What are the changes in the beta version?

I see a new GPU benching module in this beta.Looks a lot like furmark

where is this option hidden? :)

OCCT GPU load test gets a 9800 GTX to 80°C in less than 5min ; Furmark 1.4 still running (for more than 15min) and still at 74~75°C

Temps are still wrong for wolfdale and it reads the 5v and 12v wrong on 790i ftw (12v reads under 7v). Other than that it's a great test.

For me Built-in soft Monitoring show all correct,wolfdale temp correct.

it's a separate exe.
in the OCCTPT folder, there is another folder called OCCTGPU

Only in beta 5 and 6,RC1 don't have.

All right, I tried 0.41 and I can confirm that it does not work with multi GPU configurations. Using Catalyst 8.10 RC2, it only loads one of the four GPUs on my 2x 4870X2s.

Try OCCT GPU in fullscreen mode, it should work... i have to admit i don't have any crossfire @ home to test that though ;)

As for explanations : OCCT is going through a HUGE revamp. Not as deep as the perestroika, but still, really deep.

Right now, you have 3 branches :
2.0.x : OCCT as you know it
2.1.x : OCCT with the GPU test included
3.0.x : not released yet : OCCT with the GPU test, GPU memory test done in Cuda and a new user interface (not ALL new mind you, but made to deal with those tests).

Right now, i'm working on 3.0.0. I'm releasing 2.0.1 stable in a few days to update the monitoring engine which was a bit old, and because there'll be some time until 3.0.0 is released.

Those errors comes from HWmonitor, which isn't perfect yet. As i'm using his engine, i don't have any control on that. Feel free to contact HWmonitor's programmer to help him fix those bugs :)

PS : CUDAMemTest is reliable now, even if slow. I'm working with Nvidia on a bug i found in CUDA, happenning under vista only. Do not be surprised by OCCT's speed at testing the GPU memory : one pass executes in about 10s (on my 9800GTX), and 2 passes are almost equal to one pass of the regular Memtest. I'm still working on implementing new tests to be as close as possible to memtest86 as i can. The "Random" test is especially under way, and almost complete !

As you can imagine, implementing all those new tests without knowing either Direct3d or CUDA was quite a challenge ;)

As of 0.41, you can't select stress testing and full screen at the same time. Also, in fullscreen, I would have no way to monitor if all GPUs were loaded. Maybe an FPS increase would show that they were, but then how could you be sure if it was just using 2 or 3 GPUs rather than all four?

Finally, in stress testing, the GPU fails to switch to 3D mode and remains at 2d clocks.

Stress testing and fullscreen : true, i neevr thought of that. That is a clear limitation though, that will never be removed. I have to keep the window small enoguh so that the CPU will not be overwhelmed by pixels to check. A Picture in 1680x1050 has 1 764 000 pixels, one in 512x512 has 262 144 pixels...

For the 3d mode switch, this is driver controlled, not application controlled. The only thing i can say is that ATI's drivers are poorly made on that regard, and that they won't switch to 3d mode if you're rendering something in a window. And it's quite good for them, as some of their recent graphic cards have cooling that are really unefficient, and OCCT GPU makes them hot, hot, hot...

ATI even reduced Furmark's speed (and iu'm currently more efficient than furmark) to 20fps so that the GPU won't overheat. They did that in the drivers. Rename furmark's executable to something like "3dmark06" and things will get hot again.

I'll get on the 3d mode switch as soon as i can, in window mode, to see if i can get things running. I wish i had an ATI to test that, though :/

Thanks for your great work though! Especially the GPU test... until now, there really hasn't been a reliable GPU stress test. Even with renamed furmark, it won't make the GPUs hot enough for the fans to spin up. With your GPU test, even only stressing one of the cores, the fan spins up almost instantly after starting the test!

I'll try to give a shot at finding dead pixels in fullscreen mode. Maybe it'll :
1- make the driver switch to 3d mode
2- use all the GPUs

However, it'll take me some time to achieve, as i'm deep into the new user interface of 3.0.0 as of now, and i don't want to leave that until finished. Be sure i'll be posting here once i do it to see how your config behaves ;)

Yeah that sounds great! And you can still use a low resolution in full screen, the same as it is windowed.

It's the complexity. The higher the coef, the higher the complexity. I use this parameter to adjust the frames calculated per second, as no known CPU can check 200 frames per second to see if there's any error. That would mean checking 200*512*512 pixels, which is truly... enormous. I had to find a way around that issue.

As i said, i'm working on 3.0.0. I spent 8 hours on it today, mostly on the interface. I can tell you what OCCT PT 3.0.0 will add :
* 2 CPU tests : the regular OCCT and one based on Intel's Linpack libraries
* 1 GPU test (the one you currently know) with error checking (and yes, i'll try to do that in fullscreen mode)... or pure burn
* 1 GPU memory test written in CUDA (similar to MemTest86, but for Graphic cards)
* 1 Power Supply test (which is OCCT CPU Test + GPU test)
* New interface (will have some common traits with the old one though, but it had to be modified to comply with all the tests i'm introducing recently

I've already worked about 3 months on that (GPU test and CUDA took a long, long time), i expect i still have about 2 months of work, but it should be ready soon enough ;)

the GPU tests are very interesting too, a load test ALA CPU will definitely be put to good use by many

This program is sounding like a beast! Definitely have some amazing additions lined up. Thanks soo much for all your time and effort in coding this amazing app for us. Sorry for the long reply delay.

The Crash code 1 is always accompanied by a code 4 somewhere. Code 1 just means that the thread stopped because another thread reported an error. This is due to the behaviour of OCCT i wanted : one error detected on a core = we stop everything. Code 4 means an error was detected, that the result computed was different than the one expected.

It should be much more explicit on 3.0.0.

I have to say i'm really busy these days with 3.0, and that i'm getting closer every day to release. There's still some way to go before beta1 though. I'd say it should be out within a month.

In all versions so far,5v and 12v are incorrect when using the evga 790i ftw.

This latest thing is broken. CPU usage percentage is all borked up (just look the image). And also doesn't seem to kick CPU to full speed. Instead it's "idling" in power saving state (1,8GHz instead at full 3,7GHz).

That's because you enabled Power saving features, that reduce your CPU speed when it's idling.

OCCT displays the real frequency of your CPU. You should see it kick up once the test is started, and the "real" one is recorded in the graphs ;)

Erm, no. Last version 2.0.0a kicked in from power saving state to full throttle just fine. This one just stays in power saving mode even after the testing actually starts.
Default clock is for processors original clock, CPU clock is the actual current clock which always reflects the current clock, even when changing power saving states.
I even checked the CPU cycles with perfmonitor and it was showing 3750 cycles (menaing 3750MHz) while OCCT was showing 1800MHz clock (like on image above).

Erm, true, my bad.

It seems the test didn't start though. The CPU usage % is just not right as well. As the test isn't started, the frequency doesn't jump up - there's no need for that.

I'll look into it ASAP.

The voltages are screwed up on the screen on 3.0 because the ini file i used is for test purposes ;) Don't worry, this screenshot is about 2 weeks old, and it's working flawlessly.

For 2.0.1, as on your screen, you can always tune up the voltages in the options, and select the good sensors if they aren't detected automatically, or screwed up.

i'll post b01 once it's done here. I expect t to be ready in a week or two...

The CUDAMemTest isn't really usefull with my 8800GT,
it completes the Test at 1170MHz, this is barely stable for a 3DMark, let alone gaming, perhaps more passes (infinite loop) will help

Experience proves that CudaMemTest is indeed nt really useful in Overclocking. It won't detect easily errors. Don't ask me why.

However, it'll be priceless to detect manufacturing errors, as THOSE will be detected. I already detected a few faulty graphic cards.

This is clearly stated in the new OCCT help panel.

I used to have a few programs to test stability , but if OCCT is coming up with this it looks like it's the only program i will need . nice job :up:

yeh I usually use 10-20 IBT for initial stability, then 2hr OCCT to be sure, occasionally just 50 pass IBT if i'm lazy. Needless to say inclusion of linpack was a GREAT idea.

I've never spent that much time on a version of OCCT, but for the jump OCCT v0 <=> OCCT Perestroïka. I hope it'll be as successfull :)

As for the communist theme : i did it purely for fun, as OCCT is close to "CCCP" when you say every letter. Believe me or not, but :
* About 25% of my downloads are from Russia ( i was the very first one surprised by OCCT's success over there)
* Some people (i had 2 americans, one english, a swedish, and a italian guy) complained about me being communist and that is bad and thus OCCT is bad etc etc etc. I even thought about including a line stating "The theme is for fun only" :D

Ima start using this vs P95 now I think, finding out sooner is always better than being happy and 10 hours later FAILZ.

I'm using version 3.0 and I ran the PSU test and my computer powers off within 5 seconds of testing. Does this mean I have an insuffient powersupply or the PSU is crapping out on me. I should say that my computer powers off after 4 mins of playing crysis. I absolutely have no issues with temperatures on my motherboard, CPU and video cards.

e8400 @ 4.2
4 gigs of ram OCZ
