Hi to everybody. I just bought a corsair 4gb kit TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX and i have problems on P5b deluxe.
This is my system:
e6300
p5b deluxe wifi
enermax coolergiant 600w
My system is rock solid on 460x7 with a very cheap Kingston 2x1GB kit.
I tried the new rams: one 2gb does not go beyond @900, the other one reach @920 (at @930 i get erros, at @940 i get BSOD). Memtest by floppy does not give any problems at @930, it finishes one full cycle on 460x7, but Memetest in Windows and Orthos get a lot of errors.
I set the mobo in this way:
vNB: 1,45
vRam: 2,3 (Corsair recommends 2,1 on default frequency)
letency: 5-5-5-15.
I read a review about the cas5 kit, and it reaches @1066, mines are cas4, so they cannot stop at @920.
Do you think it's my mobo?

Have you tested 5-6-6-15 ? I had to use that setting when going from 2GB to 4GB on different memory than what I have now. two sticks worked fine at 5-5-5-15 and 4 sticks needed 5-6-6-15. Worth a test if you have not.Quote:

I am having a bit problem with my Memory Timings on 1004 BIOS Rev. but now updated to 1219 Rev. What are you suggestions with the SubTimings on 2GB Kingston Hyper-X 1066? If I want to play a game, it is stable when setting at Auto Timing which is 4-4-4-11 according to CPUZ.
My Configuration are:
430x7
860Mhz DRAM
Vcore 1.300
Mem Vol. 2.10
NB 1.45
SB 1.50
ICH Auto
It is stable on orthos alittle over 8 hours when setting at Auto for DRAM Timings under NorthBridge Settings.

The only thing that allowed me to POST was to lower the memory speed. I'd like to overclock my CPU and at least be able to run the RAM at it's rated speed, but I'm having difficulty.
I read that this RAM really enjoys high TrFC (48+), but this board will let me go up to 43 max (in the BIOS), could this be causing my problems?
Once I get home from work I'll mess with it more. I haven't tried raising the NB voltage or anything (when I say I haven't spent much time, I LITERALLY haven't spent much time) :P

you are in for a lost course if you think you can run ram higher than FSB, P965 is a :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: with 4 modules. Why don't you set 1:1 then pumd up the FSB until you hit the wall, there is no chance that you can ultilize your memory at full speed.Quote:

Great news! I decided to drop my multiplier to 8, and memory speed to 800MHz, and raise the FSB to 400MHz, and I'm STILL getting the BSOD'S! WOOOHOOO! I think this pretty much means it's my motherboard and not my RAM/CPU, etc. I think flashing down to BIOS 1219 might fix my problem. I was really beginning to worry that maybe my CPU wasn't liking anything over 3.4GHz... seems that might not be the case :]
Sad day, I think my board might just be a bad overclocker :(
Flashed to 1219, and I still cant boot into Windows with anything over 375ish FSB. I tried raising every voltage I could think of. I dropped the memory down to 800MHz (I'm using x2 Patriot 1GB sticks rated at 1000Mhz), and dropped the multiplier on the CPU, and still nothing. I simply wont boot into Windows. I raised the vNB to 1.65 (highest it'll let me) and nothing. Though, with all voltages set to AUTO (except for vDIMM that's at 2.1v), it'll run 24/7 @ 366MHz FSB (3.3GHz).
Anyone have any suggestions? There's gotta be something I'm missing, if not I might have to get myself a Maximus Formula, lol ._.
I did not do any bench test, all I want to do is to get above 450FSB on my P5B-D to run My wolfy at 4.2GHz, but i can't with 4 modules of ram. So I bought P5K-E.Quote:

It even talks about a memory hole. I would suggest that you bench between changes to see if there is any benefit. Sometimes one thing will increase and another will drop. You don't know unless you do some basic testing.
I know this is just one synthetic bench. But, I use it with some others like file move etc. My memory is low because I have moved 2GB x4 slower memory just to have the 8GBs. But, my others numbers went up with the increase in memory. I don't think more hardware memory is my bottleneck with Vista 64.
