Yah ... i was hoping it will be like $2 or close to it :rolleyes: . With those crazy prices i wont be able to bench frequently , maybe once a month at most :( with LN2 , with DI it's 5 times cheaper (1$ / Lb , 20 Lbs enough for 8-10 hours , 25L LN2 i guess about the same 6 - 8 hours ? :shrug: )Quote:

Hey do you know which types of air gas stores carry LN2? Do the regular branch stores or do they have to be retail stores?

Here in the UK it costs about £80 IIRC to fill a 25 litre dewar and £50/month rental.
Larger quantities are much cheaper... that 800 litre dewar in my avatar is 40p a litre IIRC (£0.40). The company who owns it said if I had my own dewar they could fill it for me :D.

I have my own 16L dewar and 15kg DI box- purchase/carring/preservation is a lot easyer this way.

I'm sure in CA I could get it cheaper, but in PA I've only got one airgas near me, so it's $2. My benching rig is in PA, no benching in CA, so I'm stuck. It's ok, I can only bench when I'm home from boarding school, so that means summer and a few breaks so $2 isn't going to kill me.

Unfortunately no matter how you slice it LN2 is much pricier to bench with than DI.
^It's worth it to me though. My chip is just about at the absolute limit of what dry ice can do, and I'm not satisfied. 4975mhz dry ice doesn't leave me any room for improvement, so LN2 is a must. Unless I've got a real low FSB wall, I don't think 5400mhz is overly optimistic for this chip, and with P35 and 5:6 that'll give some good times I think.

Dry ice is $0.42/lb in Knoxville and you can also find it for $0.22/lb in Loudon which is about 20-30 minutes away. :D
I use airgas for LN2 I rent a 160l dewar for about $35 a month. Filling the dewar is $94/160L. Dice runs me almost $2 a lb. :(
Guess im lucky here to cause I have access to a shop that repairs truck tankers and guess what rolled in. A praxair tanker with over 180 L of ln2 in it. All free. Ah thats some fun times. There co2 truck are cool to the pipe on back when emptying it get sub 80's frosty :)

Yes, AGA sells LN2, their price is $3/L in my banana republic :D I can get it cheaper though from other places - like $1.5/L, so 20L dewar is $30
Here it is around 30EUR for 0-39Litre refill at Messer. Havent asked for greater quantities.

price's have gone up in belguim for LN2 , its 3.52€/L ln2. filled 50L last mounth cost me 166€ :(
I pay €2,- for a liter if i pick it up approx 30km from my place. Delivered its €1,30/L however they charge 65,- for the delivery itself so thats no good with only a 30L dewar :D

Seems to me as if making that for the amount of money it's going to cost that skiping dice for ln2 is the ticket. So far I know that i'm goin to need alot of insulation for mb vgas'...i'd like to have two or 4 depending upon what design for my 3870x2s' then a nice pot for cpu...not sure if I would want one on n/b as I might opt for putting LS...ahh...2nd thought ...pot on n/b too. Then a dewar...with pressure valve...then probes for all the pots...at least one temperature reader that can read 4 or more temps simultaneously....and or 4 separate lcds....whosh...that's alot of dough already.

Call blackhole for a 25L dewar, costs $180 shipped. Talk to AirGas about either having a 180L dewar delivered or storing a 180L dewar at their local facility and filling off it yourself. This will drop your LN2 costs by half. Then go either search for a used LN2 pot or buy one from a notable seller. My entire LN2 setup cost me $700 with $160 deliveries of 180L dewars to my house. Much cheaper than $2000 ;)
