power on is 19, target is 32. So it's definitely unlocked.

This chip is insane. c'mon 2010!
Damn nice ! run it X64
CPU-Z typically shows a range on ES processors. The minimum 12 followed by the default maximum. Processors that support turbo boost are then able to go beyond this maximum.
When users are willing to spend a $1000 bucks or so for an Extreme processor, Intel is usually nice enough to give them an unlocked multiplier. i9 will likely be unlocked when it hits retail just like an i7-965 or i7-975 is.
Nice cpu score vantage but it will suck at the 3d score of vantage becouse of the low speed at 19x multi and lose lots of points.
its a nice chip for wprime/cinebench however. :)
And don't forget Chess :D
this is gonna be a rosie beast@4ghz!
3D mark 06 CPU test @ 4,0-4,2GHz please. :D
Why you guys broke NDA ??
Those guys never signed any NDAs
I could have an i9 too- but didn't want one- it's useless if you don't do benchmarking or professional work as a living ;)
Most games don't even use 4 cores...
And why all the people spoke about i9 ? Gulftown will be i7 :D
Aheeem, is that a hint? http://www.operationsports.com/forum...lins/y220a.gif
cpu-z dosent support core i9 yet mabe or can read it
damn locked 19 multi =(
Guys, there seems to be only one "type" of chip circling right now. Mult 18, Turbo 19 - but definitely locked, unfortunately - or I would have gotten one by now :D
Chrisch, that CB10 looks low (I've seen another chip @ same frequency do >33k) is that 32bit?
Yes, its 32bit.
x64 looks like this :D
http://www.abload.de/img/cinebenchnlfdv99g.png
That's more like it Chrisch :)
BCLK wall?
222BCLK, but i think it is the gigabyte board which limited. Its my third UD5 and all had a wall at ~221-222Mhz (with different CPUs)
i have now a RIIE here but i need a bloomfield to flash a Gulftown "ready" bios :D
Multi 19 too locked with your gigabyte UD5 ??
Edit : i have found a perfect detection here :

aAHAHAHA boby
http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/8781/cpu2532.jpg
Chrisch
you need to do a PCI express mod to push bus further
PM hicookie about it
and what model i9 is this supposed to be?????
Crazy chip  link
Hell yeah, finally..
This raises one question tho. Are ALL the 2,4G models unlocked, and most boards/bioses just can't handle them properly (yet), or is Kingpin's chip really different from the rest?
Naw... if Intel wants the mult to be locked it's locked, no matter the board/bios. I think they have proven that with the last 10 years ;)
If a chip is unlocked on the classified it will sooner or later be unlocked on the other boards as well. Q is whether they just have a head start with their bios, or whether the chip is actually a new one.
Its Shamino's. My guess would be bios related (hope so :D) I think they are all unlocked.
:eek::eek::eek: 1.80v+ on a 32nm chip! :clap: :clap: now that's an Xtreme Overclock. I can't imagina a wprime at 5.8GHz :rolleyes:
Wow - new bios? :D
Awesome... I asked DFI and they told me there is no bios support yet.. argh. Looks like I'll have to get another mobo :p:
zomg...
intel.proart your still using the Gigabyte X58-Extreme?
If so, what bios version your using?
Will be any lower clocked desktop models or Xeons???
Why is slower in superpi and with 12MB cache than bloomfield at 4 cores & 8 threads + 8MB cache
this is mine at 4,6ghz and air cooled
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/1226/...zcorei7975.jpg
running with dual channel but lose some time when not have triple channel. you should have better score with more cache
Just let the multiplier unlock .. BIOS does not give full play to the performance of 12M
X58 UD3R F8D BETA BIOS

Chri$ch, I just noticed that in CPUZ your mobo rev says 13, is this a new revision of the UD5 you are using, because both of my UD5's say Rev 12??
Also, does anyone know roughly how much these chips will retail at?
The results in this thread are really good I must say, but I am guessing they are gonna be really expensive chips, right?
Probably around the same price as the current 975's or more?
its a new board (now ~1.5 weeks old), so yes it have latest chipset revision :)
Regards
Chris
Thanks for the reply mate.
Though you did say that you are still experiencing the 222 Bclk wall with this revision right?
Any news?
got today new samples ;)
now with 3.07GHz stock speed :)
http://www.abload.de/img/3.07ghz-riieyglz.png
These Gulftowns are the pricey Extreme Edition processors or Xeons MP? When are we going to see 6 cores for the desktop?
short BCLK test with 2.4GHz Gulftown Xeon on Rampage II Extreme (all air cooled)
http://www.abload.de/img/riie-bclkvklo.png
Damn a 6-core working 3.07Ghz right out of the box it's very good for this stage
Amazing results... Can't wait to get one! Looks like it might clock higher than the i7 D0 chips...
6 cores at 4.4Ghz!
The 3.07GHz can do a little bit more ;) :D
http://www.abload.de/img/4.62ghz-superpi-1m-1yz0n.png
also air cooled, no tweaks and my 24/7 os.
air cooled 4.81GHz SuperPi 32M run (~20°C room temp / Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cooler)
no tweaks, low clocked uncore & memory.
http://www.abload.de/img/4.8ghz-32mf204.png
Here is what i got so far.
Watercooled, Win 7 64-bit and only 1 ram stick...
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1772/5110o.jpg
4.75GHz air cooled AM3 :)
http://www.abload.de/img/4.75ghz-am37xoi.jpg
So guys from your recently experience with i9s, what is the average o/c for 24/7?:)
Some amazing clocks in this thread; how do you guys get all these nice chips?
Cinebench @ 5062Mhz
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/2...ebench5062.jpg
Let me get this - 6 cores with 12 threads running 4.75Ghz on AIR!?!?!
What are the temps on that thing? Is that 24/7 stable?
OMG  most have this brutal monster
Looks really good, though I wonder how much these babies will cost.
max BCLK & Clock with air cooling on Rampage II Extreme (boot from bios!)

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=743726
huh ? 6 cores and 6 Threads ?? where is the other 6 threads
amazing.., will b a while though before they hit retail...
SMT disabled? ;)
http://www.abload.de/img/235bclk-superpi-32mcgph.png
Wow, very impressive! I noticed that you had the vcore at 1.496. While I'm guessing that this is over the limit, has Intel said anything about max vcore?
Oh, and it would be great to see one running on some phage cooling!
Too bad about the price, though. I guess all of those not wanting an EE will have to wait for Sandy Bridge. :(
Great Work
What Use Ram Model?1880 CL7 It's Very Good For Heavy Test :)
2,4Ghz EE Gulftown aircooled :D

@ Pt1t
nice result :D
Impressive result Pt1t:up:
is 3d05 responding with two more cores compared to same i7 clocks?
I'm officially jealous of your CPUs guys. :p: :D
Whoa... Pt1t - that's a i7 Gulftown? Does that mean it might actually be affordable?!?!
it is his CPU-Z version.
itīs a Core i9 Extreme Edition
if mainboard maker say its Core i9 (Gigabyte) so i think it is sure?! maybe not but i trust them :D (S.1156 nameīs were also correct ^^)
Q3fe Es1 Q3qp Es2 !! Q3?? Qs Coming soon !!
Yeah... that's what I figured.
But what's a Q3xx? Are we expecting something else? Like a new chip of any kind? I really cant think of anything...
Where can i find the bios 0077 for I9 on Asus Rapage 2 Extrem please.
send the asus support a mail and ask for it ;)
