You might want to try Systool. It has complete ocing capability for the Sapphire PURE board. It may work on this one too for that reason.

It should work i used it on grouper and I have used an internal clockgen on the RDX200 without issue.

So I'll just ask, when you run 4 dimms (2gigs) do you get 4-way interleave?

8-way actually ;)

as long as they're all double sided

And at low speeds with matched TCCD or Micron, you can run 1T.

Yes, there are actually :D

They only get recognized as 512MB though (that's the max per bank for the mem controller it seems).

It's always been a possibility to run 4x512 single sided though....but that wouldn't get the 8-way interleave.

How did we go from 2x512 DS running 2-way to 4x512 DS running all the way up to 8-way? Shouldn't the 2-way just have doubled?

Isn't it 4-way with 4 banks (i.e., 2xDS or 4xSS)?

And if you are right....then it's 4-way interleave with 4xDS that this board can do 1T with a few other select parameters.

With the NF4 DFI mobo it only gives you 2-way with 1 gig of mem. Either 2x512 or 4x256 and this is with DS ram. I'm not sure how single sided would work.

Interleaving

Does not rely on ranks, it works on ram density.So 2x512 may give you 4 way and 2x1024 should then give you 8 way.

4x512 at 1t is faster than 2x512 but about the same speed as 2x1024, now if you can run 4x1024 you should have the ultimate speed as long as you are at 1t.

fact is on the A64 we have 4 options of interleaving, 2way, 4 way, 8 way and off. I actually think:
2x256 or single channel = off
2x512 = 2way
2x1024=4way
4x512 and 4x1024=8 way

Hard to say whats actually correct but i know a man who can help.

Please remember it depends on density, not the ranks.

I'm curious about it, since i just got this board yesterday, and it does not boot with Ballistix at all, no matter what slot combo's, 1 stick, 2, ect. But it does boot with my TCCD, but i haven't been able to find any setting that will boot my Ballisitx (and it's a pain to keep switching ram, back and forth, to tweak settings hoping to get the Ballistix to boot).

My advise for anyone that owns just Ballistix memory, and thinking of getting this board, is to wait. Cause you won't be able to play without another set of ram that works with this MB. And if a bios fixes it, you'll need different ram just to flash it as well!)

8-way would be amazing results I would think. But I have never seen 8-way interleave yet. Tony, do you have any results from or comparasons with 8-way interleave?

The issue is im not 100% sure on 8 way with 4x1024 dimms. I do know running 4x512 1t is faster than 2x512, and 4x512 1t is about the same as 2x1024 1t. So, i need to ask some questions and get back to you.

My RDX CF-DR arrived today. In answer to someone else's question earlier, I got it because I hope to be using X1800XT in crossfire mode ASAP and this is one part of the equation done.

I'll probably just play around benching with it until I can actually get an X1800XT. It would be very cool if I could get a master card first day of release but I'm not holding my breath, I'll be happy to find the XT's in quantity.

I just built my 7800 GT SLI rig this week and I've managed 12260 in 3dMark05 so far.

That will be my main rig till the X1800XT starts to materialize in crossfire.
