very cooooooooollll,
Also pulled a 130k+ 03 score at lower clocks, but there is still some weird throttling going on with vista making the scores go all over the place. Need to to spend alot of time tuning there seperate from vantage before anything else.[/QUOTE]
Are you aware that this card is capible of throttling itself?
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforc...review-test/11
we need a GOOD aircooler for this card...
I just pulled a 962FPS in 01 nature with card at 700/1200Mhz.. 4280Mhz on cpu.
lol you are talking to kinpin
there is no one here with more knowledge on how cooling impacts OCing on these and possible issues as he's been testing them for a while lol
throttling he is talking about is not what you linked to either. In fact that article is not talking about throttling but power management of these cards. They've been designed to turn off any unused part of the chip and also lower frequencies to reduce idle power consumption but that does not affect performance in any way
Vince is talking about coldbug throttling most likely where silicone at certain temperature starts to show some irregularities
Well done k|ngp|n , amazing  You know what we need now huh ? 30k in performance preset ... :yepp:
Are you still benching man ? :p:  Don't tell me your brain blew up :DQuote:

Hi I would like to ask if you've tested the cards on Crysis very High @2560x1600 no AA/AF. Thanks :)
Just got my hands on a GTX 280. I am still searching for it's max.
My first swipe @ Vantage with a single GTX 280. It was @ 665|2300. Driver 177.35.

Pleaase tell me I :banana::banana::banana:ed up somehow on these and NVIDIA did not just open the can of woop ass that I think they did? These were "easy as hell" clocks
240litres delivered later today...
Lol Vince, thats truly sth... have u re runned the three runs?...
280s @ king of vantage...
hahaha now that's a can of whoopass right there
i know you're too busy having nerd sex with these cards but damn it have a look at your PMs :p::rofl:

Ha, ha, ha............ There we go again!........ :D
Boring... because NV limited GTX 200 and 128SPs-G92 to 110 steps/s, what you see if you compare with other results.
I hoped to see what you can really do with your 4.3TFLOPs. :D
Nvidia PhysX patch ftw I would guess ;)
Yep, off the charts.
Physx patch opened it up big time.
Awesome!!!
1 driver out and Vantage is owned, Entry level scores as 3Dmark01.

great benches and nice hardware pr0n, too bad i can't afford ln2 as im an unemployed 15 year old :P
So Vince when did you sign the shoe deal? Why did you go with Etnies, I always thought you were a DC guy?
jake, that is the worst picture ever :P
Sorry freak for some reason my camera is acting up.
Great scores , new drivers are ...

Sorry for OT: rofl :D Harry Potter muahaha
Come on VInce, break 100k, that setup is able to do more than what you have shown ^^
Did you guys manage to get even dual GTX280 SLI working on skulltrail ?
I have a skulltrail system but cant decide what graphics cards are best to get considerign all the lanes are PCI-E 1.1.
I think maybe 5800mhz+ could do low 90's, but 100k is pushing it.
Futuremark removed all the gtx280 scores from the orb and has now instituted their driver approval policy for vantage as well as the other 3dmarks guys. They are just doing their job as driver approval policy implementation is normal for 3dmark and was already planned for vantage.
I wonder if the timing had something to do with that :banana::banana::banana:ing lame ass article the inquirer wrote about NVIDIA cheating yesterday  That article is the biggest POS I have ever seen btw, looked liked it was co-written by AMD and INTEL
Until they implement NVIDIA's physX technology into the scoring officially, we will have to run EIGHT benchmarks on LN2 for vantage...4 presets with approved/non physX drivers if you want HOF spot, and then again with the physX drivers for the big numbers and highest scores :D
Here are some new vantage high scores :D

Sweet update and Vince its all about keep pushing it...
"Based on the specification and design of the CPU tests, GPU make, type or driver version may not have a significant effect on the results of either of the CPU tests as indicated in Section 7.3 of the 3DMark Vantage specification and whitepaper."
Since NVIDIA's PhysX driver affects dramatically to results of CPU tests it might never be accepted as official score.
Sampsa you know that the test is a Physics test, no one expected it to be so strong/body slam ATI.
End result is the consumers get more for their money for the better performing card in physics, ATI wants nothing more than to snuff it as quickly as possible or they loose more market share.
Im running UT3 now and blown away. Vince we gotta meet up online and battle it out.
Nice score bump btw.
Yes sure, but regarding to Futuremark's rules it was designed to test CPU Physics, not GPU physics which is ALREADY being tested in Game tests 1 & 2. The "problem" Futuremark is facing is that NVIDIA bought AGEIA in the middle of 3DMark Vantage development.
And since there are alot more games using Havok's physics engine than AGEIA's PhysX it's kinda stupid that Futuremark implemented support for PPU in the first place.
Anyway, will be interesting to see how things go on. Lets stay in the subject. Sorry about offtopic :)
So sweet numbers k|ngp|n.., mama mia.., :-)
One more :)
The Inquirer article was written by Charlie Demerjian. Rumor says this happened in Taiwan Computex 2008:
"Perez started laying down some ground rules, Charlie said, no, no, hell, no, what the F**’s wrong with you, you deaf – no.
Body builder and short fused Perez had had just about enough and before anyone could blink, karate trained Perez had ninjaed his dish of eggs right into Charlie’s face.
Swift acting guards quickly defused the situation as Demerjian was in the process of loading his quart bottle of Coke with Mentos – the carnage was avoided but it was a tense few moments. Both men were escorted out of the restaurant, through separate doors and the police took over after that."

OMG. That is for real sampsa? :D
The guys at futuremark are really cool (at least the ones I've met) and I understand their position with the techncial aspect of the rules 100%. They have alot to balance over there with their resources and they do a great job.
The nv cheat article just seems really over the top with not so nice adjectives used. "usually sleazy way" for wanting to push physx on gpu...
The press just plain annoys me.
Don't take it seriously Vince, but what the hell do we now? Two sets of benches, one with physics drivers and one for hall of fame? That's all that matters in the 3D Team section. :p:
The Inquirer editor Charlie is known of hating NVIDIA and favoring AMD/ATI in his news posts and you can clearly see that in the text. If you remove all bad-mouthing and insults about NVIDIA and their products, some of the content actually makes sense. Anyway, I think he might have deserved the cake on his face :)
ROFL, that is priceless Sampsa thanks link.
You are getting there Vince. 5.6 GHz, that CPU can do more, right? ;)
Vantage release had the worst timing ever. If everything would be like this from the beginning, the reputation of Vantage would be a lot higher. Scores changed way too much on the same system since Vantage came out. But regardless of what Futuremark allows to be published on the ORB, review sites will use the PhysX driver as Nvidia is making sure everybody gets the driver. A lot of review sites got the pro license from futuremark and use the latest drivers, so non enthusiastic people see those big numbers and how AMD/Ati gets that low scores though the hardware is not that slow in real world applications (games).
You have to admit that for an outsider it is hard to keep track of the current results when on the exact same system the final score increased by almost 50% using the PhysX driver. But what I don't get is why Futuremark allowed to take physics cards into the scoring system. Even though Ageia was bought in the middle of the development of Vantage, they could have disabled that scoring system for physics cars and so GPU physics, in case the scoring works that way..
I wish the would have taken 06 and add more fireflies to the forest and a non physics test ^^
i know personally im just going to just run the physx drivers and skip orb until they decided what they are going to do...
who really wants to run 4 vantage benchmarks with physx and then downgrade the driver and watch it re-run slower at the same clockspeeds..
With the advent of hwbot, who really gives too much of a :banana::banana::banana: about orb HOF anyway
http://overclockingpin.com/final%20g...le-tek9-40.jpg
Nice setup ,,
keep pushing it !!
May i ask why Vince is not using a QX9770 or even a Skulltrail setup? Why only a QX9650? Wouldn't he get higher score then?
Doesn't a QX9770 OC better than the 9650? Or is the clock the only difference between them?
they are the same internally, but the qx9770 sports a native 1600fsb.. I guess sometimes it's nicer to just test with a trusty cpu which you know works well at 5.6ghz rather than finding a new one that isn't cold bugged and might go a little further.. my WAG
Where can I snag a NB cooler like that ? Looks like it works better than stock.
Yes,I do,give me a new WR each 2 weeks and it's settled :D
At this level of o'cing, the naming of the CPU doesn't matter, what matters is it speed, now every top-overclocker has a good clocking QX9650(5.6Ghz to 6Ghz range),so they simply stick with it,unless AndreYang is giving Vince(aka K|ngp|n) some new golden CPU's(something with a LGA1366 socket would be nice:p:)
Just get a old heatsink from a motherboard, put thermal paste,a powerful fan and you're ready to go
The 9650co has had better days in quad. It's still going 2 cores pretty good though Tell me you have seen a 9650 last longer or take more abuse then whats been thrown at this chip :D
This cpu has spent 99% of it's VERY long life benching -120 to -130c and 1.94v average voltage. I rarely run it on air and it has take so many WR's I can't even count them. VERY GOOD CHIP...
First round windows XP benching using two gtx280's in SLI went good.
Gonna switch over to 9770c1 5.7-5750mhz/475-500fsb quad capable for 2006on my final runs, but the 9650 is putting out again for 05 which is good.
Really want to see NV up top again in 2006..hopefully tonight
If this CO chip could still do 5900mhz 06, it would have been lights out last night in 2006 :D
http://overclockingpin.com/32223-xp-SLI.jpg
http://overclockingpin.com/39631-05-SLI.jpg
k|ngp|n, does the 40k or more (41k?) is possible with 2xGTX280 in 05 ?
Just go for the QX9770C1, don't forget my WR's:D
Fatalbert:look at his GPUs clocks in 06 and 05,if he can push the 06 GPU clocks to the 05 I guess he might well get 40K
Why does he use a higher CPU clock for 05 than 06?
Ok thanks, how can he make it stable then but to keep the 5.8ghz clock in 06 and vantage?
The C1 is stronger but mine has -100c cold bug, I am sure there are better ones out there.
very nice start to the old benchmarks.., :-)
any chip that goes past 5.6 '06 is a monster lol :D
good work there mate
what is this cold bug ppl speak about?
k|ngp|n : Your card is unmodded, right?:)
They are modded.
C1 has seen better days as well and is more sensitive to cold than C0 on evga mobo. -125c on gt1,2,3,4 and cpu tests -130c max for C1. Chip needs colder to scale all the way though so I am running each game test at max temp on the edge with this chip.
FSB goes like hell though @490+ FSB and lower cpu speed and just 200 points to go...was so close during chip testing on teh evga mobo, but CPU started freaking out from all the voltage after awhile. Gotta crank it to run this FSB on LN2 even for 5600mhz :D. Corsair 1800C7's are screaming here...
http://overclockingpin.com/32397-2006.jpg
looking really nice..! :-) .., you will get there.., no doubt in my mind.. :-)
C1 is really nice I think there will come some nice 32m when there is a good chip
awsome man, wish i had the money/sponsors to do that
Wicked scores you have there k|ngp|n.
I have to admit, I don't think the new drivers are cheating in anyway. It's not like it's skipping any part of the test......it is just being calculated by another part with the same end results only faster. Now if it was taking parts of the test out, that would be cheating.
Damn... That was fast... heck very FAST System Kingpin! damn... i want that setup!!!
Nice result Vince, I can't wait to get mine dialed in.
@DPA cpu is still goign strong 5.8+ 2 cores :D, but enable core 2 and 3 and won't load windows lol.
New Vantage HIGH scores with EVGA gear. Doesn't really matter what futuremarks policy is for vantage atm... NVIDIA physX rocks this benchmark and it's lame to run it any other way for top scores :D. The other side(s) will kick and scream for awhile until they get something of their own going ..and then of course it will be ok
