Last year we reviewed the Stacker from Cooler Master and we liked what we saw, but we did wonder just what they could come up with next. Well it seems that colour is the order of the show here at CeBIT 2007 as Cooler Master introduces a number of different colour finishes.
First up is the customised paint job from a US supplier, believe it or not after the Stacker leaves the factory in China it heads off to the US for a bit of a paint job then gets imported into the UK, that is if they think there’s a market for it. At $900USD it has to be said that you would have to be a seriously avid fan to lay out that sort of money.
http://img.hexus.net/v2/internationa...tacker.2.s.jpg
Next up are the coloured mesh variants that Cooler Master are currently considering. We only managed to grab photos of two of the potentials, a lime green and ruby red finish were on show in the morning, but we also saw an orange version later in the day. It’s a simple case of painted mesh being fitted to the chassis in place of the usual black.
http://img.hexus.net/v2/internationa...tacker.3.s.jpg
http://img.hexus.net/v2/internationa...tacker.4.s.jpg
We did spot one more new potential addition to the Stacker range, a window for those to like to see their systems in action. Again Cooler Master couldn’t commit to this making the production lines, but it will depend on the feedback they receive during the CeBIT show we believe.
http://img.hexus.net/v2/internationa...tacker.5.s.jpg
Finishing up this short Stacker round up we actually can confirm that this is a product that will make it to market. The Stacker 832 is on its way and ready for production. Although initial impressions are that the front door is all that has changed we will get one into the labs to give it the proper HEXUS going over as soon as possible.
Am i crazy, or does that Asus sound card have a fan?
That Ruby red stacker looks awesome seems expensive though for only painting the grill a diff' colour
yeah it is, took me forever to find this pic:

anyone spotted a mindblowing innovative product yet? i looked at the pics and ....dont see anything that would make me go crazy.

Meizu has recently made some headlines to come out with design that look pretty much like an Apple iPhone but comes with very decent features too. Meizu didn't managed to showcase Mini One at CeBIT but nonetheless their sleek looking Music Card caught our eyes. The 2GB edition will come later this month and the retail price is around US$65.

Here are some good and some bad news about the ultimate Optimus keyboard project, unveiled directly from Artemy Lebedev and Dimitry Tosy right after the CeBIT in Hannover started. I'll begin with the bad news. First the expected $1,200 price is now $1,490(cough). Second, the complete Optimus keyboard isn't being shown at CeBIT, just a few screenshots. Now the good news. The keyboard is now called Optimus Maximus and there will be OLED keys after all with an expected life span of only 5 years. Each 32 x 32 resolution OLED will remain stationary. Pre-orders of the unseen keyboard start in April with delivery in November/December 2007.

w0mbat in our forums has something nice for us again and this time round he brought us RV630 and RV610 cards. There are some misconceptions that the top card is a R600XT card, which is in fact a RV630XT card. It has 128-bit memory interface and supports GDDR4 in 256/512MB configurations. It requires an additional 6-pin power.
RV630 on the other hand has 128-bit memory interface as well and supports 256MB GDDR2 memories. No additional power is required.
As our sources revealed that RV630XT will score over 12K in 3DMark05 which is in fact faster than a X1900 XTX card. As for RV610, you can check out our previous article for its details and performance.

CeBIT :AMD Might Opt 65nm For R600
wombat reported from our forums that ATi might opted for 65nm process technology for R600.
According to the source article with some translation over at Rage3D mentioned that senior officials from AMD informing their partners that AMD-ATi Tech Day for R600 will be held 16 days from now. R600 will be formally announced in six weeks after that date in early May. According to some rumors, AMD hopes to employ 65nm process for making R600 chips. The reason is that yield rate for R600 at 80nm process is not high and facing leakage problems.

CeBIT: AMD speaks about R600
Received by AMD, we believed there until the end. When we penetrated in a flanked room of a poster “NDA” we were persuaded that it would be there. And well not. Many times announced R600 and very as many time deferred was not there, finally almost, as explained Vijay Sharma, Product to us Manager of R600 at AMD.
Hello Vijay. We thought of seeing R600, is it there?
Hello. Yes R600 is well here in CeBIT. It is presented in NDA (agreement of nondisclosure) at some of our partners. It is not visible for general public, nor for the press, but our trade partners have it already and can present it at their customers.
And for us will people of the press, when be you he visible?
He will be presented at the press at the end of April/during May at the time of an official presentation under NDA. The date and the exact place of this event are not defined yet, but that will not be in Amsterdam (note: AMD cancelled there is a few days the official presentation of R600 which was to be held in Amsterdam at the beginning of week).
And for the public?
The public will see with blow on of R600 everywhere in Computex which will take place in June since it will be launched during May.
One spoke about a problem of PCB with memory GDDR4. You confirm?
Well on that not. There is no concern, these rumours are nonfounded. R600 functions very well.
This don't CeBIT was the occasion to present it, why do it not?
We wish to develop a complete range around R600. Today, the range and all that goes around are not finalized. We will launch R600 at the same time as all the range of charts which use it.
Will AMD announced a revision with the fall of its sales for the current year, R600 be the product which will save AMD?
We hope for it and let us be persuaded of it. The processor for Barcelona waiter will be well launched this summer. The version general public Agena will be launched second half of 2007. All these innovations will show the capacities of AMD to be dissociated in this market. There is not only R600.
Compared to the solution of NVIDIA, which will give the R600 in terms of performances?
You will be surprised…
And the price?
I know it, but of course, I can nothing say to you.
Thank you Vijay
AMD received us and let us thank we them. We would have however liked to know some a little more. R600 is not there. There exists can be certainly, but we saw it, nobody besides, and the answers brought to our questions seem to be given in order to save time.
http://translate.google.com/translat...language_tools
So does this mean that we wont be seeing at all? Cause im not sure if the translation came through right but it sounds to me like we wont see the r600 at all till like may... prehaps i read to fast or wrong but if so that really really sucks. Sounds to me like dammit isnt sure of who well it will perform at all.
it means that in CEBIT the R600 It is not visible for general public or for the press, only for "VIP´s"

^being asain doesn't mean you can't be VIP, lots of asains are in the computer industry.. heck most of the manufacturing is in asia.
Yes, I think being an asian is a plus.
Wow thanks for the link!
That sounds a lot like the CSMA-3D that the X-fi uses..
I can only hope it'll have better sound quality while creating a surround 3D environment.. I can think of about 4 games off the top of my head that X-fi crackles like crazy in. I want to hear more about this sound card I'm really interested in dumping creative..
I just searched and looked this up..
basically you'd have to record all the sounds for binaural in the first place.. seeing as most in games sounds are digitally created that may not be the most cost effective way of doing it..
Maybe I read that wrong.
But I'd honestly rather have a card that can play the audio in stereo if it happens to be binaural or upmix it to 5.1 if it's not.. :woot:
either way if putting the card on the PCIe 1X removes all the line noise and allows me to play my games with 5.1 surround in my headphones without the snap crackle pop rice crispies assaulting my ears I'll be ready with cash in hand at my local retailer on release date.

OCZ to reach PC11200, 1400 MHz soon
Bit-tech has info about perhaps the fastest memory modules to date - OCZ's PC11200 modules, running at 1400MHz, rated at 5-6-6 timings with an operating voltage of 2.35V. Even though the timings are loose, the high frequency should make up for the loss in performance.
Bit-tech also spotted new Reaper HPC modules, which are now up to PC9600 or 1200MHz speeds.

and more about the Asus Soundcard
Quote:
Asus has a sound card in the works
PCI Express has been around for a long time, yet very few add in cards have adapted to this interface - many still use plain old PCI, which has caused many motherboard manufacturers to trade off PCIE slots for PCI slots.
Asus is about to change that, being among the few producing a PCI Express sound card. The ultra high fidelity sound card will have 118dB SNR playback and 115dB SNR recording capabilities. Instead of EAX, the card will support Dolby and DTS technologies. Asus claims that this will be useful, as games for consoles natively support these standards. When being ported to the PC platform, no additional coding will be necessary.
The card incorporates many of the features we have seen before on soundcards from other companies, especially those based around the CMedia Oxygen HD audio processor. The features include Dolby Headphone, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Virtual Speaker, Dolby Digtal Live, DTS NEO:PC, DTS:Connect and DTS:Interactive.
However, rather than going down the third party audio chip route, Asus decided to develop its own entirely customised audio processing chip in its own labs and have spec’d out the soundcard with ultra high end OpAMPs, DACs and ADCs. The company even included an EMI shield covering because the internals of a PC case are renowned for being an hive for RFI.
The cards should be available for a similar price as Creative's X-Fi Extreme Gamer cards.

HIS makes six display setup
http://www.fudzilla.com/images/stori...s_monitors.jpgQuote:
We saw a cool setup, six displays running on Vista, on a rather standard system. HIS demonstrated its PCIe 1X cards and we learned that if you plug two PCIe 1X cards and a single PCIe16X one you can end up with six display support.
The HIS PCIe 1X card is based on X1550 chip and it comes with 256 MHz memory. The card is clocked 550 MHz core and 800 MHz memory and one link dual DVI ready.
If you need more than two displays this might be the cheap way to go and you are only limited by a quantity of PCIe slots.

It would be useful for vidcards though, as the vrm area can get quite hot, and
could use some cooling without excessive loss of flow.
