I have manage to get my striker to 3.2 on 1.5 volts on the sriker. This is all on crappy thermaltake watercooling. I am going to be cooling the chipset with thermaltake items and the cpu with new watercooling setup so I will post my results soon.

you got wich build of 1401 there are 5 circulating mate... I don't have the latest sadly and my QX9650 is still not here...
Hipro5 has a RETAIL yorkfield and it works fine at stock clocks according to him.... zo ZeroOne the Striker might have the advantage here over the reference boards...
Here's my pm to him lads :

If not I'll have to wait final (beta bios)
Anyway thx in advance
ps :
For us Euros beat them 6ghz benchies !!!
Yes it works BUT ONLY stock....
Hi Everybody, guess this is my first post on XS.
Last week I got a Striker Extreme as getting 1st on a competition and actually got it now.So Usually without doing something bad I read the forums on XS.:D
I'm noob-ish on Intel OCing since this is my first Intel since day 1 in 2000.(Miss AMD so much)
I have decided to use my existing rig except for CPU+RAM+Cooler.
I have already got 2 x 2GB OCZ SLi Ready edition PC6400 RAM kit.(Got it for $110 with a $30 rebate :D, Which I cant resist)[WARNING-OCZ forums say these RAMS will NOT boot more than 1400 FSB what-so-ever,so limited OCing]
I'm planning to get a Q6600 GO and a Zalman CNPS 9700 LED.
Now I have read about the VDroop pencil mod, linflas magic settings,1303 BIOS etc. and about 60 pages of XS threads with Striker and Q6600.(Still reading and saving )
I need following help from you guys if you are willing to help me.(I feel you will)
Need to find the 1303 BIOS for striker Extreme. The FTP ASUS link was a no no.
I live in Sri Lanka where there aint Quads and things.Have to import from LA,CA,USA.So can anybody tell me a e-reselller or a reseller in LA who sells Q6600 G0 or how to identify them B3 or G0?
I feel like Thermalright ultra 120 extreme is better than Zalman CNPS 9700 LED and I noted that I have to buy a fan separately for that.I'm on a tight budget now so money is a problem too.Anyway since it cooles 3~5 C more,I hope to stick with Zalman. Is it good idea? Can anyone tell me who is a good reseller other than newegg to buy one of these coolers for cheap?
Any help on these things will be greately appreciated by me,a humble noob.

QO Q6600 will have SLACR code mate , I think it's rare still find a B3 in the USA at the big online shops
Also as a cooler I kindda like the Xigmatek 120mm version ( look alike of the Thermalright Ultra 120 or eXtreme) but with a fan included at almost half the price of the thermalright plus fan... And it's a pretty good performer too....

Thank you very much for the BIOS and the help.
I just asked about the Q6600 B3/G0 problem coz one of my friends imported a one, month ago bought from new egg had the B3 revision(I definitely saw SL9UM not SLACR)So I was wondering of it.BTW I saw clubIT.com sells exactly G0 s.
Thanks once again FYI.I'll check with the cooler.
To Leeghoofd
Sir I checked with the cooler, and as I read It performs like 4 c higher than a Ultra 120 extreme. Also I would just have to lap the base If I buy it(HDT sux IMHO).But unfortunately I wasn't able to find a reseller of it. :S

can the ASUS P5N32-E SLI oce quads like the striker?
Leeghoofd has been helping me out so I thought I'd post some of the results here
setup:
Striker Extreme (1303)
core 2 quad Q6600 batch# L727B407 pack date 11/08/07
4gig Corsair TWIN2x2048-6400C 800mhz DDR2 (4-4-4-12 2.1v)
Asus en8800gtx (single im poor :( )
2x WD raptors (150 gig)
X-fi Fatality
CoolerMaster 850 SLI ready p-sup
The CPU is cooled by the Zalman Resorator (liquid) The rest of the systme is on air

I've tried the linflas voltages from earlier in this thread too. I played with 8 and 9 multipliers as well as looser mem timings nothing seems to work
333FSB can be done with less voltages too mate on the chipset... did you try the other settings with 2 sticks just to give it a shot ? lower voltage for the ram ( have you tried 2.0 volts ? ) Also does your CPU need +/- 1.4 volts for 3ghz ? Seems a bit high, can you tell us your VOD plz ( read out by coretemp )
For 333FSb this worked fine for me

Yeagh, I'm one of those guys who can't get his Q6600 up above 3.0 (333x9) either. I let go on an AWESOME Xeon that could hit 3600 on this board, and now i'm certianly regretting it - being a gamer. I've got an sli setup with the 8800gtx and have 4GB of OCZ ram installed. I've even tried using a 2GB set of Corsair Dominator and still can't get past the 333 hump.
Kup listed some FSB holes "from 400-424, then from about 450-474" with a hint at the lower FSB holes. Woudl those just happen to start at 334?
I don't have another board to test this Q6600 on, but I don't think it's a stellar overclocker like some people got. I've tried every setting recommended here for Q6600, and 333x9 is ALL I can get. So I've been thinking about going back to a Dual core, just to get some Mhz back.
Along those lines, you folks are saying that the Striker Extreme isn't overclocking a 1333 FSB chip worth a crap?
Yeah, I do believe they start around there too. Basically where a strap change comes into effect, you'll find a hole for about 25MHz (in my finding).
I just asked him that to get a knowledge of his VID as he used 1.45 ( 1.55 set in bios) volts to run his Q6600 at 3ghz, it will prolly do that on his VID voltage, so he can set a lower value for CPU Vcore to see if it remains stable, which he is testing right now... and I told him to lower voltage settings too for his mobo as those were good ( for me) to run 425FSB and he only can get 333FSB stable ( bummer )
But thx for the warning :)
I think the Striker has problems with the G0 core, not just the Quads. My E6600 could pull just shy of 500MHz FSB but would not do more than 425MHz FSB with the E6850...
I've seen that almost all of the striker setups with quads are using the Q6600. I just got my Q6700 in and am hoping to be able to run 10x360 stable on air.
My question is with the higher default multi (10x for my chip as opposed to 9x with the Q6600), will it be easier to get a stable 360 FSB state with the striker and my quad?
Robilar,
I sure hope so, but from what i'm seeing - probably not. I've got a Striker Setup that has pretty much turned my hobby into total frustration. Random lock-up and blue screens and with my shiny new G0 Q6600 333 is the highest FSB i've been able to hit.
What I would like to see is a chart decvised to show us what/where these holes are. Someone mentioned where the strap changes. Well, exactly how do we figure that out? I'm not hardware DUMB, but i'm not a chipset scientist either.
In the beginning i heard that the 680i doesn't like CPUs with 4MB of cache. So Conroe's were doing worse than Allendales. Now, with new BIOS' the Conroe's are doing OK but now the Quad Cores are sucking. Well, I tried the 1401 that someone linked to from this thread.
It didn't let my Quad Core POST at 333x9. So now i'm back to 1303.
I've thought about getting a brand new E6400 and throwing it on my Striker Extreme (bought WAY back when they were still new) and seeing what it can do. In face, give me some feedback, what do you folks think an Allendale E6400 would do on this board?
I can hit 500 fsb with my dual core on air so you can assume that 500 fsb is feasible (at a 7x multi
