There is no difference between 945 955 and 965 all of them have PCI-E 16x + 4x and on all it is possible to run SLi :DQuote:

Asus p5w-dh and 2x7600gt's :D
Cheers
Excited to receive my E6600 and P5W DH tomorrow, off work on Wed / Thurs so I had CPU RAM MB overnighted @ 75$ shipping :-( Was debating for 3 days straight on biting and getting X6800 with P5N32-SLI to get true SLI support however found too many 3.4-3.7ghz X6800 owners and I just can't justify that much money when E6600 is performing almost the same speed.
Replacing my X2 4400+ @ 2.68 was not going to upgrade but 2 friends using Core 2 Duo @ 3ghz and they don't have to set affinity and game plays flawless without patches, CPU drivers etc etc that AMD needed and still had problems.
Anyone find any issues running this 85.96 driver? Anyone know if someone will hack a newer 91.31 series driver for use and if Nvidia and Intel are somehow partnered why disable the SLI support if the hardware works fine?
Running 2x7900GTX boards can someone please send me the drivers PM me if you have time.
Thank you
Pentium777: nvidia and intel have nothing to do with eachother...
Its the fact that to run SLI and to run Crossfire it is practically the same hardware setup...
The part that says yes you can do SLI or no you cant to SLI is completly software related,
So when someone edits the software drivers so it skips that check then you can use SLi on a normally software disabled crossfire board (hope that made sense!)
Someone please send me the drivers, and i can host them on my home server!!! (25kb upload but better than nothin!)
Makes perfect sense, I did not know the PCIE slots and Crossfire / SLI was basically the same hardware chipset figured that the board's chipset needed to have some type of hardware support.Quote:

Hope someone can give that modded driver by tomorrow or I'll be running on single 7900 GTX @ 2560x1600 :-(

Yeah, it's impossible to find these drivers by googling for them....trust me, I've looked for several hours. If anyone has these drivers, please pm me. I'm trying to run two EVGA 7900 GT KOs on an Intel d975xbx motherboard and it's a nightmare knowing that one of them is just sitting there doing nothing. Thanks in advance.

hate to be a bother but if someone would please send me the drivers i would be greatly thankful.

My question is guys, to run SLI on a Bad Axe mobo do you NEED the SLI BRIDGE? And where do you buy these separately?
Froogle SLi bridge and look for a flexible universal one. :)
The flexible SLI bridge that NickS is talking about is the Super Micro AOC-SLIB. The reason that a flexible one is so great is because different motherboards might space their pci-e slots differently.
edit: To answer peteypete271's question about NEEDING the SLI bridge, the answer is "yes and no". So, "yes" if you're looking for the best performance and "no" since it's not mandatory.
could someone send me the drivers for dual 7900gtx cards on an asus 975 chipset board. Please Please Please

Interesting problem noobzed. I ran into a similar problem last night.
Im running a E6400 on a D975XBX with the 85.96 drivers. I do have an sli bridge and I had been running my cpu o/c to 2.66. I have a pair of BFG 7900GT's and while SLI enabled very easily - My system locked up on the 1st cpu test of 3dmark 05 and after that I could not get any other benchmark to run except briefly 3dmark 01 - but the performance was terrible - freeze frames during the initial 3d test and an eventual lock up.
I am running 2gb of XMS DDR2, a single raptor HDD and a single optical drive. All of this is powered by an Ultra 550w SLI ready psu.
I took the o/c off the cpu and return everything to default, but it didnt seem to improve anything.
Now the question I have is this...
I was running a single 7900GT o/c'd to 550/775. When I installed the 2nd card, windows prompted me for a driver install - and I think it installed the 85.96 drivers again as they show in the program manager for both cards and sli is still an option. However when I went into the nvidia desktop manager to look at my o/c options - they were gone. I reinstalled coolbits and noted that everything now shows stock speed - but it only gives options for one card. How can I be sure both cards are at stock speed?
Seems I read here that if you have cards at different speeds this type of lock-up can happen.
My plan is to remove the sli bridge and turn off sli. Then run my benchmarks. If I understand things correctly - this should then run off of just one of the cards. Is this correct?
If all is well then I intend to attemp an sli run with both cards in sli without the bridge and see what happens.
Anyone have any other thoughts? Anyone know how to get coolbits to o/c both cards?
Just curious.
Z
Interesting note...
Based on what you said big sam I went looking at the PSU... Mine is SLI rated, but an article I read indicates that a minimum of 35A needs to be provided on the +12v rails. Mine has 35, but only 35.
You think that with o/c CPU and GPU's more might be better? Could this be why my system is failing in 3d applications?
Z
ps... the same article indicated my system had enough wattate - 471 was the peak wattage required and I have 550 - but the amperage might be a factor as I only have min specs...
Yes, it can cause falling of system.Quote:

You try multimeter for the control voltages and try to remove the case from PSU and check up temperature of radiators. Overheating is possible.
Before I tear the whole thing apart I think I will mess with some of the other things that I have to do.
I agree on the over heating thing... in the XBX those pci slots are very close together.
Anyone with SLI running on the XBX want to swap some system specs? Im curious about the cooling part...
Thank you all!

i did some testing
i unplug one hdd one fan one ram one dvd
fresh install of xp, 84.66 driver

my psu antec phantom 500 is rated for 17 + 18watts on 12v line
max load is 390w
all bios option are set to default, no oc, all default, same for gfx cards
i do not know how to solve my issue ...
overheating not an issue i think, all parts i touched are cool
gpu1 43 degrees
gpu2 47 degress
system and cpu are around 33 degrees
hdd is 35 degrees

this psu :
http://www.matbe.com/articles/lire/2...rmax/page2.php
provide 40a on the 12v line
is it much better ?
noobzed
More power is obviously better. I saw that 18x4 psu too and it looked good, but when I checked Nvidia's site, the 17a + 18a should be ok for GT cards. If you are doing 2x GTX cards the list of approved PSU's is smaller.
Im doing 2x GT cards and my PSU is listed on their site as having ample power to drive my cards so I am inclined to believe that its not a power problem I am having.
I did find it interesting that w/o the bridge your 3dmark finished. Are you certain it was running in SLI mode? 34k seems kinda low for your system with 2 GTX cards... or GT for that matter. My system will do 38k with one GT card clocked at 550/775 and an E6400 @ 2.66. Im thinking that sli for my system should be 45-55k...
Hey, I want to thank Big_Sam(for introducing the SLI driver) and BarboneNet(for rehosting the SLI driver). I'm now able to run Oblivion at the highest quality without the graphics stuttering all over the place. :D
Hopefully, nVidia will release the official ones soon, but this one is better than what I expected and will definitely do the trick until that time.
System specs:
Intel d975xbx
P4@3ghz(soon to be replaced by the e6600)
2xEVGA 7900 GT KOs in SLI
2x1gb G.Skill@667mhz
2x250gb WD SataII in Raid0
X-Fi Fatal1ty
Sony DVD+/-DL 16x
Antec NeoHE 550w

Glad you got yours working - Im looking forward to getting home tonight and seeing if I cant make mine work too.
What MB are you running?
Z
First I'd like to thank Big Sam for this driver. I have it installed & its working perfectly. My 3DMark06 scores are around the same as my previous system, but I do understand that benchmarking will not be a strong point for a modified driver. All I want is good fps in games for now, and thats what I'm getting.
noobzed,
I had same problem using the asus flex bridge. Try flipping it, solved the problem for me:D
Anyone try these on an ASUS P5B Deluxe yet?
The MB is an Intel d975xbx rev.304.Quote:

Well I got mine running...
I flipped the flexible sli bridge (asus) - it might have just not been seated properly...
3dmarks went up by about 65-70% on all benchmarks.
03 is now 30k+ (without the cpu o/c)
05 is now 14k+ (with the cpu o/c)
06 is now 9k+ (with the cpu o/c)
I did have to change the coolbits dword to 1a to get the sli features with card o/c.
Iwas able to run all benchmarks and play COD2 for 2hrs straight without a single hiccup. (100+fps avg never less than 82 fps in smokey battles!)
Thanks big sam!

Here is a question for the group...
Running an Intel XBX motherboard with SLI (thx Big Sam!)
I was concerned about the temps on the GPU so I picked up a couple of Zalman GPU coolers. I put one on for comparison and was amazed!
At idle it only seemed to make a 5-6c difference, but at load, it ran almost 20c cooler! Thats AWESOME...
Here is the question - has anyone tried to install two of these on this board? How about any other single slot SLI board? It doesnt look like there is room and even if you can get it to fit, is there enough air to make the cooler effective?
Thanks all
Z
if you will read my link i posted here you will see that changing the peg settings in bios on my 975chipset mohterboard made a 10c difference in temp. if someone in this forum really understands what all these peg settings do i think it will make a big difference in the performance of our nvidia sli cards in intel chipset systems.
jmo
thanks

The SLI performance is great with the 85.96 driver, almost 9000 3d marks thanks Sam. Is there something I can do to keep output always from the same card?
I spoke about this problem in the first message of this thread. Most likely the reason this problem is not full removal of the old version of the driver. The problem is solved reinstallation of the driver.Quote:

Thanks!
I ran 3DMark05 with my current setup and I got only 11000 based on 1024x768 ... which to me sounds a bit low for my 7900gtx SLi setup. I am using the hacked drivers 85.96 and an Asus flex bridge. When I went into the Display properties to the Nvidia SLi settings, it doesn't give me the option to enable SLi (as if only one card is installed) and I only see temp settings for one card only. I also checked the Device Manager and saw only one 7900gtx card listed there. Also, I get display corruption after running 3DMark05.
I tried everything: swapped cards, flipped the SLi bridge, swapped the PCI-E power connector, swapped motherboards (same make and model of course), added more case fans, tried the latest non-hacked driver from Nvidia (91.31) ... I even went as far using my old DFI Lanparty NF4 SLi bridge!
I also noticed that 7900GTX HSF never "quiets down" when it is sitting on the second PCI-E slot (the black one). I swapped the cards and it is always the card sitting on the black slot. The one sitting on the orange slot always quiet down. Is this normal? I thought that it maybe the motherboard so I went to the store and purchased another P5W-DH and sure enough, it does it on the new board as well (which means that my old board was still good).
I am stumped! Nothing is overclocked and I am running WinXP Pro SP2. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Here are my benchmarks. They ran quite nice. Altho I have a hard time comparing since noone else I saw with similar specs had SLI running. But I got a full 1000+ marks over the second person (I was in first) for E6600s running in the 2300-2500 Range with 7600GTs.
While this comparison isnt fair since they are crippled graphically this is still a decent basline to go off of. FYI this is with a stock setup. No overclocking at this point. My system has been running a nice cool 29-35(under load) So I am seeing lots of headway for overclocking with aircooling at the moment. anyways these are my benchies.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=463705
If anyone happens upon someone with an Nvidia chipset running a 6600 stock speeds with 2 7600s it would be intresting to note this is what will reveal what chipset is actually better in raw numbers and just via discussion.
I just got the P5WDG2 WS Professional. I have 2 XFX 7900GTX's and when I install the driver here, and select to turn on SLI, after it reboots, Windows doesn't show any image, my monitor goes black as if there was no source at all to it. I am using a flexible SLI bridge Ranger gave me from his P5WD2 Premium.(Might have been a P5WD2-E(975X))
Why won't this work
Everyone I see with good results are using P5WDH as I am sorry I couldn't be of more assistance as I never researched the P5WDG2 board. Getting 11,093 3dmarks06 now though about 1800 more than my X2 4400 @ 2.7Quote:

I went ahead and downloaded the driver at the link that you specified and ran a file comparison with the one that was posted in this thread. They turned out to be the same file but with different names. It looks like your issue was solved by a reinstall of the driver.Quote:

Why wont 7950 GT work in SLI with these drivers?
It´s just plain 7900GT with HDCP support and 512Mb memory.
None of the links to this driver seems to work.. unfortunately..
Could someone be so kind so send me this driver..

Thanks!

It is impossible. Old drivers don't support new devices with 2 GPU working through one PCI-E port.Quote:
