search on italian forums,maybe you can find something about memory voltage mod and you can help us.

in 3dmark 2005 my score is 3330 pti...
i use the revoltech heatsinks...and with a external sensor i see that the gpu in overload the gpu dont go over 58°c... i build an artigianal cooler for the gpu...
but...i have a great problem with the memory...
at 540/670 are artifactfree.... i can play and bench...
but the mem...hynix 3,3ns dont go over 670 for the software...but 700 is very nearly!i need the vmod!!! :cool:
I need the volt mod too.But we can only wait.nodak is our only chance since I don't know electronics.Your 3Dmark 2005 score is very good.I can not do more than 3200 even at 600/680 volt modded.So be patient!

It's a voltmodding guide of Sparkle 6600 AGP 128Mb by golos2.
The result is impressive - 614/803 and 8272 03'3DMarks. I also have such 6600, now it is running at 570/660 (no mods, just Titan CuD5Tb heatsink on GPU), and I tried to increase memory timings. It gave me 760MHz (+100MHz DDR accurately :)), but perfomance stayed at the same level. Now I want to make heatsinks for memory chips and get 800MHz with this Vmod.
And if you have troubles with Russian language, I can translate some words.
First, comments on the main Vmod photo:
Green arrows - points of measurement (positive, Ground u can take where you like):
upper - memory
lower - GPU
Variable resistors:
For memory:
100kOhms, large black resistor
For GPU:
10kOhms, small metallic one.
Two other yellow arrows showing ground wires of the MOLEX connector.

Didn't take time to study the mod but I will.I'm a little scared cause I'm not ready for soldering on my card and void warranty.

As you probably saw,nodak found a pencil trick mod for GPU wich works very fine.I can do 600Mhz when voltmoding to about 1.55V.
Problem is the memory on this card.I go now at 680Mhz,but I need more.
I can tell you that I get about 3200 in 3DMark 2005 at 595/680.
It was great to let us know about this voltmod.I don't have news from nodak in the last days,but I think he will be happy too.

A thai guy claims that he modded a bios for higher voltage in Leadtek6600 card.
I asked him to post the bios but he says that is testing.For me is strange because NiBiTor does not show voltage in bios for 6600nonGT cards.

But as for me, I don't like pencil-tricks. This method is a way to check out overclocking abilities of a card, but it's usually terribly unstable in daily use. Once I had unlocked 256K hidden cache on Throton CPU with a pencil trick. I saw some problems with proper detecting of this CPU - 50/50 Thorton or Barton, as it like to do. This bug was successfully fixed with soldering contacts of bridge.
By the way, if a mod is carefully made, you can easilly remove all wires and warranty will not be void. ;)
P.S. Today I had made temperature monitoring trick in BIOS, with CuD5TB heatsink it shows 58*C max @ 570MHz after 3-4 loops of 3DMark or 1-2 hrs gaming HL2. Probably, I'll change this heatsink for smth more serious, for example, IceHammer 3600SC. I want to keep temperature in 50-55*C degrees limit after Vmod.
What's about memory timings? Could someone give a description of them? I don't want to change them without understanding. I found several sets of timings, and they allowed me to increase frequency, but perfomance right the same, maybe because the timings are too low.
I tried:

Memory timmings for 6600nonGT cards seems to be the fastest in the Geforce 6 series.DDR3 cards have more relaxed timmings.I tried and other people tried too,but there is no performance increase if use slower timmings and rise the clock a little.
I use in my computer DDR400 at 333MHz but with timmings 2-2-2-6 and they give better performance this way.
You can find a lot of bioses at mvktech forum and can make an ideea what memory timmings have the cards in the Geforce 6 series.
The memory mod ,as I can see, could be done with a single solder,the other wire from the variable rezistor could be connected directly in the Molex connector.I'm not an expert with such a small soldering,and I'm not an expert in electronics.That's why I'd rather go for a bios voltage mod.And indeed pencil trick is not stable,it fades away after a while.
I need little explanation about the memory volt mod.After installing the variable rezistor,wich will be position for the first start?For maximum 100Kohm?And later decrease easy,easy the value?Could it be decreased while card is running or it needs a reeboot for each setting?
As far as I understand, this resistor is for decreasing total resistance between controller (APW7063) pin and GND, that's why you need to set it to the max position before starting. Low resistance (at minimum position it will give 0 Ohms! ;)) can cause shortening of this pin to ground.
Also he had troubles with >600MHz core speed, because this controller have protection: when total power consumtion of the core achieving preseted limit, card shutting down. Fixed by changing 1.2KOhm resistor to 1.6KOhm one, this resistor connected to the pin#7 of APW7063. It's not shown on the photo, this was made some time later.
You can change voltage "on the fly", but under control. Ask someone to measure resulting Vmem.
About single soldering. Yes, you're right. Any ground contacts are suitable, but be careful! Contact should be stable.
And if you'll find BIOS Vmod, let me know please! =) But, IMHO, it's not possible on this card.
The pin for memory mod is pin14?I have no intention to go with extreme voltage - maybe 1.55V for core and 2.8V for memory(2.9V is maximum,isn't it?).
What epoxy used to glue heatsinks on memory modules?In my place can not find any thermal tape.

Use usual thermal grease on almost all memory chip surface and a liiiitle drop of super glue at the corners. This way you'll fix heatsink properly, and the thermal contact will be excellent. But don't use too much glue, or you'll have difficulties with removing heatsinks.
About voltages - I agree with you completely. I see no reason to extremely overvolt my card, this device it not for records in 3DMark. But I want to overclock it to 6600GT perfomance.

I think achieving 6600GT performance is posible.When I use pencil trick for GPU I could rise clock up to 610 at 1.61V.But I got green artifacts,due to poor cooling.Ithink even 595Mhz is enogh for core if a clock of 750 could be achieved for memory.This way,the card will outperform a standard GT(not overclocked).
This card is hungry for memory bandwidth and give all kind of hang-ups when using AA in HL2.This is what I want to achieve.

I can measure memory voltage very easy in the points indicated in some of the pictures in this thread.Wire for memory volt mod will not be a problem.

As i mentioned before, there is no reason to raise Vcore more than 1.6V, and it's good, that protection works with this mod too. And how do you changing timings? I found perfect tool - nTimings - that's for setting timings on the fly.

I got an answer from Mavke at MKVTech and he told to check at Hynix for datasheet of the memory.I can not see what is written on the memory modules because I have heatsinks sticked on them.But as I see we can find informations in these datasheets.Someone post the code of the memory.
Today a installed AMD coller on GPU and I have 58C max at full load.Good temperature!

I tested with 3DMark 2005 at 2.74-2.8-2.84V.I can not do more de 700Mhz artifact free.Card will run even at 750Mhz but full of artifacts and will throttle.
Lowering the frequency,throttling stops but there are still artifacts.
nVidia driver does not accept more than 675Mhz even at 2.84V.
It lools that my memory heatsinks sux.They are sticked with double sided adhezive tape(from factory) wich seems to stop heat transfer not to improve it.
I'm so sad! I hoped that I can do 750Mhz but now I'm not sure anymore even with better coooling.
Tomorrow I will try to do something to improve cooling.

I very much doubt that something can be improved changing the timings.
I can not go more than 700 artifact free.I will try to make some heatsinks out of some old cooler,but now I don't think I can reach even 715 without artifacts.I don't know how others reached 800 but I think is a lie.
Memory is rated 550Mhz at a voltage of 2.5V +/- 5% - wich is a max of 2.75V.
Maybe others are lucky with their memory chips but 800 and even 750 is way to much :confused:
I do not think temps are the problem, I think it maye be that hynix just doesn't grade the chips as they are so cheap, in the past they may have graded them to 3.3ns but now they probably do not get enough profit to actually be bothered doing this so they stick out chips and some people are lucky and hit 750/ 800 with volt mod?! The vast majority, like me and you are not lucky though ! :( :D Which is a shame as these cards are very bandwidth starved.Quote:

Did you use nTimings utility? I think, part of theese timings affects mostly internal setting, not only memory or mem controller. That's why it'll be useful to know more about each parameter. Stock presets of cards are very different from each other. Seems to me, timings is powerful tool for overclocking.Quote:

golos2 increased timings for achieve >750MHz mem freq _with_ Vmod.
I tried the same set and got 750-760MHz without VMod, but perfomance stayed at the same level. It's true and I can send you screenshots.
As for me, I have chosen my 6600 of 5 ones. 4 of them perfectly runs at 540/640, and one - not more than 505-510/630.

From what zakelwe says,I came to the conclusion that my memory is crap -at least compared to others.
Not really crap if it can do 700 instead of 550 but is not enogh for this card.
From what I know,timmings for 6600nonGT are the fastest in the 6serie.

what means-hynix doesn't grade the chips ?they are all the same,doesn't mather if they are 4,3.6,3.3,3 or 2.8?
chips up to 3.6 are rated 2.5V and the others up to 2.8 are rated 2.8V.is difference
I tested all the timings of the geforce 6 serie cards.Actually I found that there are only 4 sets of timings:
6200/6600 - 04090F0D;05010405;20230204
6600GT/6800LE - 060F1B15;09010509;20250407 and 6800GT
6800NU - 060A1311;05010407;00240306
6800Ultra - 0813211B;0A01060A;20270509
These are settings reported by NiBiTor.Ilya what you reported as being you card's setting is just a preset of nTimings written in the ini file(probably used before).
After benchmarking with all these settings in 3DMark 2005,I got a difference in performance of max 0.5%(best for 6800NU).
Something else:looking in the data sheet for Hynix 3.6ns memory and at the timings for 6600 cards,I observed that they are way over specification -I mean the timmings are faster.
Is to be said that slower memory allows faster timings and faster memory allow slower timings.
Now,again,I don't know if is worth giving so much importance to the timings.
I don't care that is posible to rise mem clock if performance increase is almost 0.

Interesting! Have you decoded what the timings mean and/or how to tighten/loosen the timings? THe 6200 with unlocked pipes or 6600 overclocked is extremely bandwidth limited. If you look at the orb at look at the numbers for people with 600+ MHz GPU, you'll notice that the numbers aren't so dramatic since the memory speeds are what are driving the scores/performance. The VDDR mod is well explained in the beginning of this thread, but how do I do a Vcore mod? All the ones explained so far are for the AGP version.
Alright, I performed a memory volt mod, and I got from 710MHz to 730MHz so far. Not much improvement. The odd thing is, I keep turning the 10k VR but it doesn't improve it any. I used the back leg, not the front leg, so I know I have to turn it counter-clockwise. Also, I go to check the voltage on it, and instead of ~2.5v or whatever that memory typically runs at, it reads 1.27. I used this picture for reference:

After all my turning I'm now at 1.3v according to my multimeter (which has to be off). Only a 2% gain.
You have to ask Conrad about your voltmod.He opened this thread about PCI-E cards and we continued with the AGP version.Except for the first page,everything is about AGP card.No user of PCI-E card did replay later.

I am the owner of an Inno3D ( :( ) Geforce 6600 AGP 8x (300Mhz core, 530Mhz mems - Hynix 3.3ns).
I've hurd this card has an under-volted memory. The max frequency I could reach (without artifacts) was 550Mhz :mad: . I get artifacts even at 570. The mems are 3.3ns, that means they could do 600 easy... As I can see in this topic, other guys can go up to 700+ without any problems.
What can I do about this ?
I've tried different BIOSes (i.e. Sparkle, Daytona, Leadtek). The one from Sparkle allowed me to reach 470Mhz for the core (stable), 50Mhz more than unsing my original Inno3D BIOS.
I even tried a 6600GT BIOS (from Inno) :nuts: which I modified using NiBiTor (I changed the frequencyes and the timings) but the image was all scrambled.
It seems to me that I can't modify the voltage for the mems simply using a different BIOS. Damn !
Can anyone send me a detailed vmod (I'm not good at electronics) for the core and mems (I'm more interested in the one for the mems) ?

No,is not that easy to reach 700 for memory.I can do only about 680 without voltmod and no more than 705 with voltmod -artifact free.
You can achieve higher clock by voltmod,better cooling and more relaxed timings edited in NiBiTor(though this last version is a bit confusing).
Don't expect miracles in any of the solution.
As for the voltmod,every brand has a different volt mod depending on the regulator chip.I'm afraid we can not help you,but you need to keep searching over the internet.
Sparkle is such a good overclocker because it has 1.4V for core and 2.6V for memory wich is higher than usual 1.3 - 2.5.Also bios is not so restrictive like others(eg.Leadtek).
GT bios does not work with vanilla 6600 cards.I tested long time ago.And memory voltage is not controled by the bios.
In the last days it was a big debate in MVKTech forums,wheter some modified bioses for 6600 cards will rise voltage.Bioses were modded by some thai guys,but I can tell you that none of them rised vcore on my card.

Seaman is right, the Sparkle BIOS is very good, I used the PNY 6200 BIOS on my 6600 Sparkle and top MHz was about 450 ..put Sparkle 6600 back on and 610 not topped out. This latest Sparkle does 610/740 before vmods. I did the vmods last night ( as worked out by me before the Russians weeks ago..cough :D ) and will test tonight.
Original volts are
GPU
1.39v in 2d Windows, 1.45v in 3D
Memory
2.55v in 2d/3d
Maximum I use is 1.75v in 3d for gpu and 2.95v-3.05v for memory.
Normally start off at 1.54v and 2.75v though.

Where is the voltmod for Leadtek 6600?
My card is Sparkle6600 AGP and can not do as well as zakelwe's.
Only 575/665 without vmod and about 600/700 with voltmod.I did not push far the voltages because memory will do artifacts at any voltage beyond 705clock and pushing core to high without memory bandwidth backup is useless.
So I run now 600/700 at 1.5/2.7V
Yes, any BIOS works on your card, just as long as it's a 6600 (AGP) BIOS. I think even a 6200 BIOS would work...Quote:

Not having auxiliary power supply,you will not be able to overclock to decent clock because AGP is limited in the power amount it could supply.
We encountered same problem with a guy at MVKTech forum,and he had artifacts at stock speed in 3DMark 2005.Try the "Galleon" demo wich is most demanding for memory and you can easly see them against blue sky fundal.
I have Hynix 3.3ns. And the card doesn't have a Molex conector :( . But no artifacts at standard speeds. The peak frequencyes were 470 and 550 - no artifacts (I used a Sparkle BIOS); 420 and 550 (with original BIOS).
I even tried to increase the Vagp but nothing happened, the results were the same.

HI, now I run at 539/663 with a Palit bios modded at 1.5 V, but I'm not sure that the card really go at 1.5 because I don't know where to measure it. I wana try more overclock and I read that Sparkle Bios is good for OC.
can I flash my Peak/Palit geforce 6600 (non-gt) Agp with a Sparkle Bios?
I made the check with VGABIOS and it said there is an error, and I have seen they have differen size (Palit 63.488 bytes - Sparkle 64.512 bytes).
Anyone flashed a Palit with a Sparkle BIOS?
And: may I use the Sparkle Bios without making any Vmods? My card has not a molex, only AGP power supply.

Yes all of you can use a Sparkle bios.Or Asus one,or MSI.
Moded bioses for voltage just don't work for me.They don't change voltage for real.
For Leadtek,you will see an improvement in core overclocking.
For Palit.I don't know since there is no molex conector.Same problem like Inno.AGP is limited to max 40w power supply to the card and rising AGP voltage in bios does not help overclocking,but it is ment for something else,concerning Northbridge_AGP link.It might help stability,though.
I currently run my Sparkle at 600/780 with changed timmings.

wow nice clocks, but I think you have 3.3 ns mem on your sparkle, my Palit(Peak) have samsung 4.0 (good OC) by with I can reach 700 mhz but without significant improvement from 663 that is the optimal. Also sometimes I have some artifact due to memory (I suppose).
Do you think that using more relaxed timings could give any improvement?
If so how can I change them (nibitor?) and what timings are alright for me?

and you will have modified timmings.You can see timmings in RivaTuner if you need.I don't like the way new NiBiTor works with the timmings and I'm not sure it really change them.Better use that bios but be carefull that is clocked 500/700.Reduce this values if you think your card can not do them,otherwise you will not be able to enter in Windows after flashing.Don't mess with the timmings.
I must tell you that my card is voltmodded to 1.5V for core and 2.72V for memory.

Don't use nibitor to read timmings.It shows allways same timmings,and never changes anything if you try to choose other set.
Yes,I use that bios like it is,and RivaTuner detects other timmings the usual with Sparkle bios.
Just testing the Sparkle Ultra BIOS on my Leadtek,n it's rocks mann..
my highest clock reach 600 for gpu and 800 for mem (artifacts free)
n looks like it can even go higher if i replace the stock cooler, n put a ramsink on my Hynix 3.6ns..

Open RivaTuner-Main-Graphics Subsystem diagnostic report-check NVIDIA graphics processor registers and reopen RivaTuner.In the report for processor registers you will see NV_PFB_TIMING0,1,2 and the values for timmings with this bios,wich are different for other bios.
Normaly,when modify timmings with NiBitor,RivaTuner should show timmings you intend to use,but for me,allways showed same timmings.That is way I said,that NiBiTor didn't modify the timmings for real.
And yes,I can go about 614/810,but is important to test card for long time in most demanding games to make sure that are no artifacts.
Is no need to push voltages beyond 1.6/2.75V,since there is no important gain in clock speeds or performance.600/800 artifact free will be ideal for this card,to be able to use some AA and AF in demanding games in resolution higer than 1024/768.
Now that we riched the limits of this card,is time to save some money and buy some 256bit cards,wich will are the only able to run at high resolutions with 4xAA.Anyway we acomplished the goal of being at least equal to 6600GT card.

I flashed with sparkleultra too, good job! I can reach 700 with memory and 540 gpu, more clock cause artifact or temporary block. I suppose it dipend by the lack of power ( no molex on my card). I think no more can be done with my card (until I find a Vmod that match my card), but I think that the VGA slot do not give enough power to my card.
I have some questions for you:
1) what temps tou have idle/load? (mine 47/63. Maybe too much?)
2) do you run your card at the same freq. 2D/3D ? Or you have different clocks ?
3) does this bios (clocked 500/700) have to be underclocked for 2D ?
4) what scores you reach with 3Dmark05 and Aquamark3 (mine 3150 and 6500 with an athlon-xp 2800 @ 2200mhz)

Hmm, I´ve flashed the Ultra bios, but on my Asus 6600 non GT it seems bad. Only blue screen in windows and VGABIOS says ther is an error. And in the beggining of start sequence of computer it says that my card has 256 MB memory. So, my question: this bios can be put only on sparkle 6600 non GT?
I got a PEAK (PALIT) 6600 AGP 128 mb (non GT) and it works.
I don't know if it works on Asus, I'm sorry.
Try to flash again or flashback original bios.

can you describe, how do you flash this bios? I use nvflash last version and command nvflash -4 -5 -6 bios.rom BTW: with 1,4 V my card do 540/720.
EDIT: I´ve copyied the timing settings from sparkleultra.rom to my asus bios.rom, but no change. It is strange. Maybe is actually memory mod needed.
I used the same commands (nvflash -4 -5 -6 bios.rom).
Maybe your card is not compatible with this bios (are you sure it is for a 128 mb VGA?)
I can reach almost your same clocks (540/700) but I don't believe the bios make any Vmod, so I think the card run at stock (1.3V), but I cannot measure since I have not a device to measure and I don't know where to measure (my card is different from the ones Vmodded found on the net and I'm not expert in electronics).
Two question for you:
Did you make any Vmod or only flashed with a bios with higher voltage table?
Do your memories are 4.0 or 3.6 ? (mine 4.0 @ 250 mhz stock)

Well,I have AthlonXP 2500+@2.32GHz.
I can get about 3450 in 3DMark 2005 with all the programs running in background.
Temp dependes on vcore.I have an old socket A cooler fitted on GPU.
At 1.5V temp are 42/57.
At 1.65V temp are 44/62.
For those who seems to have problems with this bios,I can suggest erasing completely the eeprom.But is very DANGEROUS.
Also keep in mind that every bios flash must be acompanied with reinstalling the drivers,I mean unistalling and reinstalling.
When you are going to flash a new bios for testing purposes,better unistall drivers first,reboot and flash new bios.
To compltely erase eeprom use only nvflash 5.12 with command nvflash -e.As soon as eeprom is erased,flash new bios with command nvflash -4 -5 -6.
DO NOT REBOOT computer after erase eeprom otherwise you loose your card.
After flashing new bios,reboot and as soon as you are in Windows,cancel new hardware wizard that appears and do a cleaning of old driver using Driver Cleaner.Now you are ready to install new driver.

I just wanna know, how far we can push the core voltage? Can we feed it up to 1.8v?
so far i've just done a vmod to 1.58v n it can fly the gpu core to 600, i wonder to push it somewhere 650 or even 700, so anyone know how far this NV43 can hold the max voltage we fed?
The memory bandwith is suck problem, this card is so limited by the lack of memory bandwith, so far i've done a vmem mod @ 2.79v n it can went up to 800 for memory, i believed if we can push it something like 850, we'll gain a lot of performance boost, cmiiw

Didn't try 1.8 but i think it is not gonna take that much.I tried 1.68V and I can tell overclocking is not better than at 1.6V.Limit is somwhere around 620,than the artifacts appear,no matter what voltage you use.There are limits to the GPU and you can not cross them just by boosting the voltage.
For the memory also,since is designed to be used at 550Mhz.For me,even supplying 2.9V,didn't give a clock much higher -about 810 seems to be the limit artifact free.
You have to consider,that there are also some protection circuits that will not let you feed how much voltage you like on the core and memory.
And,no we can not get a lot of performance if we go up to 850,just a little.
This memory is low specification and the timmings we use to be able to overclock,make it even slower.
Lets just accept clocks around 600/800 and make sure we don't encounter "stress test transitions L1>L2".
I have a 128Mb Chaintech 6600 AGP with crappy 4-ns Hynix chips (500MHz DDR), and it seems it doesn't like any other 6600 BIOSes out there (at least none of the ones from MVKTech.net). After a forced flash (using -6 -5 -4), what I get is a garbled text mode, and it only gets worse from there, so I'm pretty much stuck with my stock BIOS.
Any ideas?

Hey,I did see this picture couple of months ago.
If it is yours,you will have problems with the cooling of memory modules in the back of GPU heatsink. As I can see GPU fan does not blow on them,and an uneven cooling is like a bad cooling.
Now I remeber -I saw this picture on a russian site.
I put my ex athlon-xp 2800 heatsink with a 6000 round fan (noisy) and temps went down from 47°/64° to 39°/47° (idle/full load). Bios flashed with Sparkleultra from Seaman.
Nice job, but no much gain in OC 535/695 artifact free.
I think my VGA cannot go higher.
Someone have some ideas about how to go higher?

If you use the same bios, have you measured the real voltage of your card without Vmod? Does this bios really change the voltages or only it gives more relaxed memory timings?
It is strange that my GPU cannot go over 535 while the memory reach 700 (samsung 4.0) and now the temps are really low, so it is not a problem of overheating.

No,this bios does not change any voltage.It just give best timmings for overclocking the memory.
My card's voltage without voltmod are:
GPU 1.36V in 2D and 1.41V in 3D
Memory 2.58-2.59V
Problem for you could be the voltage and missing Molex conector.

Yes,right. nvflash -4 -5 -6 seems to be compulsory.simple nvflash -newbios does not work after completely erase eeprom.
For those with Sparkle cards,doing the vmem mod,a variable rezistor of 50kohms does the same thing,since there is no voltage increase till about 30k.
Any particular BIOS you consider I should try? I've downloaded all regular 6600 BIOSes from MVKTech.
Well,for me Asus and MSI worked well.But if any of these bioses work for you,that means Sparkle Ultra moded bios that I linked in this thread,should work too.And is the best for overclocking the memory.Quote:

Looks hard to believe that you can not overclock your memory just because you have 256.

before flashed, it's already @ 1.6v
after flashed i didn't checked it, coz i thought that the changed bios doesn't affects the gpu volts..
Thx god my card still ok this time...it's been run @ 600 w/ 1.9v for days, w/ stock cooler!
i've used a temp mon, n it's 50 Celcius@idle, n 68 @full load...so i thought that it was okay...
so now gpu ran @600 w/ 1.7volts only..n the temps@idle reach 45 Celcius only
so Seaman, is this why @600 ican't see any artifacts? :rolleyes:
For Sparkle cards,the Ultra bios does not change anything about the voltages.
It would be interesting to know what this bios change in other cards without a volt mod.
So wedfighter please tell me:
-what is your card voltage without voltmod(2D and 3D)-original Leadtek bios
-what is your card voltage withhout voltmod -Sparkle bios,and Sparkle Ultra

Sorry Seaman, but this likely an uncommon issue n looks like my vgpu regulator went bad since i've raised too much, somtimes it read 1.65 n somtimes it goes to 1.75 or even 1.9v
or maybe because my pencil mod si not stable anyway?

Your voltage is like Sparkle's voltage.I have 1.36 in 2D and 1.41V in 3D without voltmod.
You should have measured before repenciling to make sure your voltage increase is due to Ultra bios or due to penciling.
I tried nvflash -e and I got the same results.
Tried all possible BIOSes (even ones that didn't require neither -6 -5 or -4), and all I get after flashing is a garbled POST screen, after which the only possibility is to almost-blind flash back to stock.
Anyone else has experienced this?
It sucks not to be able to even try a different BIOS.

There is a revision 02 bios for Sparkle-256Mb at MVKtech.Don't know if something is changed with this new bios,because compared in Hexcmp it looks identical with the older one.But you can give it a try.
