Just a HTT screenie for jollies.
I'm glad I saw this thread... I was just about to order an Epox. :p:
Might as wel, the epox should hold you over for a few until the DFI is availble.
Having loved my Infinity NF2 board I'm looking forward to this board as my MSI K8N Neo is a sack of    .
Good god.. I want one :)Quote:

Holy.
Crap.
:slobber:
damn, congrats Big toe :toast:
Guys...If it the record then its my first one :)
It was at 2.5LDT so HT speed was 1063 or so which is right on the limit for the board with no mods...with VHT this board would probably max out VERY easy at the 450+ limit is has now.
DFI are full aware of this thread so no real need for me to mail em the shots as they already have em ;).
Also remember this is on a stock board with no mods, air-cooled with the OCZ DDR Booster supplying the vdimm above 3.1V.
I had word yesterday they are changing the pcb color and changing the layout slightly, as long as they leave the top half of the board untouched as to not effect the overclocking I will be very happy.
What can I say  What a board! I hope they make the pcb red to join its NFII brother :D
DFI, Im lost for words...Thank you :toast:
so cant wait for that board. nice 400ht big toe. make me have hope for my cg clawhammer 3400+
2 questions:
1. How much is the DFI board going to run for?
2. What features does it have?
it has the overclocking feature, the one we need :D
Not to sure about price and features, it didn't come with a manual.Quote:

I can tell you it has 4 SATA ports, 2x IDE ports (I think can be used as Raid, not sure), Firewire, six of those Sound plug thingys:D and the basics, LAN, USB 2 all that.
Welome to Xtreme by the way.
OPP
God lord.
Has there been a thread with so much :slobber: 's as in this one around?
OMG :) this board rocks
Ya thanks. I'm still deciding whether I should wait for this board or just go ahead and get a MSi Neo Plat. I don't plan to do extreme overclocking, but if the DFI is stable enuff and has wut i need, I might just wait and get it.
Wait for the DFI, cause its THE board to oc on obviously
wow... i thought i wouldn't buy dfi again...
but seroiusly... can we trust that they'll do a good job of giving bios updates unlike the nf2 infinity/lanparty?
guess I will have to wait on the board.
Guys i will ask for the full specs for you and post here.
I wonder if this is the board that's gonna give the A64's the fighting chance they need in 3DMark03. I can see a 3700 getting pretty high when the 754 boards come out. I'm interested how well the 939 FX's will do on this puppy.
400HTT :slobber: DFI ROCKS!
abit lost their best bios engineer to DFI.. ;)Quote:

As long as the PCB is blue, or maybe black, I'll take one. ;) :D Anyone want a KV8 Pro? CHEEP? :D
Blue belongs to Shuttle, and I think Soyo likes black.. I say stick with red ;)
Heh, if it runs like Opp's and bigtoe's, I don't care if it's pink, lol. :D I thought red was a MSI thing? Never had much luck with them. :stick: ;)
Red has been MSI, Abit, and DFI now I think.
I honestly don't give a $ h!t what color it is. No window for me!
bigtoe...
will they do a good job of releasing bioses for this board though?
they did crap for the infinity/lanparty but it survived due to all the beta's that were released by people...
Who do you think wwas releasing the beta bios files in the first place?...DFI
I see a lot of bios files with swapped romsip tables from one beta to the next, the romsips were all written by DFI in the first place though.
Im sure we will see good bios support on this board as it is clearly designed for overclocking.
Yeah... O.Wu is the head engineer for this board ;)Quote:

Bigtoe,
so when is OCZ going to release some "PC6400 EL" to go with this board?! :D
great :)
i need a hint....
i've got a lucky cpu (A64 3200+ @ 2450Mhz with only 1.375v RS, liquid cooled...).
I'm waiting for the A64 kit for my prometeia mach 2 and in this way i would buy the best motherboard on the market (for A64 socket 754).
Today my mb is Epox 8HDA3+ (i also had Aopen AK86-L and Aopen AK89 Max) but i can't rich good results with it.
So i need a new motherboard. I read all the posts and i'm very interested in DFI's product.
I found Chaintec NF3 250 (255Mhz with 4X and 325Mhz with 3X) but i don't know what to do...
any hint? :)
P.S. sorry for my English.....
your english is fine, in fact, better than some where English is the mother tongue.
just be patient, DFI is rolling out their new motheboard sometime in the next two to three weeks. With an OCZ ram clocker module and the features already on the board, it is ready to go out of the box voltage wise.
of course, the crazies will tweak it even more.
lets hope the reference boards features and clockabilites remain the same for the retail product.
i will be setting one up on my prommie soon too, just waiting for that motherboard to be issued.
baldy
Thank you :)Quote:

it's very kind of you :)
i'll wait for this motherboard...i want to spend my money for the best compromise on the market (quality/price).
I'm very astonished  ...excellent results :)
P.S. here, in Italy, we can buy hardware weeks and weeks after the Americans. Imagine that X800XT and 6800 Ultra aren't available here :(
@ OPP and bigtoe: Is there an ETA for hitting the shelves for this S754 DFI? thx. :)
what I want to see is the Socket 939 Version. Then I can really see what the 3500+ can do :toast:

erm, for which price ?
500$ per 512MB-stick ?

I hope you mean the normal people will tweak it more and the crazy won't? :D You would have to be crazy not to crank this one up! :toast:Quote:

man I can't wait to get this board. Will be lot's of fun. Also happy the booster works.
does someone know (maybe bigtoe :D) at which price-region the boards will be :)
I would think price wise you will be looking at about the same as the NF2 lanparty, maybe a touch more.
I heard mid to late Aug for release although it could come sooner.
Regards ram that can do ddr600+ with low latency...we are pushing to make DDR500 and DDR533 a reality and with JEDEC now passing(or just about to) ddr500 at 3-4-4-8 we are part the way there. As more manufacturers move to DDR500 IC's we will find ways to tweak the latency down and increase the speed.
Remember OCZ were the first to offer mainstream modules that were all tested to ddr500 speeds with the 3700Gold rev1 which was released over a year ago now, our new 4000gold rev2 is capable of hitting ddr533 with 2.5-3-3 latency at 2.7Vdimm or lower so I can't see it being long till we see mainstream modules doing 2.5-2-2 or close to this at those speeds.
Wouldn't you think Intel would see this and tweak the 915 chipset to take advantage of these super fast dimms instead of intentionally crippling it.
DDR500+ 2.5-2-2 with 2.7v... :slobber:Quote:

All the modules (OCZ PC4000 Gold rev 2.0) could reach these results? (533Mhz with 2.5-3-3 ad 2.7v)Quote:

or this is limited to lucky modules?
thank you :)
As far as I know the bulk of them should do this speed. Also please remember the modules clock better on Intel 875 boards etc but I have been told these do VERY well on A64 and NF2 aparantly even in 512 configs.Quote:

did i get that right ?
JEDEC is going to standazise (lol, what a word  ) DDR500 ?
is this official ?
Hm, it looks like this thread moves away from its original topic... however, 2 questions, bigtoe:Quote:

1) do you have any information, is the PC4000DDR rev2.0 already available in retail channels in Europe?
2) are these modules also using some Hynix IC's... and what about them responding to higher voltage? ;)
I will create a new thread for the new 4000gold rev2..lets keep this one for the dfi board ;)
Simply :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
Can you guys test how do the boards work with double sides 512mb sticks, I got a gig of BH-5 sitting around cause my AN7 cant work with them over 210 fsb
Hopefully this board accepts DTRs and mobiles.
I tested 2x512 of newish BH5, it maxed out at 218fsb in dimm slots 1 and 2.Quote:

I will be testing EB next and will post what results I get.
Man, deffinately not the result I was expecting. Care to add a little more info BigToe, like voltage and other settings? Right on!
WoW, I'm very impressed with the results.
The only problem right seems to find RAM that can keep with the FSB speed that this board can reach.
How is OCZ EL PC4400, can it go over DDR600 and reach somewhere around DDR650?
I tested the BH5 upto 3.5vdimm...no joy, it just may be crap ram
With 1 module it did 270fsb 2-2-2.
I tested Hynix D43 and CTD-5 and it did ok...not as good as the EB though.
In response to that, if anandtech can get these results with only 2.85 vQuote:

Then I'm sure DDR600 isn't out of the question :)
Yeah you're right, with new DFI board that can give 3.2 Vdimm or with the OCZ booster, DDR600 is going to be reached im sure ;).Quote:

Thanx bro, ouch looks like my epox isnt the only board to take a hit with 2 x double sided 512's. Dam I love my 3700EB btwQuote:

So, is it positive to use a AMD64 Mobile CPU on this DFI Socket 754 Nforce3 250GB mobo?
Some DFI 3D results:D
OPP
damn
jesus dude, 754 there?
:D
 :slobber:
OPP steals the show ;)
OPP, that was on S754? if so, which CPU, GPU and RAM? :slobber:
Well, it has to be the SKT754 if he used the DFI ;) X800XT ? Could be any host of cpu's but I go for a 3400+ with some Mushkin LII :D Probably wrong!
nice, BTW the top 5 scores in 3d03 are bugged
Opps holding out on us.... ;)
It was on this DFI 754 mobo:D
3700+ at 12x266= 3190MHz
800XT doing 768/666
OPP

Drop the multi to 11x on that S754 and it will probably beat OPPs S939 score
DAYum Opp, that's just SWEET! :D :toast: :D Hurry up, DFI, we want these boards.
This is how the DFI socket 939 should look

That's what I'm talkin about!!! Yeah!!
These were the Lan Party the Infinty look like this

So there is an Infinity S939 as well as LanParty ? Or just S754 Infinity, and 939 LanParty ...
That Infinity is a S754.
So are the board definately going to be available from mid august, or will we have to wait longer?
Am i gonna have to try and order from the US again because they wont come out in Europe for ages afterwards :(
Damn sweet board though, i want one now.
G
From where do you order from the US, I live in Malta and I order most of my parts from the UK. But since the DFI will probably take some ime to be available in europe, I might try to get it from the US.Quote:

Don't know if all the yellow and orange conenction are UV reactive hope they are would looks really sweet. :slobber::slobber:
Im not a great lover of that UV reactive stuff on mobo's, I would prefer it to go got a red pcb design ;)
SWEET!
Now If They'll Just Get Them Out Soon.......
My FX-53 is DYIN' for a New Home!:D
A pink one would be fun :p:Quote:

Can't wait for one of these :slobber:
It will be taking my infinity's place rather quickly.
well the infinity is black
Where can I pre-order one of these things? :)
Will they make a slightly stripped down version, like Epox did with the 8KDA3+/J?
very nice
OMG
I have been waiting to dump my EPoX 8KDA3+ anytime. This is a perfect reason!!!
Any words on the releasing date?
How much would it cost? I hope it won't go higher than $150.
Tony will this board fit a Mach2 AMD64 cpu kit properly ?
from looking at the picture eva, it looks like there's enough space for the mounting kit :)
Not crazy about how close the CPU socket is to the AGP slot. Makes it hard for big coolers to get along.
Will the 4 DIMM slots be able to handle 4x 512M BH5 running in dual channel?
On PCBoard colors... WTF... all PCboards are light light green, they are layers of FIBERGLASS with copper on it. The COLOR is simply the die used in the solderpaste mask that keeps the raw solder paste from shorting between pins before being melted.
The COLOR means absolutely NOTHING. Thats like RED cars being faster than BLUE cars. Get a grip.
Whoa now. Some peeps like to have a good looking computer is all. No one is saying they wont buy it if it was ugly.
I'm also interested in the 4x512 config
Does it (the S754 one) have Coaxial or Optical out? I have a JVC home theatre system and Coaxial/Optical out is a must have for any board that I get. :)
Has it been found out yet if this board will run mobile chips?
That would depend on the BIOS. Since the board is still not officially, the BIOS probably isn't official/done too ATM. But seen DFI's efforts on de NFII boards, I'm pretty sure this board (maybe with another BIOS) will run mobile's.Quote:

If needed I will talk with Oskar to make sure this board supports mobiles.
I know they are working on the 939LP now so they may be a short wait to make sure mobiles are supported.
