Given all the heat we will be generating, I don't think it will be a cold winter hahahaha.Quote:

As for heat, dude, milan usually has snow in january, this year we had 20c and trees in full-force flowery spring mode.. freaky O.o

Yeah, when I am done this bunch of reviews I am going to rig a shroud over my PA 120.3 to pull in outside air (currently 2c!) over it when I bench. It'll be interesting to see the differences in temps with really cold air blowing thru the rad. Gotta be careful to keep my water temps above the dew point or I'll have to deal with condensation.Quote:

Yep, CPU only loop.Quote:

yea my sister is lovin itQuote:

Don't you know its normal for a GIMONGUS piece of Canada to break away every year?
Its normal for 2-4" of snow in the desert?
this is just a freaky year for weather, global warming is probably not the cause of it, global warming will take at least a few more decades before its effects, if any, will be seen.
Back on topic, keep up the great work, hope to hear the results soon!
Would you be interested in adding an MCW6002 to that review, just to see how they stack up to it? I've got one with both s939 and s775 mounting plates. I'm not sure how flat it is anymore though, as it seems hard mounts on a bare core might have done something to it.Quote:

I have a terrible way with words, what I meant to say was that we haven't had a long enough of record of temps to accurately tell if global warming is a new occurrence or if the average temperature of the earth fluctuates as much as it has on a regular basis (on a millennial scale).

Also take into account the number of sources of pollution, even with saftey precautions and measures, look at the lenght of time Man was polluting the envroment, even LONG before it was a world wide concern.
The funny thing is, Ben Franklin is recorded as having made comments and writing about how man was affecting mother nature in the 17 hundreds. LONG before the Industrial revolution.

I have a set of beasty Corsair Dominator PC10K's coming. Reggie tells me my cascade is next on the bench. My PC P&C Turbo 1K is getting swapped for a single rail model and should be back in by Friday of this week coming. I have the cold air induction hooked up which ducts outside air and sends it across the rad. My water temps are averaging 5-7c below ambient. I will have volt mod my 8800GTX's this week by the time the psu comes back.
In other words. . .I am nearly ready to start torturing some G80 water blocks!!
I will begin gathering data with my new and improved rig as soon as the psu shows up.
Muhahahahah, though Philly_boy, if I seen black smoke to the north/northwest I will know what the source is :-P
Sooooo, how close are you to completing this review Philly_Boy?
Looking forward to reading it!
Hey Phill,
Flipping heck you'r a busy man, hope it's all working okay for you dude. I'll be states side late this summer hopefully and will try and meet up for a beer if ya fancy it!
Show ya how to drink UK style
So is this review done ?
did you lap the C2D this time?
Also why not just remove the IHS... maybe MCW60 will crush the core?
P.S. Subscribed.... if you would be kind enough to explain how you got the 226w peltiers mounted w/ neoprene etc + G80 adapter kit onto the 8800gtx I would really appreciate it. Im sitting here fiddling my thumbs debating whether to get the MCW60T at a cool sale price of $99.99 or to build my own MCW60 + Peltier like how you are doing.... I think the MCW60T comes with a 188watt peltier which is no good for overclocking a 8800gtx if I am correct, or at least not good for heavy overclocking the card... but still that would bring someone to question how you can stick a 226watt peltier under the MCW60 if swiftech themsleves made the TEC version of the MCW60 with only a 188watt Peltier... I think its because they made it before the time of the 8800gtx...
MCW60 crushing the core on a C2D? Or do you mean on the 8800... And even then wouldn't it be more likely to be crushed if the IHS is removed?

Yeah, I've been havin some fun lately with LN2 and dry ice. I still maintain up to three seperate water loops for 24/7 crunching/gaming on the cpu -- Cyclone 120 res> 2x DDC+ w/ petra's top (in series)>PA120.3 (6x YL D12SL blue led in push/pull)>Apogee GTX and the GPU's -- EK Res150>DDC+ w/ petra's top>GTX240 (2x Panaflo G's in push)>2x MCW60GT as well as the NB/SB -- EK Res 150>DD D5>GTX 240 (2x Panaflo G's in push)>EK Wave Chipset Rev 1.1 (SB)>DD Maze 4 Chipset 680i (NB).
I will prolly keep everything out of the case until the 680i board gets replaced. Then I'll do a MM Horizon build sometime this winter featuring the 680i's SLI replacement board, a QX6800, Corsair Dominator PC10K ram, 2x 8800 Ultra's (or G90's if they're out), RAID 0 150gb Raptor's etc, etc... with seperate water loops on the GPU's and NB/SB and a built into the case single stage phase unit for the cpu with the usual "Wraith" bling.
Yes, I lapped my darling E6300. Sorry, but I don't do naked CPU's....I'm not into cpu pr0n! :D
Please PM me and I'll let you know what I did for insulation to do pelts on the 8800GTX's. I might even have two set-ups available for sale...bigger pelts with more compatable Swifty blocks (a version of the Apogee 1U server blocks with G80 kits) but you'll still have to do the insulating yourself. The 226 watt pelt has it's own set of pro's and cons...but I digress.
updates
Like someone already said "Holy moly thread revival batman!" I really doubt there will be any updates to this m8.
lol
