From what I heard the pirated versions work just fine. It's not the first time, when a pirated version which is free (kinda) works better then the original which is quite expensive... At least the poor people are happy, the rich one should wait... :)

gah, my roomate bought this for XBOX 360 last night, after an hour of playing we both decide this game blows.
i have COD4 MW and COD WaW and I really did not like MW2 at all!
then again i was watching it on a console.. pc is hopefully a bit different.

No disc for $89 US. And movies on that game let me think that's a poor game. Screeshots are a lot better ... faked or photoshop may help a lot.
Orange box is a better deal. And 5870 is a better deal too, included dirt 2 on steam.

More like PCs do some kinds of gaming better, like RTS, FPS and point-and-click adventure games, as well as any game with lots of text. 2D platformers (like Super Mario 3 and Sonic 2, for example) are more suitable on consoles, imo. Consoles are also better for local multiplayer in a lot of cases, since they are usually placed in a spot where it's easier to sit together with a bunch of friends an play on the same screen.Quote:

That's true, old console multiplayer games were more like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, but many games were mostly single player. Still, even single player games were often played in crowds, like passing the controller around in Super Mario Bros, Sonic 2, SMB3 and so on. My friends and I were almost always at each others places playing together, sometimes there were 10 of us around the TV at the same time, one of us playing at a time but everyone being just as engaged in the game. You don't really see that on the PC, it's not designed for it in the same way.Quote:

IMO, this is a lot of whining for no apparent reason, it seems that people are just trying to find flaws.
I had way bigger problems with CoD5 when it was brand new.
- The SP crashed when playing in Germany, I switched the CD's out at the store and still had the same problem, reinstalled it a good 5 times before I gave up.
- When playing MP you had to wait 5 or so minutes for some connection settings to reset so that the servers would show and being able to connect.
Waiting 30seconds and then restart the game would also work sometimes.
While my copy of CoD6 is flawless as far as I've experienced. :up:

Very good game, ending is pretty friggin' awesome.
Only play COD's for the singleplayer so multiplayer doesn't concern me.
Nicer than pervious versions as it has a much more arcade feeling. Also It's nice they got rid of lean, it's just an aid for people without aim to stay protected anyway.

Imo,CoD4 had better singleplayer experience regarding story,CoD6 has better action.They went over the line regarding weapon modeling.

multi player = what makes you still play the game 2, 5, 10 years after its intial release, and can firmly keep any otherwise generic FPS in history as a truly great game

Well, actually i didn't buy the game for MP - i play Wars TIA on a modded clan server. I am not able to find a MW2 host because my ping, but i knew that beforehand...
Sp isn't bad at all, i am quiet surprised what you can squeeze out of DX9. I play it now the second time with a higher difficulty and don't regret the money spent at all.
Looks like Crysis 2 will be developed the other way around - a full PC game and then stripped down for console ? Should be a cracker with dedi servers...
