They should be at Newegg soon.
Waiting for one too. My RIVE has been sitting in an unopened box since mid-November
Some store has listed 5 on eBay now.

I am watching NewEgg like a hawk!
well it does look the C2's are clocking better, Viss posted a chip on hwbot that validated at almost 5900 (585X) on 2c 2t and that is good news:up:
WOW! Thas amazing, i would love to have one of those.. enjoy the oc, keep pushing.
Testing C2 K 3148B453 now..
First try @ LN2. Temp is -60 (CB-85/CBB-80)

Awesome chip, Congrats!
C2 is good
I think we are going to need to see a least a dozen results before any conclusions can be made. From what I'm seeing C2 results are mixxed...some doing very well, while others doing pretty much what C1 did. Not enough of them out there yet to see a definitive trend. I'm still hopeful though. I wouldn't mind trading up if I can get a few hundred mhz consistently.
^Haven't seen you in a while MD:D
Some of Micro Center store stock 3960K C2 for $599+tax...
Very nice clock there, keep pushing!
no C2 yet thanks intel for this i have my RIVE and so others waiting for a ghost chip grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Tired of waiting for 3930k, anyone know if newegg has c2 3960x?
C2 #3148B453 52X water. Probly will go higher with cold

Nice. Did you check up to what multi you can let it reset after it hangs at boot ?
Curious if Newegg has C2 3960X myself.
Options at this point are;
Order a 3960X from NewEgg, hope for C2-
or
Drive 15 hours round trip to Microcenter to get a 3930K that will probably be C2.
Newegg has the C2 3930Ks in stock, limit 1

After I posted this, there were no more left. Maybe they found an old C1.
Was hoping they received their batch of C2s.
I'll know on Monday when it arrives what stepping it will be.
Dumo, nice mem speed at that freq.
They do run warmer than sb, a lot warmer.
^ Hey Sin, the 2 chips Ive tried have run pretty cool. I cant see much difference between these and my 2600k's on water. Talked to Dumo today and his chip also runs cool, hes on water with 1.55vcore at 34c, not bad. Dont think it will stress his SS any more than the 2600kl.
WPrime 1024m on fairly good water cooling and a little cool air, single stage should be no problem.

Only thing I changed was the multiplier and Vcore to 1.42v in the BIOS. Boots up fine and can run through 3DMark11 and Intel Burn test perfectly fine. Runs a little warm though, idles at mid to high 30C and ~60C on load (under water, may have to reseat CPU block looks like).
As soon as I hit 49+ mutiplier though it gets stuck at Windows load screen. Should I pump up the voltage? What would be the 24/7 daily Vcore recommendation?
hey i went to my local MC in farifax,va no X79 CPus yet, but a lot of X79 boards, and even more Z68 boards hahahahaha too many Z68 boards they just brought out their entire stock i think.
My C2 costarica 3930K wall @ 5208Mhz....Both water and cold:(
Damn! That is not good news.:(
Can you put it in a "cpu squeezing device" to check if there's any more to wring out of it.:yepp:
OC Nub- maybe just the ESes have a lot of heat. But maybe your cooling is too good! haha, i mean the TDP is higher, it should run a bit hotter than SB at the same voltages and frequency.
Why would newegg have C1s? I am pretty sure they ran out of CPUs, and they should only get C2s in.
im getting ready for this :)

Just wondering.......will you not need a support bracket at the bottom of the rad......... Just a thought.
It will be the same like SB before, C1 or C2!.......If it can boot up windows @ 56X+ then you got a gem:)
Thanks Sergio for mentioning our store! We are friends with small border on between!
My Newegg 3930K arrived that I ordered last Wednesday and it's a SR0KY.

angelreaper... and how it is?
Does anyone know speed for speed, how does IB fair in comparison to 2011? Faster? Slower? Same? Depends on apps?
Got new C2 stepping to on my new 3930K :D SROKY !! full Batch 3152B189 , MM#919887 . SN A0883 *
just testing little bit http://imageshack.us/f/580/3930kbench.jpg/
=) 125 x 32 @ Vcore 1.144v right now and prime 95 runs fine... :eek::up:
Decent prices for 3930K...comparo to others

My C2 can do 51 x 103 in 3DMark06, but scores best at 51 x 102 with 2 HD7970's running in X-Fire.
CPU is on cold water
Attachment 124186
Normally new users will let it set at default which is 1.375v altho still under Intel's specs.
Worse thing is this expensive mobo doesn't have temp sensor for VRM lol.
Afaik a good digital VRM can hold up till 125C duno whether this board is able to withstand that heat or not. We also want a south bridge temp sensor on this mobo.
The R4E set these voltages when set to Auto. But today I tried to better my 3DMark06 score, but before doing that I manually set the voltages in the Bios to 1.25v and was still able to run the 16GB of ram at DDR3-2470 with 9-11-11-27-1T settings.
mwave has 3930k in stock in the US, price is high though. http://www.mwave.com/mwave/ViewProdu...teria3=Core+i7
Hi
Does anyone know if batch number L150B490 is a known good overclocker.
Thanks
Batch numbers are not important with SB-E it seems. The guys who are testing CPU's from the same batch see massively different Overclocks. Its all look of the draw!!!!
Indeed it is we saw 49X to 57X in over 40 CPU's of the same batch... And even if it boots at high speeds it can be the IMC can't handle high ram clocks...
that is interesting, i want the same thing on every board with a digital PWM, as the PWm does infact measure the temp of every phase through a thermsistor, I would think it would be possible. But maybe it is only visible through the firmware, which can't be integrated into the BIOS.
What is good Oc on air with Sandy bridge-E 3960X ?
i run this chip on Noctua d14 cooler and get 5,1Ghz but this is not c2 rev either same old rev.
that is very good
Does anyone know if Intel will warranty exchange a C1 for a C2?
i heard a few people did get that, but i am not sure about how truthful that is. Intel might do it, who knows. The worst that can happen is that they say no.
Its worth a try if you have a bad clocking chip. Otherwise I dont think there is any benefit in exchanging your c1 for a C2.
Hi. I have a new setup 3930K c2 + Asus Rampage IV Formula. It`s my new main rig and main use is crunching and gaming. How about max safe voltages in 24h crunching. I plan to use 4.9 -5.0Ghz and my cpu need about 1.45-1.46v vcore to be prime stable. Is it too much? How about CPUVTT and VCCSA volts in 24/7 use? I dont want my cpu to degrade. My cooling is cold water (chiller and radiators outside). Max cpu temp @4960 / 1.46v in prime blend is 44 celsius and 40 celsius in crunching. VRM is cooled by 2*120 fans and VRM is cool to touch. I am always been AMD clocker and now noob INTEL clocker but hope to learn more.
Just received my 3930K C2. Currently testing it with Sabertooth, but in 2 weeks RIVE arrives. Anyway:
What concerned me almost instantly it has TJ max set at 91*C. Is it board related or what? What are your tj max for cpu guys?
Same TJMax for my C1.
OK, so now I know it's normal for retail.
I've got 3960X ES and it has Tj max set at 105*C, thought retail will be the same :/
It is still hard to find a 3930K. I thought the shortage would have let up by now. The yields must be no where near where Intel wants them, every
chip that has all the parts working to be a Xeon will be binned a Xeon. With the release of the server chips a few weeks away, Intel can not afford to have supply issues. $1000 for a 3960X is too much for many. The 3820 doesn't make a lot of sense because the motherboards are expensive and PCI-E 3.0 doesn't justify the purchase, just wait for Ivy Bridge.
I would pay $1000 for a 2.8ghz 8-core chip, but that is a long way off. This would probably be the highest bin for Xeons. Could you use a lower clocked 8-core Xeon (probably $1000) and use the 125 strap to get to at least 2.8? Some motherboards have supported Xeon's in the past, any plans for that now?
If I am going to have to wait many weeks more to get a 3930K, I might as well wait for the possibility of using a Xeon.
They have a bunch at ncix
preliminary testing :)

Yay 3930K C2 on the way and RIVE on my desktop . No RAMs yet though. Hopefully my X58-Dominator GTs would work with testing etc. properly..
A few days ago my "auto notification" email was sent to me by NewEgg that the 3930K was back in stock. By the time I got to the website.....yup you guess it. They (i would hope there was more than one) were gone and the page showed OUT OF STOCK. Since the other vendors that have the 3930K were blatantly gouging on the price I decided to empty the piggie bank and get a 3960X - which pretty much wiped out my funds for new video cards. So I'll lean on my pair of 470GTX cards a few months longer while I scrape together the duckets for their upgrade. It's almost spring time anyway. Time to start fishing and playing golf again.
