Hehe Thanks guys :)
MORE STUFF ARRIVED! I am so excited! I will post more pics in a few mins!
Hahaha I know what you feeling now! :D
keep posting!
Third post updated with more pics!
So, what do you guys think about the result of the neopropene and backplate ? :D
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/78666080.jpg
looks good patriote...
That dell monitor looks real nice!!!
Nice 24! I think we need to sign you up for on-line shoppers anonymous :)
Re the pump sleeving ... can you provide a quick update on how you did it? I want to do mine, but not sure which way to attack it.
Do you know what brand back plate left the sticky stuff you cleaned? Kinda curious.
Those components can be crushed as well as shorted. I remember having to cut a couple of clearance holes in a Zalman 9700 backplate I initially used. 9700 users were having to do that or rma the board all over the evga forum, untill evga revised behind the socket.
it's the backplate that come's with tuniq tower...
I thought the sticky stuff was from the earlier back plate and he's using another from his Tuniq now.
Thanks for the comments guys! :D
You are right m8! The friend who sold me the board had that back-plate customized to fit behind the mobo. No clue which one it is but i know he modded it.
Yeah, that 24" kicks some major @sses! :yepp: It looks small on the pic but if you look at it and compare it to my U2-UFO on the pic, knowing that the U20UFO is 18.5" per 18.5" per 18.5", you know that it's huge! lol
I am going to update the third post again since i just finished cleaning my room and also finished mounting everything on the bench table :D Check this out!
Now, my only concern is that i am FREAKING SCARED AND NERVOUS about pressing the power button for that beast lol
hey patriote you got your pc up and running yet?
Big problem guys...
Yesterday night and this morning, i have been trying to figure out a problem. I have posted my problem on EVGA forums. Let's see what gives but i am like 90% sure that one of the PCI-Express slot on my mobo is dead.
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=126564
did you dl the latest vista 64 geforce 8 series driver's???
hmmmmm...Quote:
Of course i did. But thats not the point. I can't even boot with a single 8800GTX in the top slot now. I get a long beep followed by 2 short beeps...
What error code are you getting on post?If it say's ff should be working if not then i don't what's the go...
I would rma the board if i were you...
ouch. more delays...
did you like forget one power connection to the mobo or something? best to be sure, i myself forgot this one time...
All is connected. Even the 4-pin molex connector for SLI. Not that i am thinking of this, maybe i shouldn't plug it? More testing is definitely required.
I'll work on it tonight and tomorrow. If i can't get anything, i'll RMA the board and will buy a new one right tomorrow. When the RMAed one gets back, it'll be for sale. NO MORE TIME TO WASTE!
That sucks man... I forgot to plug in the 4/8pin power to the mobo one time and it wouldn't boot... you sure that's plugged in?
Im sure it is ;) Anyway, i am able to boot. Hell, i am typing to you on that comp. But it just seems that the UPPER PCI-Express slot is dead. Which refrain me from doing SLI. I didn't bought 2 G80s to end up using only 1!
must....continue....my...custom...MM....build...
dual loops, ek blocks, pumps, fans, lights, case=over a grand.
Going out today to get a new mobo. If i can't find the EVGA 680I A1, do you guys think the P5N32-SLI Deluxe would cut it?
ive heard its a good board, but thats it. all i got is a Intel BX2, so what do i know, lol :D
Well, well, well... Guys, ive been to 3 local store i could found near where i live today and neither had an EVGA 680I A1 nor the P5N32-SLI Deluxe...
Also, just a few mins ago, i removed the Tuniq tower and back-plate thinking it would help, i also tried a few other things but neither would make the comp boot on screen with a GPU in the upper slot.
Hell, i tried to boot without any GPU at all and it gave me the same error beep code i get when 1 GPU is hooked in the upper slot. Which i suppose means that the upper PCI-E is really dead. What really bug me is that it has worked for the original boot. The very first boot i did back 2 days ago, I had hooked both card in SLI with the bridge and had connected my DVI cable into the first card in the upper PCI-Express slot. Which means that it was working at that time. Right when i had a look around in the bios and rebooted to save the changes, the upper PCI-Express slot had died. After that, it worked 1 or 2 times again but it would always fail when i'd reboot.
Now, it's true and sure, i need a new mobo.
See? This is how things are for me. It's always like that. I did not even started my watercooling project yet and already problems are starting to take place. What a pain man...
such is the horrors of the 680i :/
this might be silly but did ya try clearing the cmos?
Patriote,
I see that you are getting another EVGA A1. You're in good shape. If you ever need, don't buy a P5N32..make sure you buy a Striker Extreme rev. 1.03g (and not a rev. 1.00). But you don't need such advice now.
hows the search for a new mobo going?? I hope you get it soon...
This build is gonna be a good one... Very nice stuff patriote
cheers
too bad about the mobo, but good luck on sourcing 1 out...
Wow Patriote! I love seeing all the stuffs you're getting an unpacking. Excellent choices of hardware. Looks like X-mas arrived a little early for you. Congrats!!! :)
Sorry to hear about your mobo. Two of my friends went through the same ordeal with evga. One went through 2 RMA's and the other 4 RMA's until they all got a working A1 board. ***Becareful of those caps and resistors around the chipsets if you're going to watercooled those.
Looking forward to your progress and more pics of your uber rig.
Thanks YugenM :D
Small update on third post ;)
any update's patriote?
Started working on the case. Cleaning the case, cleaning the parts, preparing them for the upcoming EVGA 680I A1 which i am still patiently waiting.
I have a bunch of pics, i will upload and post them later tonight. I just finished reinstalling Vista Ultimate X64 on my old rig. I put back the defective 680I A1 in it's box and am ready to ship it back for RMA to my friend tomorrow.
You guys have no idea how impatient i truly am lol Not only for this build but in general so waiting for a new board when everything is waiting for it is just pissing me... Oh well!
haha you know what i just realized, your old desk is exactly the same desk i just got rid of! I just replaced mine with this... its a northfield credenza from bush :)
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...2/DSCF1403.jpg
Update! Check 3rd post!
This is really becoming 56K Murder! Way too much pics on the same page, what should i do guys?
PS: Spawne32, the desk looks sweet :) Except that my killer mouse pad would never fit on that thing :p:
lol i rekon i click on the 1st page walk off for a few mins to let it load....lolQuote:

Looking real good so far mate...Looking 4ward to finished rig...
When u do the pencil mod on your 680i please take pic's of it i want to do the same with my board
cheers
does anybody still use 56k? i don't think so, but maybe it will make a come back like the 80's!?!?!
UPDATE!
Updates will now be posted by reply since the first page was getting way too long to load...
Sorry for the long wait guys but i have been having major problems getting a freaking EVGA 680I A1 to work! First mobo had a dead PCI-Express slot and the second one just refuse to boot... Nothing not even a beep code or any letters\numbers on the leds. It's basically DOA. I'm sending back the second one to the person i bought it and will get a refund on it. As for the first one, tomorrow im sending it to my good friend and he will take care of getting a replacement from his local store and send me the new one, which i am hoping that will work flawlessly...
All right so here is what i have worked on the last 2 weeks.
Tearing apart and cleaning the whole loop which has been sitting there for a week now...

Still have to find the right place for the pumps. The HDDs will be hooked on the front fan under the 5.25 bays so the second pump can't go there. I think the first pump for the CPU\Chipset loop will be in front of the motherboard and the second pump (for the second loop) might go under the EK res so that i will be able to router the tubing under the HDDs and up to the Pa120.2 barb. I'll have to turn around the Ek Res and remove the side barb to hook it under the res. We'll see! More coming as i receive the new EVGA 680I A1 mobo...
Hope you enjoyed!
nice work mate...sorry to hear about your mobo woes...
looking 4ward to more updates
I'm assuming the hammer in the first picture is going to be used to smash the eVGA 680i board?
Yeah that or to smash myself for buying 2 used boards
You my friend have the worst luck ever :(
I will have the replacement for your first mobo as fast I can. I will see if they will test to confirm defect while I am in the shop and they will give me a retail box right after. Gotta love Memoryexpress IPR program
I went through a hardware killing phase about two years ago. I killed a DFI NF4 Ultra-D, and a FX-53 and 2 kits of TCCD all within a two week span. I couldnt beleive it, but haven't killed anything since.
It is too bad my board died tho. It was a cherry board and ran perfectly. I hope the new one is good to go too. I will have to test it for you before I send it, the worst thing I can imagine is sending you the replacement and it tossing C1 at you.
Keep your chin up laddy:) You will have one bad ass rig and one hell of a story at the end of this build
Thanks man, you are a real friend
Oh wow! Patriote, I feel your pain mate. You must be totally jonesing for this mobo.
Go do a good deed. Change your luck.
man, I hate dying hardware... :shakes:
great job so far Patriote, I was just thinking, did you get that bench table from somewhere, or did you make it yourself? (sorry if that's obvious, couldn't find it)
I believe he got it from NCIX, Highspeed PC is what its called:

Update! 11/02/2007 1:52AM
Hey Guys, guess what?
New and fresh board arrived! Thanks Turtletrax! Much love man!
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5240.jpg
I also placed a new order @ NCIX.com
1 - G9 Mouse
1 - G11 keyboard
2 - Thermochill Chrome barbs for my PA120.2 :)
More to come. Tomorrow i have to hook that new board and see if it's working like i want it to work! If not, then it's http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...f61fc1a4e3.gif http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...tlesuicide.gif http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...tesuicide2.gif right away...
awesome!!!
what happened to your tarantula keyboard??? didn't have any in stock (for replacement)??
great, good luck (crossing fingers) ;)
you have klipsch speakers. Wow they are some of the highest quality brands.
I don't care who you are, cylindrical rads are sexy!
Yeah man, those speakers are the sh*t. You have no idea. 199.99$ for 2.1 speakers, they better kick major arses! And they do!
Umm... lol ok :p:
Updates will be posted tonight :) I have been working on the comp for 2 days now. Didn't started the watercooling tho. Just Air stuff for now. But the watercooling project will begin soon! Keep an eye on the thread ;)
@ Turtletrax
Man, really, much respect and love  The board is running super fine for now. No problem @ all. I even hooked the Tuniq tower with the back-plate and neopropen stuff and it's working awesomely. Temps are great as well :)
PS: I gotta walk to the PO and grab my new keyboard, mouse and barbs tomorrow! :p:
Nice!!!
Small Update! November 05-2007
Ok, so as i said, the new board from my good friend Turtletrax is working :)
I had some problems tho. At first, i hooked everything (4GB RAM, G80s in SLI and Q6600) on air with stock cooler and booted. All went fine. I installed Vista and all required and latest drivers, loaded 3Dmark06 and got a 13k result... I was like WTF! I do that on a Single 8800GTX with my E6600 @ 3.7Ghz and RAM @ 1000Mhz 5-5-5-15 on my P5B Deluxe. So, i worked around. Installed a fresh Vista copy again, tried single card, formated again, reinstalled drivers lots of times etc... and finally, i thought "Hey, im running 2 8800GTXs in SLI on a Stock Q6600 (2.4Ghz) and im expecting something like 17k" lol
So, when running with a single 800GTX, i was getting like 10k. Thats all stock. Q6600 G0 @ 2.4Ghz (On stock cooler), Ram @ 800Mhz 5-5-5-15 *2GB* and nothing tweaked in Bios. When running dual cards in SLI, I'd get 13k.
So i thought, maybe by Ocing the CPU, I'll get a higher score? So, i went ahead and teared apart the system. Hooked my Tuniq tower on that new mobo and booted. Now i was running SLI and i started working on the Oc. I oced the Q6600 to 3Ghz with 1.32v Stable. I just ran 3Dmark06 tonight and here is what i got :
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...SLI_15k001.jpg
So that means that Ocing the CPU about 600Mhz = close to 3K more in 3Dmark06! So, for a normal Oc, say 3.6Ghz, I'd get around 18k :) Now thats better Heh! Maybe if i Oc a little more those 8800GTXs factory oced, i can manage 20k!
Anybody in here have 8800GTXs in SLI with a Quad core? What kind of score are they getting? Thanks!
PS: More updates will come tomorrow. I will try to Oc a bit more that CPU tonight and tomorrow i need to go grab my new G11 keyboard, my G9 mouse and those 2 Chrom barbs for my PA120.2! While I'm out, I'll go grab a few bottles of Distilled water @ my drug store :) And I'll get ready for the Watercooling part of the project!
EDIT: Here is where i am going to place the pumps.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5267.jpg
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5268.jpg
I still gotta think how i am going to loop all that. I'll post pics with a new sketch-up tomorrow :) For now, I'm dead tired of that big day @ work... So I'm going to take it easy and go die in my new bed!
PS: Don't mind the dust all over the case... This project (And case..) has been sitting in my table for weeks now..
that score is abit bitter...
i score around 12-13k with a single gtx 650/1020 and quad @ 3.2ghz
I don't have sli running so i can't help ya with that.. sorry
Yeah, it's better now :) Thread Edited BTW!
looking good mate... nice work on all that cable sleeving... i was reading your guide on how to sleeve cable's earlier today... good stuff!! i'm going to sleeve all my fan's pump's etc....
do you know where i can get a good de-pinning tool kit??
Thanks :) How did you found the guide?
Well, for 3pin fans, i use a paper fold and for 4pin molex, i use a blade :) Works well. Since you live in Australia, i really doubt I know of any retailers for you...Heh! But looks for "sleeving tool kits"
Now, I'm having some serious Overclocking issues! I must of booted and restarted hundreds of times yesterday night. Can't seem to boot into windows with 3.3Ghz... It's not related to the FSB since i am able to boot @ 8x CPU multi and 1600FSB. I give the CPU 1.45v for a miserable 3.3Ghz... Something is wrong... More tweaking is required i think...
Hey Patriote.
Try turning the HT link voltage to 1.6v and lower MCP/SPP links down to 4X. Also mess with unlined and linked memory speeds. Also there are FSB holes on the 680i, so upping FSB past the point you are stuck.
Also what MCP chip does the board have? It will either be the 570 or 590.
Hope this isnt another stumbling block...
Thanks guys. Well, just played with it, disabled this, upped this, changed this and voila :
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...Super_PI-2.jpg
Getting somewhere :)
More testing\Tweaking to come...Heh!
PS: Thats 3.5Ghz
OH good ol shazza linked me to them :)
What temp's are you getting @ 3.5ghz???
also have you done the v-drop-v-droop pencil mod for that mobo of your's??
will help alot... it did for me... :)
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=154897
Glad to know that my guide is helping ppls :)
Here is what i been working on :
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...z_2hStable.jpg
BTW: Yeah, i did the vdroop mod! 1.432v IDLE and 1.44v LOAD
Well, it seems that i can't get any higher than 3.5Ghz with that CPU. Last month, i hooked that Q6600 G0 on watercooling on my P5B Deluxe and i couldn't get 3.5Ghz Stable during Prime95 and it would require extremely high voltage just for booting into windows @ 3.6Ghz... Like 1.43v for 3.5Ghz stable and 1.5v just to boot into windows @ 3.6Ghz. I even tried 1.53v and it would still fail during Prime95... Over such voltage and it's completely useless... But i thought it was because i was using that P5B Deluxe and i thought "If i get a Quad core supported mobo such as that EVGA 680I A1" i would be able to go higher but it seems that it's not the case... So, the CPU is limiting the Oc.
The same exact thing is happening. I can do 389x9=3.5Ghz or 438x8=3.5Ghz but really can't do 400x9=3.6Ghz whatever vcore i give the CPU...
I'm stuck here. What do you guys think i should do? Run an E6600 that can do 3.7-3.8Ghz with that system or run a Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz?
There is that QX6850 ES That does 4.1Ghz on watercooling on sale on some forum. I am very tempted :D
stick with your quad @ 3.5ghz !!!
Well, really, 3.5Ghz is GAY GAY! It almost makes me think that if I'm to be stuck @ 3.5Ghz, why would i need watercooling :(
what's the diff between having a quad @ 3.5ghz and 4ghz besides bragging rights??
I don't know of many games that take advantage of raw cpu clock speed...
Maybe getting them gtx's to run faster you need a higher clocked cpu so they wouldn't bottleneck???
Unless you after high benchmarking score's i wouldn't worry 2much...but if you have that much money left to burn go it for it....
Why not just wait for the q9450? :)
I could only get my b3 to 3.4ghz and i was happy...
up 2 u dude... it's your pc...
If you want to get rid of your G0 Quad for cheap let me know :) I need one for my HTPC
Sucks that your chip isnt co-opertating. It is the same date code as my 4Ghz'er is it not? You should be able to get more out of it under watercooling. Worth a shot I would say.
Thats what i said here above m8!
Here is what i got with the Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz, 4GB of RAM running @ 1000Mhz 5-5-5-15 2T 2.05v
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...ark06_175k.jpg
Not bad @ all but I'm looking for more, as always!
On a side note,
Update! November 06-2007
Today i went out to get my new Mouse and barbs since the keyboard wasn't with the package. It seems that those _____ have shipped my stuff from 2 different warehouse and now I'm waiting for the keyboard.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5289.jpg
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5283.jpg
Barbs hooked onto PA120.2
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5292.jpg
Only prob with those barbs is that the ID is smaller... The barbs are basically built (Apparently) for 7/16" ID 5/8" OD Tubing... But it'll be good for my Tygon 1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing if i make sure that it's well clamped...
@ Voltaire2030
Ouais :D
So far, god i love that mouse. Really. I'm impressed!
PS: Could you edit your post so that my pics don't show up in your quote please? ;)
just looking through your thread again... didn't realize how sexy those ek fc gfx wb's are..... (can't wait to get mine)
Also didn't realize we had the same ram until you pointed it out... lol (maybe cuz there were no pic's of it)
:)
Hey Patriote what fans are those blue led fans you are using?
too bad for that quad, I think you should test the scores with the E6600 at 3.8GHz and compare them with your G0, then see if E6600 wins by a small margin, take the G0, if it wins by quite more, use the E6600.
oh, and also you can try upping the FSB from 3.5GHz one (1) step at the time and see where it doesn't want to go more ;) HTH
Update! November 08-2007
Well, things have a bit changed in here. I have ordered 17ft of Tygon 7/16" ID 5/8" OD R-3603 Tubing because i have decided to use smaller tubing instead of that thick 1/2" ID 3/4" OD Tygon i have home. Yes ppls, that will make close to 60ft of freaking Tubing I'll have home... :D
I also order one of those Nozzles accelerator kit for my FuZion. All from Jab-Tech :) Love Jab-Tech...
So as soon as my new QX6800ES G0 (Hint hint :D http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=152228) arrives, i will loop everything together! This Project has been waiting way too long now...
So thats about it ppls!
On a side note, here are 2 pics of what my current set-up looks like :
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5299.jpg
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...M/IMG_5298.jpg
Still, quite impressive IMO!
Dude, I am in love with those cables from that Ultra PSU!!!
... and all this hardware pron you're posting.. keep it up!
Looking damn good.
Can't wait till I get my damn license, So I can work and rebuild my computer.
