I posted a thread at Abit forum in regards to temperature sensor reporting really high temps for me.......can you guys tell me what the temps are like on your CPUs......and let us know what bios and CPU you actually have, and temps you are getting through bios and windows....thanks guys

I tried to see if a much faster fan would make a difference in terms of cooling and it made NO difference
It seems that my Venice also has the problem with 1T with this bios so I CHANGED TIMING TO 2T and here are the results:

BTW.....the mosfet heatsink that sits next to that heatpipe copper heatsink is not even warm......more like luke warm at 3.55Vdimm...i was expecting to be able to fry a couple of eggs.....well DFI is supposed to be pretty hot at these volts anyhow......I only have active cooling on the RAM.....92mm fan spinning at 1500RPM....slow just to blow some air over the RAM

i can go as much or close to 2T on 1T but memtest#5 will be clean and test#8 will error.....something funny there.....because is started comparing my old results and it did 238MHz 1T @3.2V memtest#5 clean but #8 was the problem......
There is only 2% real world performance penalty between 1T and 2T so I don't think it's that big a deal......damn it Tictac you can mod the bios as well.....what do you reckon you fix that and a few other things we need ;)

2.8ghz is sweet, what's there to complain about? Unless it u got a higher overclock on the DFI. Also, software measurement of volts is inaccurate. Measure with a Meter to confirm the volts. Now if only someone can point out where to measure.

I am very happy with initial results:YIPPIE: ......I did get better OC with lower divider and lower voltage on Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe BUT this is still a new motherboard...in a few months there will be some better bioses around and then we'll be able to compare the results properly....

Do all the AN8 boards have the stupid incorrect cpu temp problem?
My current board is an Abit and it has the same idiotic problem and I absolutely hate the board because of it. It's great to not know whether your CPU is burning up or not when you're overclocking. Right now my CPU is reading as 64 C. Is it actually 64? Is it 54? 44? Who the ^&$(# knows.
Sorry if I sound bitter, but I was really looking forward to buying an AN8 Ultra and I'm gonna hate having to buy another board because they can't fix a stupid little problem that's been affecting their boards for years.
:lol: it is a little unsettling for me too but i know the temps this CPU reaches normally at these speeds and volts so it's not a big concern.....i also do a sophisticated CPU temp probe test by placing my finger on the base of the heatsink.....since it was Cold-luke warm i don't really get too worried about it......BUT if Abit is monitoring this thread you better fix this damn problem cause temp monitoring is crucial on a heavily overclocked system.....
