I dont follow.... The Fit isnt good? I build computers on a weekly basis and My UD3 fits as well as $400 Boards. Honestly, ive never seen an ATX board that fits bad. I\O has no issues and my PCI-E Devices fit perfect. I've seen flimsy I\O Shields on cheap boards that sometimes didnt line up good but that was stuff like asrock and ECS. I think you may have an issue elsewhere.. Maybe loose or mis aligned motherboard tray?Quote:

So far, I've pretty much left everything on AUTO for the higher FSB stuff, so the 600+ are with the usual 1.85 PLL, 1.60Vtt. PLL seems like it doesn't need to be anywhere near that high though, even for 600FSB. If you're really going to be running in the 450-550FSB range, they can definitely be brought down a good amount. SPi's are pretty tough higher up for some reason. If it doesn't "go over 480 stable", it still sounds like you are booting below 480 and clocking up. Have you tried booting AT 500FSB like I suggested? I just ran this, not even 5 min. ago. I purposely left the mem and everything at their boot deafults...just boot and run 32M with no adjustments. You might need slightly different voltages, but even this 2.30V is overkill for my sticks here and if your proc can't run 4.5GHz, just use a lower multi.

These are the EXACT settings I booted and ran that 32M with. If it's not listed in here (ie. Advanced mem, ICH voltage, etc.), I didn't touch a thing from defaults. This a template from the EP45-Extreme, so some names/defaults might be listed different. I changed the ones I remembered, but either way, the settings at the ends of the lines are exactly what I just booted/benched with. Try giving that a shot.

I am putting together my first build right now and was planning on getting the EP45-UD3P as the backbone of my system.
I have never overclocked, but would like to get the most out of my system which will be mostly used as a media center, downloading, storing and playing movies and music as well as some editing and photoshop etc.
Will this board easily allow me to change settings and get the best out of my pc without too much involvement in the overclocking process? It seems pretty daunting as I read more and more about it.

Found a bug on this board, it wont boot with something installed on the first pci slot on top of the 2nd pci- 16x slot, it never ending cold boots., bottom one worked fine. Anyone else have this?
Does this board (UD3P) have a NB temp sensor? In easytune, I see a cpu and a "system" temp. The system temp stays right around 32C on my board regardless of load or voltages that I've tried (I'm using the stock NB/mosfet cooler). But everest reports a "motherboard" temp that spikes to about 50C under orthos load- could this be the NB temp?
And as far as the stock cooling on the board, doesn't the blue metal plate covering the heatsinks block air contact with the underlying heatsink fins? It does have nice bling effect, but it seems to be counterproductive to heat dissipation.
On the plus side, I was able to find a use for my 4x1gb OCZ flex pc9600 RAM- I got my e8400 to 4GHz (500x8) with this memory at 1200MHz (5-5-5-15) stable for 12hrs of orthos blend on the first try using the info I've seen posted in this thread.

could someone please help me out with cpu ref/voltages on this board. coming from the P5Q-deluxe and maximusII i was almost understanding it,but on this board it only has the one cpu ref adjustment. unlike the before stated boards P5Q had 0.635 0/3-0.667 1/4 settings and the maxII had adjustment in mv(-40).any help would be welcome. thank you

So I guess cpu and mch reference can be tuned understandably via ET6 because I need to put cpu reference above 0.85 and mch reference above 0.9 in BIOS to be able to boot at 500fsb.:confused: So I just put it on auto in BIOS.

i cant set pl9 w1:1 divider above 450 fsb for some reason . it just wont boot,then when i go back in bios get the red OC failure box, but i was able to drop to pl8 with 5:6 divider.http://i38.tinypic.com/e7o3ki.jpg
Well I just found another bug with this board. It seems that you cannot put a sound card on the second PCI slot (PCI2). When I was trying to install the X-Fi drivers, it would freeze or end up with a weird message. Then I got constant lock-ups and sometimes I was unable to boot into Windows.
So I put my card on the first PCI slot (PCI1) and got everything working. :/
Kind of sucks because it's right next to my GTX... limiting airflow and more or likely will heat up much quicker. :shakes:

I have a stupid question: how do I set mem dividers of more than 1:1 on this board (i.e., mem slower than FSB)? I can figure out 5:6 by using a 2.4 multi in the 333mhz strap but there are no multipliers that would let me use 6:5 (for example).
Also, I have 4x1GB of mediocre memory. I can get 430FSB++ with only 2 sticks in but with 4 I get stuck at 410 or so, so obviously the limiting factor is that something can't handle 4 sticks but 2 are ok. Short of upgrading to 2x2GB, are there any tweaks to MCH or DRAM voltage or other settings in BIOS that would push that up a littles?

@nugzo, what do you have set for memory performance mode for 1:1 pl9? (standard,turbo, extreme). cause i cant seem to get it to run 1:1 pl9above 450fsb. maybe you could post all your settings in the bios for me.thank you.
I upgraded my Power Supply today. I used another HDD and then my system came totally unstable. But the Power Supply was necessary anyways cuz now i can OC my GTX 280 a lil further. So imma hopin i can push my Quad also a lil further. Will try later and see what performance gain i can still achieve.
I try to lower the CPU VTT so keep the ratio between CPU VTT and MCH REFERENCE ( CPU VTT 1.28 MCH REF 0.75 ) and pulldown a bit so BIOS will automatic keep ratio to proper voltage and I think it's finally stable for E8600

For MCH Refrernce , You need to adjust voltage to keep ET6 see 0.70000 in windows (for me) what ever your CPU VTT is.

Any reason as to why you are using the F3 BIOS? I would think that the latest BIOS would be better ...:confused:
Heyy..Did anybody succesfully using S3 mode above 400 fsb? At default BIOS setting and 390 fsb with quad ; the S3 function properly.
But at 395 fsb and so on it will continuously reboot in a loop with a blank screen when I wake it up.
i've been using S3 at 420 or so. For other reasons (mainly my 4 x 1gb of cruddy memory), it's not stable in prime for more than an hour or so, but it does work fine with S3. Sounds like you might have a power supply problem.
im going to give pangingIII settings a try.
Does anyone know how to set the BIOS so mem divider ends up with slower DRAM than FSB?

I am going to be getting the UD3P board and I am looking for some good memory recommendations.
I would like to get 2 X 2GB modules. Faster RAM seems pretty hard to find and the recommended RAM list from the Gigabyte site seems pretty limited. Any recommendations for 1300 or 1200 RAM that will work with the UDP3?

My board is the UD3R version
I have a dual (E8500) w/ C0 stepping
I have all of the Intel power management settings enabled in BIOS (I think there are 3 of them, EIST and some C2/C4 settings)
I could try testing with and without USB Legacy disabled but at the moment it is disabled and S3 is working. I don't know how to correct trfc but if someone explains it to me I could do it and report (I good wif the maths) EDIT: i see on some OCZ page they say set it to 54, is that what you are talking about?
I feel your pain because on my old MOBO (Asus P5W DH) I would lose the extra .5 multiplier on my CPU when it came out of S3, going from 9.5x to 9x, which obviously was unacceptable. That is one of the main reasons I upgraded to my P45-UD3
On the divider question,
I think my current mem settings are at 333 + 2.00 which with FSA @ 400+ is giving me 1:1 timings. I'll double-check that though.
2gb sticks that will reliably do 1200+ mhz are not easy to come by from what I've seen, and expensive if you do find them (the Gskill pc9600 2gb sticks come to mind). I was reluctant to try 4x1gb sticks on this board, but my four 1gb sticks of OCZ PC9600 seem to be perfectly stable so far at 1200 mhz with a fsb of 500.Quote:

i think this's pretty good latency for 1:1 and at stock memory timing,
and it's my max PL9 at 1:1 for the RAM and MCH core voltage i use in the BIOS.
