Prolly chip max. I had one top out early, did the same thing. This E6420 does over 3.7 orthos stable, had nothing to do with the board. Rev 1 overclocks better than 3.3 also...

You're safe on CPU voltage up to 1.55V. The vdrop on these boards is absolutely horrible. Don't even look at speedfan, it's WAYYYY off. Setting 1.4V in bios, 1.39V read in speedfan, multimeter reads 1.30-1.31V IDLE. Doesn't dip from load much more, 1.28V under load with 1.4V set in bios and easytune agreeing with bios.
What I'm saying: Give the cpu more volts. If you set 1.5V, which is still within the air cooling safe zone, it's actual value is likely closer to 1.4V anyways..
Can anyone break 1066mhz Dual channel Cas 5 on this board? I sure as hell can't but I can hit 1000mhz Cas 3 w/ 2.82V and 1.68V on the nb... Starts giving me errors and or hardlocks after 1066mhz Cas 5... 2x512MB PC8000 Ballistix and it's DEFINATELY not the ram holding the clocks back (the actual physical ram, could be a timing issue but I dunno. I use auto sub-timings on boot...)
I am having terrible cold boot issues with the ds3 rev 3.3 BIOS F12. What BIOS seems to be the best with the cold boots. I had an occasional one with F11, but is there one that is known for being the least cold boot prone?
dumb question but will using a ds3 vesion 1.0 or 2 bios matter if I have version 3.3?
I looked at the official list of bioses for ds3 3.3 and it only has 10, 11, 12.
So could I flash down to F8 and be fine? Also I have a e4300, so will it be compatible with that BIOS revision?
I broke 1100mhz single stick with only 2.1V 2 different times with each stick. Cranking the voltage all the way up to 2.7V yielded no improvements. MCH voltage all the way up to the OCP limit (1.75V) didn't help either. I can't break 465mhz FSB on the board either and I've got a golden E6400 (Will do 3400mhz 1.2V.)
I guess I'm finally coming to the realization that with motherboards you get what you pay for.

Now EasyTune Show real cpu temps means cpu diode temp like CoreTemp
Hi , I have a DS3P rev3.3 , latest bios is F5 ! , Are there any bios F6 , F7 vs .. ??

Still having no luck breaking 1066mhz dual channel on this board. Supposibley the F9 bios fixed the D9 issues but clearly it hasn't. It even says in the bios update fixes that it can do 1000mhz 4-4-4-12 2.2V, 1100mhz 5-5-5-15 2.25V and 1200mhz 5-8-8-20 2.35V. Definately doesn't work on my board and I'm using the S3 F10 bios (F12 for DS3.) I wonder if switching between S3 and DS3 bios has somehow affected it... I'm gonna try flashing back to F2 and then flash through every version.
after install this my CPU runs 1C cooler
I confirm Hamid's observations...my temps are also running lower under Prime95 (latest build) stress testing.
My ds3p rev 3.3 up to 500 fsb with +4.50 mch voltage is it dangerous?
Had the same type of problem - couldn't get beyond 3.3ish regardless of the multi/FSB combination. However, I can boot at 3.6 in a 2-step process:
1. set the FSB to 401 (or higher), multi to 8.
2. reboot and move the multi to 9.
I think the 8x401 sets the correct (lower?) strap, then switching to 9 multi (plus increased volts) while it is correct keeps you from going out of range on something.
Also, once it is set to boot at 9x401 there is no need to go back to 8x401 if you power off. However, if the board resets to the x266 default, you need to redo the procedure. I've set up a "reset strap" entry on my CMOS save list to make it easier.
It also worked to boot at 7x444 and then reboot to 8x444.
Hope it works for you.
I also found another thing with new Fix!
EIST is more Manageable for OS and works better than before
hi everyone, can anyone give the vdimm, vcore, and vmch readout point and vmod point for 965p-DQ6?
thanks
