Do I see sleeved heatpipe?
thats sick
holy :banana::banana::banana::banana: xien......that looks amazing
Xien's sleeving is exemplary, I'm having my PC parts and sleeving delivered to Isingen, Germany from now on :P
Beautiful sleeving and modding Janik :)
Thanks :D
I hope I can finish it in the next few weeks...

White balance is WAY off in the photos... I think it makes it look interesting though (even though it was a mistake on my part). ;)
One word. Amazing!!!!
So, how about that video tutorial? :D
Crys1s_Gam3r perfect execution!
Thanks illidan :)

Really nice pictures, kwscore :)
thanks Martin ;)
Yuck Beloe (my friend :D), how can you wear such an ugly company name in your signature? "Trademark-grabbers" shouldn't be supported. Especially here at XS, where the issue was able to be discussed. In German forums - due to their influence there - the discussions were deleted and therefore nobody really knows what's going on with this "place of shame". Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!
Martin: Perfection!
As always, great shots Martin! :)
Thanks Chris! :) I'd love to see some of your recent work. :)
Sadly, I havent done any sleeving yet. :( I decided to hold off because I'm going to upgrade my PSU soon, plus I want to make sure that I don't need to extend/reduce the length of the cables for my new case configuration (I sent it off to Charles to have some work done).
I've been working in the studio with some other parts, though, and I'll post them in a worklog soon. :)
anyone here wanna make some money? ill pay you to sleeve up my comp for me lol..I tried and just had bad luck and couldnt get the pins to work etc.. i guess i have no patience :( im located in NJ if anyone is local lol
I've always wondered about that.. what is a fair price to charge someone to murdermod-style sleeve their cables for them. (PSU, front I/O, etc) I always feel like the work is so tedious and time consuming that I'd have to charge them a lot and then they wouldn't want the service done. Does anyone here know what's an acceptable price? I was thinking between $75 and $100 because it's such a rare service that takes so much time.
I believe Crys1s Gam3r does custom sleeving - you might want to send him a PM. As you can see from some of the photos he does, looks like he does great work.
Where does everyone buy their sleeving and shrink?
I bought it from MurderMod for my first project but would like to find out about other options.
Any options with a choice of hot pink sleeve would be much appreciated.
Variety is the spice of life
hey ppl,
i have done two 6pin graphiccard cables.
hope you like my work.... btw the pictures are taken with a HTC HD 2 phone that has a 5 megapixel camera inside... no tripod just two steady hands!

Do you guys figure it is worth buying MDPC and re-sleeving? I am currently using Techflex but it is TERRIBLE. It is nothing like MDPC-X, it is only solid fibers (very stiff, and lets LOTS of colour through). Funny thing is MDPC would have cost just as much.... d'oh.
8times0: What'S the purpose of the cable-tie? :)
@ nils!
i keep my cables in a big box.... all mixed. and there is one thing i hate and that is a knot of cables.
im not that patient with getting a knot out! so this is my solution! ;)
@ Crys1s_Gam3r
what sleeving did you use mdpc-x small for this 24 pin? looks awsome!

Got my MDPC-X Sleeving in Saturday.
Thanks Nils!
Enjoy guys!

Thanks for pointing me out Sharon, I appreciate it. :)
Thanks :). The sleeving was MDPC-x small, but the wires underneath were black.
Today's work: (playing with faux wood background! :D)
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2769/...07da1956_o.jpg
@Crys1s_Gam3r
by using mdpc-x small sleeving for two wires, does others coloured wire like red or orange shown through the sleeving, i might do that instead of single sleeving for each wire.
thank you Crys1s_Gam3r, wel i must say that the wooden background makes it look classy!
Hey Crys1s,
Anyway you can show a picture of that 2 wire sleeving job from the top of the connector? I'm curious how you heatshrinked it? Did you just heat shrink the sleeving only?
Those were done for an EVGA forum member (thor88), so I don't have access to them. IIRC, I first heatshrinked the pins together (stopping at the usual distance), then put the sleeve over it, and shrunk again in the same place. Using an xacto knife, I cut a small slit -- just long enough so that the heatshrink could enter the connector unblocked by the plastic wall. I'll check the archives to see if I have a better pic. :)
Thanks, very appreciated.
No problem, hope that helped. Unfortunately, that's the best pic I have as far as showing the heatshrink is concerned.
fhantastic always great shot
@Beloe : Nice work.. :clap:
Do you use insulation tape for white sleeving?
thank you :)
and no.. i donīt use tape

good work guys and really nice photos... has anyone of you done 24pin atx or 8pin eps/pcie with the grey mdcp sleeves? was searching for some photos (finished builds) but couldn't find one (or maybe i'm not searching enough :)). i'm trying to convince myself to get the grey, i like the color but i'm just not sure if it's dark enough so would appreciate if someone can point me to a photo/link. thanks
Does anyone have photo's of SATA Power cables sleeved? I'm trying to see how the push-down method looks with the sleeving and heatshrinking?

Like this one?

CaloSIM, those are SATA Data cables. I'm looking for power cables sleeved. :-)
http://dangals.skinneelabs.com/DSC00994.jpg
like those?
Yeah, Thanks... Do you have the heatshrink in between the push pins to create the contact with the wire? Or is it before you snapped the protector over the SATA connector?
what on gods green earth did you do to those capacitors??? I like it! wanna do it myself! tell meh your secrets!
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...DSC_6688-1.jpg
See those solid strands? THAT is why I hate Techflex.... look at all the light showing through.
Your clean lines on your heatshrink alignment is sick bro... Nice work
Wow those last few posts were awesome quality (workmanship that is, photography too, but I was referring to the first)
Thanks 3dchipset and DynomiteMat :)
IMO I would use a bit more heatshrink.... it just looks so tiny... maybe 3-4mm more? I guess that adds up over every pin though.
Thanks Nils, it finally arrived :)

http://i44.tinypic.com/dlsvtd.jpg
gross crys1s gam3r....... you realy raised the bar to high for me!
wel explain to us how do you pull that nice even lenght of that shrink off!!!??? let us in on your secret! lol
Trust me, that heatshrink holds the sleeve secure. :) I heat it extra long (just before it begins to melt), so the sleeve bonds slightly with the wire insulation, and the heatshrink grips it as tightly as possible. 3-4mm extra would look uglier (IMO). No offense :)
Thank you! :) No secret, just LOTS of practice and patience... honestly I went through a good 3/4 of a Family-pack before I could get get it completely even. I'm constantly refining my methods, so if I gave you specific advice now it might be obsolete in a week or two. :D
Do you usually shrink the ends you see first (which would be at the 24/4/6/8 pin connectors)?
I sleeved my hx1000 awhile back, but didn't open it up. I went to sleeve one wire at a time, and I cut all the sleeving close to perfect (since it stretches its hard to cut all exactly same length), but no matter what I did, even if the heatshrink at the end with the connector was the same, the sleeving in the heatshrink at that end wouldn't like up straight.
It looks perfect from a distance, but is far from perfect. Idn, maybe you should do a sleeving tutorial video? Hell, I'm sure you could market it with nils and have him selling it with the sleeving haha
Xien: pure sex (last fan connector pic). :)
kwscore, fresh pictures :D
You Know ;) Stuff frome MDPC-X always looks soo fresh
Guys, can I ask you where are you ordering those sleevings, are there any online shops in Germany?
Kind Regards
Ohh u lucky guy...ure right next door to nils...If i was there I would get a whole TJ 07 mod from him.
search for mdpc and u will get your answer
This heatshrink uv reactive?
http://en.mdpc-x.com/mdpc-sleeve/hea...small-blue.htm
UV-heatshrink is bad heatshrink when it comes to physical properties. At least this is my personal experience :)
Hi everyone!
As you can se i'm new to the forum, and I wanted to ask a few things since i'm building my new rig. I have already modded (if it can be called that way) my Cosmos S awaiting for my new components. So here are the questions:
1) Should i go air or liquid?
2) If liquid single or dual loop?
3) I'm tempted to void my PSU warranty and try to make it look like the masterworks i've seen here, should I do it?
4) Of course I want the MDPC-X world famous sleeve to do a single braid in all the PSU cables, This one is for DualBrain i Think... Can the sleeve be sent to lets say... Costa Rica?
I think that all for now, i wanna thank all for their answers.
PD. Forgive my lame english, where I live we speak spanish so i dont have a lot of practice.
Might wanna start a new thread, but I'll answer anyway :)
1: Upto you, mostly budget, if you want/need the better temps (due to noise issues or wantin to oc) go for it. If you just want something cheap & effective go with air
2: Single most likely
3: If i could do my psu again, I'd just buy extensions for all the cables I needed for my psu and sleeve those:
-Cheaper (less sleeve), although price of the extension themselves might make that up
-Easier to sleeve
-Gives you time to sleeve (won't have to hurry up so you can use your rig, can sleeve the extension and still use your pc)
-Won't void your warrenty
-Don't have to worry about re-sale value of your psu decreasing (in case someone doesn't like the sleeving colors)
-Don't have to worry about re-sleeving your next psu
Just My opinion, save yourself the hassle and use extensions
4: I wouldn't doubt it could be sent there, I know they ship from germany to us/can so why not if you pay shipping? :)
Surely MDPC-X would send to Costa Rica, I've ordered once and I'm from Mexico City :). I'd just recommend you to really plan in advance the lengths of sleeving and heatshrink you'll need, and add some extra if possible. Shipping from Germany isn't exactly cheap so make the most from your order :)
Ok thank all for the answers =P the WC or air thing was just to hear some advices. As for the extensions my case came with two: the 8 pin CPU and the 24 pin, the extension thing never came to my mind untill you said it (lol) so thanks for the advice. I think that with the extensions I have I only need 6 x 6+2 pin PCI-E extensions so here is another question: How much sleeve and heatshrink will I need to sleeve the extensions (8 pin CPU, 24 pin mobo and the 6 pci-e), 10 fans, the sata cables (6) and the front panel cables (like 10)?
I want to apologize for my ultra noob questions... but I'm an ultra noob at this kind of things. =)
I bought the sleeving 'kit' from mdpc that has all the black heatshrink/sleeving you could need for a power supply, then I got 10meters of red sleeving for accents (red/black), I sleeved all of my hx1000 (with the exception of a few 4 pin cables and such I don't need) AND did extensions for my 24-pin and three 8-pins and I still have some left over.
Might just want to do a rough estimate, say your extensions are 12"
24pin + 8pinx6 + 10x24 (just rough est. for fans if they were 24" each), + front say 5*24
Is 693" of sleeving so say 700" to feet is: 58.3' which is about 17.8 meters
Then plus heatshrink & sata cable sleeving.
Since you have to buy in 10meter lengths, if you want to do two colors get one [10 meter] section of each, plus heatshrink and sata sleeving/shrink
ok ppl tell me what do you think of my work on my jack 6.5mm cables.
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...work/plug1.png
Fantastic work on those cables...
Starting my first sleeving work... :)

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/6895/dsc04790jg.jpg
Dam i was going to do that color scheme :( now i will have to think a new one. Overall the price w/o the shipping for the stuff at MDPC-X is like 45 euro and with the shipping i think it will be more than half of my paycheck :ROTF: but its worth every single penny
Ah crap, I didn't factor in the sleeving for the 8 pin extensions right. I did 8pins x 6extensions instead of 8 x 6 x 12 (length of each wire)
Comes out to about 102' or 31meters. I thought it sounded a bit low before haha
Trust me, I sold off my 4870x2 a month or so ago and every penny that i got for that went into sleeving. Yea it's quite the investment (which is why I said to go with extensions haha) but you'll love it.
So its 31 meters of small sleeve + 3 meters of small heatsrhink + i believe 5 meters of sata sleeve + 70cm of sata heatshrink... i wanted to do 3:1 black/red theme but the GPUs kind of screw it all... oh well nothing can be perfect =P
Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to buy extra though, I did my psu and had plenty left over, and loved it soo much I ended up sleeving my keyboard, mouse, headset, usb cables, etc...
Wow, i think i'll end up sleeving my cats :ROTF: anyway i'll buy the sleeve as soon as i can. So far thank you Dyn0miteMat for helping me out :up::up::up:
Hey guys, i'm new to the forums and i've got a question... Last night, I ordered a system sleeving kit from frozen CPU... I was wondering if it was going to be enough for my WHOLE PSU! The 4 pin, 6 pins, 8 pin, 24 pin, ect ect. Also, is this a single sleeve kit? like braiding or is it just around all the wires mumbo jumbo... I would love a response! Below is the link
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/89...tl=g35c183s992
^^^
Thanks guys!
This is what'll be sleeved
2x 6 Pin Single (plan on it atleast)
1x 8 Pin Single
1x 24 Pin Single
2x Sata Cable
1x Sata Power Cable (Possibly...)
Fans are already sleeved...
Depending on what i have, i might just sleeve what you can actually see. Other than that, thats pretty much it! :]
I got a kit off of frozencpu a few years ago (I don't think they have mono-sleeving kits) and it sucked, it looks alright I guess once its all done, but its fun trying to get the sleeving over 1 wire/pin let alone 24 at once haha
I was going to buy one of that kits, looked good on the pictures, but i preferred to ask the pros first rather than pay and regret after the job its done...
