webwilli, u got PM :D
So the P5K Deluxe DDR2 or the DFI Infinity P965-s, which one do you think would work better for C2D and DDR2?
So far the only listing of any Asus P35 motherboard that I can find is at ClubIT for the Asus P5K Deluxe for $269.99 but it's currently 'Sold Out'.
http://www.clubit.com/product_detail...emno=CA4802830
I'll have the P5K tomorrow.
Ordered it from Komplett (they operate in most western European countries).

arrggg....... I've been planning to move to 680i, but now something new is out so IDK.... and when this is released like always it will be a lot , not to mention if you go with DDR3.........
I need connections....... lol
this board looks really sweet but i brought my abit back to life so i will keep it. but what is the highest mem clock ya got form this new suckaa?
Everest Cache & Memory Benchmark 570FSB 1:1 4-4-4-9
SuperPI 32M 570FSB 1:1 4-4-4-9
This Rhino SavageN.S.P PC2-8000F4M (D9GKX) kit did DDR1220 4-4-4-9-6-25 (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tWR-tRFC) with just 2.4V. No problems running SuperPI 32M thru ;)
DDR1000 4-4-4-9 is also HCI Memtest stable at 2.05V (bios setting, 2.08V actual) :D
The board officially launches tomorrow! So expect a pile of benchies and etailers stocking this thing in the next few days.
http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/02/i...ing-in-a-week/
Intel's official NDA is still May 21st and the board's were originally to go on sale on June 4th. Obviously, some distributors have violated that rule, but after reading Intel's latest communication to the manufacturer's and supply chain partners I would say any boards not already past the distributors will be held now. ;)
makes a mental note to harass the :banana::banana::banana: out of distie for another mobo hahahah before they get smacked on the hands haha
Hi all

Gonna get my P5K DLX tomorrow, hope it goes with Cellshocks like The Stilts one.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...%20Deluxe/
Bios: 0202
My P5K Deluxe is underway.
Can some one upload or send the other bios files ?
0303 ect.
Seems to be a new BIOS out (0405) for the P5K over at the ASUS FTP site... Does this apply for the P5K and/or the P5K Deluxe?
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5K
I'll know soon if it applies to the P5K Deluxe :)
Howīs the Crossfire performance with the P5K DLX? Looking for crossfire motherboard and donīt know what would be better, 975 or P35. Maybe someone could test it. Does it suck like it did with 965 or not.:stick:
Changelog Bios 0405 P5K:
1. Increase
BOOT_BLOCK_COMPATIABLE_VERSIONn to 3
2. Revise [RAS# Activate to Precharge] option items.
3. Generate a full reset if FSB of dual-core CPU is overclocked more than 500MHz.
4. Added [Relax level] and it will display while [Transaction Booster] is Disabled.
5. Updated some of DIMM checksum value and defautl setting to 2.0v.
What does 3. exactly mean???
Hm I tried updating to 0405 with EZ Flash 2 but I got this error message:
"The file size does not match existing BIOS size!"
So I'm guessing it's not for the P5K Deluxe.
Edit: Aha! Deluxe had its own folder:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...%20Deluxe/
0202 seems to be the latest for it.
no
i have 0304
http://rapidshare.de/files/37748533/...eluxe-0304.rar
www.alternate.de , they have the Asus boards and also some Gigabyte models, i also saw a model from MSI.
just to be certain you should go through Asus's support page
i will be putting 0302 bios on my P5K listed under support
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...5K/P5K0302.rar (this is the link for vanilla one (ONLY VANILLA BOARD ACTUALLY HAS FILES ON THE SUPPORT SITE AT THE MOMENT SO DON'T GOT PUTTING THIS ONE ON YOUR Deluxe versions)

Still no quad results with the p35 chipset yet??? Been searching and everyone still playin with the core2's
Sorry, what different between chip set P35 and 975x? or only DDR2 # DDR3?
Thanks
I've just flashed from 0123 to 0304 on my P5K Deluxe, now CPUZ recognizes correctly the RAM speed (before it said 1066 cas 32 :D when it was 960 cas 4). And now it boots with no problem with PC8000 memory. I had to plug PC6400 memory with 0123 bios in order to boot.
CPU damper works pretty good, from 1.25V full by disabling it to 1.30V full enabling it :) (still a bit unfased with bios settings which are 1.35V but Vdroop is gone, just 0.01V).
here is my QX6700 on a P5K DLX

on stock mobo voltages
Impressive albertwesker, I'm still at 450Mhz (and going up).
Well, my QX is priming at 480Mhz stock mobo volts also :) 500 coming soon...

I'm using 0405 on my P5K Deluxe.Quote:
latest bios for
P5K Deluxe = 0304
P5K3 Deluxe = 0405
uhm... I thought the number of the bios was simply the Date of the bios, but you are right, bios version is 0304 while bios date is 05/04  (here we read 04/05/2007).Quote:
you sure.. screenie shows 0304 bios ?
PD: It can't do 500Mhz FSB, Max it's 486Mhz.. :( And I still can boot with my Gskill PC8000 after a Clear CMOS, I thought 0304 bios solved it but it didn't.
Also received my mobo.
There are some small differences:

Testing tomorrow, with: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 :)
nFo you received 2 different P5K Deluxes ?
here's mine

I change my mind from 680i to P35, I still love intel
wow the quad results look good so far
have someone good bios settings for the P5K Deluxe?
I don't know, what I set at DRam Timings
SuperPi 32M 480FSB 4:5 divider 4-4-4-9
The board can handle some super tight settings.
tRRD 1, tWR 2, tRFC 20, tWTR 6 etc. are no problem at 570FSB 1:1 :D
What a good resul 4319.9MHz
I see more differences btw.....:confused2
But it doesn't really matter.
Testing the board asap.
Here some bios files for Asus P5K Deluxe:
0123 / 0202 / 0303 / 0304
Since I only see one IDE connector and it is red, can I assume support for IDE optical drives has been dropped and only SATA optical drives are supported?
Lol that's a weird assumption
cant wait to get mine. My QX6700 has been waiting for this :)
No problem.
Looks like I will flash the bios with 304 before I do anything else :)
I've just got the board today but there is no an optional fan that to use with water cooling. Can anyone comfirm this to me please as this board doesn't come with the optinal fan? Thanks guy
P5K Deluxe - optional fan not included

P5K3 Deluxe - optional fan included

they usually sound like leaf blowers anyway, better off with a low rpm yate loon or similar over the area.
I like this board after little boot problems. I need much less vCore to get same MHz I'd with GuadGT.
ASUS P5K DLX @ 1.385V ~ 3320MHz
ABIT GuadGT @ 1.42-1.435V ~3290-3320MHz
ASUS P5K DLX @ 1.425V ~ 3500MHz (over 5 hours SP2004 Orthos)
ABIT GuadGT @ 1.465V ~ 3500MHz
BIOS 311:
CPU @ 1.425V
NB @ 1.55V
SB @ 1.2V
MEM @ 2.1V
Say, how are the temps of the chipset on the Asus P5K3 (DLX) boards?
I heard rumours that they were way higher then compared to any Gigabyte P35 board.
Can anyone tell me if this is true or not?
Anyone?
That may or may not be true but my P-35 requires no additional voltage to reach 475 Mhz and higher. I haven't tested for max FSB but have booted at 500 with no extra volts.
I found an interesting article regarding the P35 chipset boards from Asus.
They are compared to a Gigabyte board here:
http://images.tweaktown.com/imageban...gaasusttst.pdf
The results are almost shocking.
Well dont get me wrong mate.
Im not saying Asus sucks because i am a fan of their boards too.
I was just looking from a quality and overclocking point of view.
And i asked myself the question why their temps would be higher then the Gigabyte boards with the same chipset.
dude, the deluxe might be abit hot, but never as hot showed in that .pdf, like dino said it is a pure marketing :banana::banana::banana: that Gigabyte even use @ their website........( but they didnt named the board as asus but as competitor.....), and besides before it will die/worn out from overheating, u will probbly upgrade to another mobo already/cpu.... And if u still unsure, grab the P5K Premium, that is a improved version of the Deluxe, with some cooling improvements, better components around socket area, and no more mosfets on the back, and they run cooler, I think the price difference is not that big , at least in the Netherlands just 20 euro.. I know which 1 I would pick.....
The last two Asus boards I had, Blitz and Premium clocked great.
And were both faulty. Now I'm reluctant to get another, what's left? The Abit has hot PWM and droop, no DFI yet so that leaves the DQ6.
And whats up with the P5K3 Premium then?
Cheapest price it comes at in The Netherlands is 839 euros,
Bugs, the Blitz formula had standby starting issues, needed to resort to cold boots to start it. And the P5K Premium had Sata port errors. I'm kinda surprised to get two duff boards in a row from Asus, used them for years. My current board is P5W which is a great board, but sucks with the quad.
i see unlucky man
Can someone help me put this 2 HD3850 in Crossfire on my P5K Deluxe ??
