Just to see if this bad sample would scale with voltage I started tuning up the voltage by 20mV for each step. I ended up with 2.104V and 5180MHz @ -110C. From 4850MHz with 1.8V.
These babys scale very good with voltage :)
2.1v, that has to be a first
I dont think it is good for a 65nm chip, but I didnt care much forthe chip :D Woudnt be posible without the rev3 mousepot. It is second to none.Quote:

It really rocks at around 135-140.. I have to have a little range, due to the lack of mass in my mousepot rev 1... I really varies in temps.. and I have to be super careful with the administration of the LN2..
Getting a new one from Vince shortly... That should take care of some of the problems..
The P5W64 board might very well be the nicest OC board I have ever had my hands on..
A good x6800 you should be able to do 01 @ 5,3-5,4GHz.. more if you are lucky..
I also saw the cold bug the other day... but like yours.. mine was also gone with raising the voltages..
BTW... how many 8800gtx's do you really have?
I will hold on to this cpu :) 5353MHz :D I can't fnd words for how good the rev3 mousepot is!
The vreg died on the p5w64 when I was playing @ 5434MHz in the 3dmark 06 cpu-test :( 5400MHz was rock solid though at the same voltage as used for the other tests.

Yeah it is a super sweet chip :) I've tested elmors b2 w27 x6800 for the 1950 crossfire runs. And it is even better then this one. So a sample like that one under the rev3 mousepot and som pretty high voltage treatment I think we could see really crazy high clocks.Quote:

Approximately how much liters of nitrogen you spend Kinc ?
increadible...
i can see G81 being a massively overclocked G80 with 1GB GDDR4 and TEC/air cooling. or just a shrink to 80nm for less heat...
maybe 700 or 750 mhz? that should pull the pants off R600...

Kinc i need help :)
Tested one of my 8800gtx on cascade today and som strange thing is happend.
847/1200 is 3d stable @ 1,55/2,06v only -50c (this give 901fps nature)
850 on core is no go even with -80c and 1,75v....... cant start any 3d at 850 at all. it just freeze the hole computer :(
Any tips?
had a similar problem, but just with single phase.
My solution was to lower the voltage. Seemed as if there was overvoltage protection, plus a lot of droop as well (xfx 8800 gtx)
Also my mem voltage, if set too high will cause a similar problem. It's like the card is telling the software that it's a no go.
Strangely, after things began to work and I upped the voltage, I ended up back at the same voltages as when the card wouldn't work.
I've seen it happen in the middle of a bench as well. frame rate fell off drastically once the card went into safe mode or something.(right near 1.75v)
these cards are in need of a v-droop mod. I set 1.67v to get 1.55 minimum. the gpu voltage is all over the place....so far keeping gpu at or above 1.5v and mem at 2.16v, I got 810/1220 and a single card score of 15,565 (w/ E6600 @ 4.4) I am in dire need of a better cpu and/or cascade on the socket.
BTW Kinc...nice job
What bios does your card have? It is printed on a sticker attached to the pcb.Quote:

your game 1 is lower than mine but game 2 3 4 are faster.
eeee, i hope we can meet sometime (all the crazy ocer) XD
GT1 = raw cpu power + luck to have a good run.
Your GT 2-4 are slower because of the lower gpu clocks + lower bus speeds (although you did a great job coming so close to his score)
Great single card results. Car low can vary up to 40 fps (if not more on these speeds) at the exact same clocks.
Started testing SLI today. CPU is only on air since I'm out of LN2. On the way to Dreamhack tomorrow I will pickup 60 liters were I will be joining crotale for a few days of extreme fun! :D

Kinc can you show the shader block freq.
Please...... :slobber:
congrats kinc really impresive, hope you can do a 4fecta at DH that gpu power is just insane
 Unbelievable, that 84k is just beyond insane, incredible :slobber:
The orb is about to get trashed... ;)
it is known that with 8800GTX CPU on in % equals 3DMark gain in %, so , theoretically, to break 100k in 03 you need only 4.75GHz :D
No the cpu is only a bottleneck for gt1 where I could gain about 2000 points. In the others tests we will only see a few fps higher results becuase there are few points where the cpu is a bottleneck in gt2-4, mybe 1000 points. 90k is a realistic goal :)Quote:

So from now on 01 is 100% about cpu speed. I think it would be more fun to do it with a single 8800GTX clocked very high. Remeber -77C is the coldest I've run single and that coul bring 1GHz. So more should be posible with ln2.
About hte shader clock. From my experience it sacles with the core clock, since the perf jumps in big leaps going only 1MHz higher at some points.
My point about the shader, is that sooner or later you may reach the limits of the gpu or shader clock speed.
We need to know where those speeds are.
Yes ocing the gpu results in an oc of the shaders as well.
So, what if the shaders caused a crash while the gpu still had more in it, or visa versa?
Once it is determined that the gpu is maxed out, using normal ocing programs, then will be the time to check and possibly adjust shader clock to see if it is what caused the crash or not
I have been playing with this on one of my gtx's. I upped the shader from 1350 to 1450. When I used riva to oc, the shader scaled as well, but starting at 1450, so it was being over overclocked.
does this make sense?
Wil it have an effect? we'll find out soon enough , I think.
I see you point but upping the the steraming processors wont do much for perf and will most likely impact the oc on core part of the gpu. After all it is the ROP power and texture to pixels we need to make these card scale better with high core. I would like to see a test with both lower ang higher ref sp clock. As you say it couild make a deifference to the oc experience with these cards.Quote:

haven't tried lowering the shader, but when you get to the end of the line, you may want to raise or lower and adjust gpu accordingly...if you think it's worth a shot...:slapass:
awsome work kinc. These cards love 03 :)
I can say from my experiences that the shader clock seems to limit the max core clocks on the cards. For example, If I set the shader clock lower than say 1350 at default, the cards cores will scale alot higher. I think some legwork there to find the perfect ratios will pay off bigtime.
Incredible work Kinc...I can't wait to see 100k fall in '01...90k+ single card is just insane!!!
Keep up the good work, I'm rootin' for ya.
Nice result in 3d mark03 Kinc
I wish good luck in overclocks Kentsfield and I think we still shall be surprised
agreed..there's something for everyone thereQuote:

Actually three cards :D Only 1 left alive. We hade alot of fun crotale and I but no fun results. We struggled alot with the striker extreme but it didnt like subzero. Then we struggled with getting the cpu up to speed on the evga. When we finally did the cards started dying. I will try and get the rigg back togheter as soon as I can.Quote:
