Some read points i have found.

I'm subscribing to this thread (new user) as I just returned my Infinity P965-S Dark because the freaking squealing it did was driving me nuts.
I'm a little confused here though; I read Evilsizer said it doesn't support 'fsb dividers'; what do you mean? Like, you can't drop the memory divider?
I think that what he means is that they've removed the manually selectable nortbridge strap option in the current BIOS.
this board is good...but...about on par with my QuadGT except for memory bandwidth....cpu: Q6600 on air
Super PI on IP35 was almost the same at 410 FSB as it was for the QuadGT board.
here is 495 FSB at 7X on the IP35...500 FSB (even at 6X) would freeze on me after 3 minutes of Prime 95:
it's as fast as dfi p965 in Spi32m

My DFI 680i ate my ram, I've been waiting around for these results to decide on a replacement. Only reason I am considering the P35 is because I run a Raid5 array, I'm not really keen on going back to another 680i solution...
HDtach scored my SATA-3 Raid5 at approx 350 burst and 90M read..
Does anyone have Raid-5 benchies for P35, abit or asus?
Hello boys, but someone is successful to send the ram to 1200? I have tried the teamgroup(1200 and extreem 800/1000) and the dominator but I do not succeed....bios 06/06....all divisor, all voltage
I'm setting my board up now. The heatpipes have HORRIBLE contact on the core. Half of the core wasn't even touching the thermal pad. I fixed this by taking the heatpipes off and laying it on the board and by trial and error bent it until it layed flat on the board. This took forever... but now it is perfectly level.
i settled on 8X with 440 FSB...had to fall back from 450 FSB since one of my Dominator DDR2-1142 sticks bit the dust...presently using Teamgroup DDR2-1000...the highest FSB with my Q6600 was to 495 FSB at 7X using the Dominators...Teamgroup could only go to 490 FSB @ 7X...so...3520 Mhz @ 8X OR 3465 Mhz @ 7X ...sligtly better memory bandwidth at the higer FSB...appears to be an even trade off...i prefer raw power over memory bandwidth...years ago, i had the opposite opinion!
[QUOTE=Ace-a-Rue;2257201]...i prefer raw power over memory bandwidth...QUOTE]
Me too that is why I wish Intel would use dividers or find a way to unlink the memory like nvidia. Fast timings and raw CPU horsepower is what I like.
how does this board compare to the p5k deluxe?
First result with Abit IP35 PRO :D
The max FSB is 538MHz in aircooling and cascade... This CPU has a max FSB with P35-DS4 560MHz...
http://users.skynet.be/fb331210/abitip35.jpg
The max CPU-z with the X6800 :)

And to finish, my best SuperPI !
http://users.skynet.be/fb331210/superpi10,56.jpg
It's a very good motherboard and OC Guru works perfect in XP !
Thank you for that. Comparisons always appreciated. :)
Does anyone know how the Gigabyte P35-DS4 compares to the P35-DS3P (for max FSB)? The only difference between the two seems to be the nb/sb/mosfet cooling system.
the P35-DS3P is even more affordable than the Abit.
Sorry if this has already been asked, but what's the vDroop like with these boards? And, does anyone know how the IP-35 vanilla and IP-35E compare?
This board looks promising for sure, and may just be my next upgrade :)
If someone could link up or email me a copy of uguru for IP35 that would be awesome, I left mine in Taipei.
Thanks

I dunno if it is the right one: ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/u...guru_v3104.zip Got it from the first post of this thread...?
Can anyone verify whether the IP35 has SATA/RAID issues, like the P5K?
Is the FSB strap @500 or somewhere else?
(my Commando's is @400).
nice mboard !
btw did someone test ip35-e or ip35 (non-pro) ???
@logigamer : almost the same
god why cant i make more money so i can afford to replace my dead system
and buy this mobo.
dang it.
this AM2 brisbane is killing me compared to my conroe.
£65 - in Poland £75 :D
I have been thinking about ip-35 (non-pro) but its costs £97 - for OTES (i have WC), and FW (i dont use FW) - so its waste of money ... isnt it? ;)
This should answer most of your question:- http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/news/...CNO=uk_0705211
You will have to wait till someone purchases the other boards to see if bios is same:-
http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9...ip35protm5.jpg
Nelly i have seen this few days ago... but like You said there is no information about bios... we must wait
Good luck waiting for bios updates.
everything I've read so far says that it works out of the box though :)
are you referring to DVD SATA drive running concurrently with Raid 0 (on the Intel bus)???...if so, my internal SATA DVD drive works like a charm alongside two 7200.10 seagate drives on the Intel bus in Raid 0!
i can not run Prime 95 more than 3 minutes at 500 FSB or above with my Q6600...i am stuck at 495 FSB for a safe-reliable operating FSB on the IP35 Pro...i can boot into windows at 500 FSB or slightly above but why push it.
Hi,
Didn't see anyone complain about squealing coils, is this board safety squealing less ? As I'm fed up with the second DFI 965 (first one was DOA) that's squealing .
Thx
Actually I was referring to SATA issues in general. SoFarFromHome and others have reported several SATA issues. Don't know if they've been resolved or not but thanks for letting me know about the IP35 in this regard.
495 on a Q6600 is quite good.
I'm wondering if there's a strap in between 400-500 FSB on the IP35 Pro. I've read the DQ6 has a strap change around 417 and some say higher. I'm looking for a board with at least a 485 or higher strap. It will allow me greater flexibility when I go to water.
Well Well, I ordered one of these bad muthas...
Should get it on Thursday, I currently have a lapped 6400 that will do 3.5 easy enough at an 8x multi, I'f its good enough I may replace my AMD rig with a similar setup after the intel price drop and upgrade my CPU too.. we will see.
testing stability

Its pretty hard unless benching to tell the diff between Conroe and a 3600+ @ 2.80GHz :yepp:
Regarding bios updates for this new board, Abit should spend a little time fixing all the other previous mobo bios bugs first (and the list is endless) but I wont hold my breath :shakes:
it definitely needs vdroop mod check out vcore bios value and uguru reading...
0.06 drop.
No squealing here, either.
there is a huge difference when it comes to video conversion, gaming, rar'ing. of which i do alot of HD Video conversions. 720p video conversions as wmv files to play on the xbox 360.
and mine is at 3ghz. the brisbane i mean.
its a snappy little system i cant deny that, but to go from a 6600 @ 3.8 back down to a brissy at 3ghz,, you feel it.
and yes if Abit cant even get the temp readings right on the NF-M2 Nview... how can we expect them to fix bigger issues on other boards.
the massive overclocks the NF-M2 can do far outweighs the off kilter temps, but temps are extremely important, i would think they would make it more of a priority.
No can do, cant get the bugger to boot. I think it doesnt like my kingston value ram, no beeps, just restarts once and then nothing other than spinning fans. If someone can point me in the direction of some memory that definitely works it'd be appreciated  .
Ignore me, I see theres a list at the start of the thread..doh!
What are the max voltages available for Vcore, Vdimm and Vmch? Also whats the difference between the pro and non pro? thanks
Seems my ip35-e is doa as it wont boot with a borrowed stick of g. skill F2-6400PHU2-1GBHZ  . Just my luck
Absolutely none mate, it resets once then sits with the fans spinning. I've reseated the cpu and hsf, cleared cmos a billion times, tried kingston with elpida chips, kingston with d9 and the g.skill above. Any more suggestions? I've not had a decent abit since the nf7-s!
are all the power cables plugged into the board? what about the psu?
hmm.. im out of ideas then, other then a bad cpu? i mean if the ram/cpu/video/psu all work with another board then it could be the board. at the same time have you box tested it? like not mounted in the case just on the static bag it came with and just everything plugged in. sometimes a short will cause what you describing.
Just received mine yesterday and got it running. Haven't gotten to really play with it yet aside from adjusting 'basic' options and upping my RAM's vDIMM.
So I've been reading about the 'Northbridge Strap', and from what I can see, it's the value that 'classifies' what 'quad-pumped' FSB rating you fall under? Depending on your OC you might get bumped to the next 'tier' which may have an adverse effect on performance until you can up the FSB enough to 'match' where it was with the originial strap.
And you can't control that setting with this board?
Sound about right?
@tomati: no squealing here either, friend. Reason I purchased this board was because my Infinity 965 was a piggy and I couldn't stand the sound (louder than my HDDs & VGA fan), I didn't want to pay $300 for the DFI NF 680i, and frankly, I don't like Asus or Gigabyte boards much. I was happy to see that Abit released a P35 board, and even happier when I found this thread about how bada** it is too!
If you return your Infinity grab one of these. It's not much more expensive and is every bit a killer board. :)
Good news, thanks men
can I ask you what PSU do you use as DFI tell me mine squealing issue on the dfi 965 is coming from my seasonic S12 500w, they said that PSU is suffering of an irregular output voltage ??? never get a so good psu ( really silent and perfect stability).
Looks like the two lower-end models are now available on Newegg. I might go for the $150 model if it has the same BIOS and overclockability as the Pro.
DFI is full of sh*t with that statement. I have used a Corsair 620HX and a Silverstone 750W modular unit and both are excellent PSUs and the DFI squealled with both. The only change that had any impact was swapping memory modules but it was still there but much more faint than before. Not sure what that menas but take it for what it is worth.
Sell the board on ebay and get one of the new P35 boards, you won't be disappointed.
very impressive board.. defintaly an alternate choice if people dont want to get the p5kdeluxe.. seems to be doing just as well in numbers. Congrats on the great success :)
i unpacked this board looking at it today at the store. The NB is crazy tilted at an angle off the die. its pretty weird, i wonder how much of a effect it would have. i would imagine prretty poor temps in that condition. Will be replacing stock cooling though for some active.
pickin this puppy up tommrow, better be all its cracked up to be. at this point, as long as the thing boots, sees my SATA drives, and runs i'll be happy.
Anyone happen to have a pic of this w/ a HR Ultra-120?
How to find the lastest BIOS?i saw my friend have 06/06 BIOS
I'm very impressed with this board right now and its pricing is way cheaper than the P5K Deluxe.
Now these P35s are what I call 500FSB guaranteed.
Thanks for the results guys.
4GHz (444 X 9) on water for 24/7 with this , possible?
I posted about this earlier in the thread. You can fix it by taking the heatpipes off the board and by trial and error bending them until they lay flat. It will take you some time.
Since it is tilted, the contact starts in the middle and it gets less and less as you move toward the edge.
@expreview : where you see 06/06 BIOS ?
I've read the whole thread and I didn't find any clear confirmation so here's my question :
How is the IP35-E overclocking features ? How is the SATA ports ?
I'm planning to get this model for my file server to house my E4300 when I buy a Q6600 to replace it on my main PC. I don't need a board with plenty of fluff, only something reliable with enough overclocking options to push the E4300 to the same ballpark as currently with my BX2.
I've got a Tuniq on the IP35 Pro and the Tuniq's fan bracket comes close to the raised edge of the NB heatsink, the edge towards the back panel, but they never touch and there is a small gap where air can flow between. It's more clearance than a Tuniq on a Striker Extreme, for example, which was just about sitting on the excessively-tall heatpipes. Awesome board and a Tuniq works great on it.
overclocks very good and has no sata problems, at least on the intel chipset side....i am going to put an IDE DVD drive on the Jmicron controller to see if it will conflict with my sata DVD drive on the intel sata port..will let you know.
the only thing that i am not overly impressed with is actual performance compared to its brothen AB9 QuadGT...i ran a PCMark 2005 on the QuadGT and a run on the IP35 Pro...the QuadGT beat out the IP35 Pro by 1000+ points...all the hardware is the same...only difference is the motherboard.
sorry...i did not catch your model deviation...my board is the Pro model
thg has a p35 comparison review, where the abit board is tested, but imho it's not helpfull at all.

Has anybody noticed that the dual Gb LAN RTL8110SC/RTL8110SC is on the PCI bus? The following NTttcp ethernet throughput test shows that RTL8110SC is 35% to 40% slower than a PCI Express Gb LAN such as Marvell 88E8056 or Realtek RTL8111B:
http://prohardver.hu/html/lap/965_sh...ults/lansp.png
with higher CPU usage:
http://prohardver.hu/html/lap/965_sh...lts/lancpu.png
Source: PROHARDVER! - Alaplapok Core 2 Duo ala - 2. resz - Nyomtatobarat verzio (January 2, 2007). Typos in these charts:
- "Asus P5B Dlx (Marvell 88E8801)" should be "Asus P5B Dlx (Marvell 88E8001)". 88E8001 is a PCI Gb LAN.
- "ECS PX1 (RTL 8139)" should be "ECS PX1 (RTL8110S)". RTL8110S is a PCI Gb LAN, a variant of RTL8110SC.
Another NTttcp test shows a similar result: ComputerBase - Test: Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi Edition (May 21, 2007)
Another test in The Tech Report - Intel's P35 Express chipset (May 21, 2007) also shows that the PCI Gb LAN 88E8001 is much slower than other PCI Express Gb LANs, though it does not include RTL8110SC.
Abit uses this crappy PCI Gb LAN solution in AB9 QuadGT too. There are only 6 PCI Express lanes in the southbridge. In these motherboards, the lanes are assigned as follows:
- 4: PCI Express x16 slot at x4
- 1: PCI Express x1 slot
- 1: IDE controller
while in ASUS P5B/P5K series motherboards with two PCI Express x16 slots,
- 4: shared by the PCI Express x16 slot at x4 and the PCI Express x1 slot (x4 is automatically slowed down to x2 when x1 is used)
- 1: IDE controller
- 1: PCI Express Gb LAN
I am getting this board soon, can someone post the bios setting for the board?
Thanks
Stock volts across the board, this is the pro board with stock E4320 alu heatsink with stock TIM that comes in the retail box.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=209704
400x8
I plan on a beefy heatsink but this is what the stock can do and what to expect out of the box.
I need to tighten up the memory, these are the new PDP 4GB Kit modules.
Well got mine up and running. Killed the first setup of vista that I transfered from my 965 setup playing with the ram speeds, borked it up good.
Anyways got it to 540fsb with my 6600. 6multi or voltages would not change this which is the same wall I got on my dfi 965-s. I think its the cpu wall but I am not sure. Probably is, anyways uses less volts for the oc's compared to 965 boards.
The pi time is bad jsut there for reference i guess.
One thing is the pwm cooler was barely touching half of the pwm's but covered the nb good. Took it off anyways and cut up a aluminum hdd cooler and put that on the pwm's they stay pretty cool havnt scene them above 50c I think.
