did you try 1.59375 or whatever lower vcore?
Well, the cpu needs 1.6V to do 3.88GHz stable...
But you mean it might be the Vcore that's causing problems?
Gonna try to play around a bit with it!
I have a DS3 rev 3.3 which came with the F10 BIOS just wondering if its worth upgrading to F11?
Voltage wise my DS3 is poor I set 1.35625V in BIOS and idle I get ~1.325V load I get ~1.31-~1.29V, does F11 do anything to help this?
Hi, Mates!
Gave F10 for DQ6 v1.0 a shot, and as always, the later then F6 bioses lower performance a tiny bit. Even with turbo ram settings and a clear latency and bandwith advantage for F10, it still doesent quite catch up with F6 in 3dmark2001..
On the upside, this bios allow me to run ram 1:1 @972mhz 5-5-5-15 2.1v at turbo settings 7x486, witch was broken in F6. And this improves latency and bandwith a tad.
CPU coretemp seems a little lower then F6, and E6600@3.4ghz 1.344v (1.3750 in bios) is 10h+ orthos stable.
Most of the benchmarks later then 3dmark01 is as fast as the F6 bios, so this one is a keeper for now.
Got a 44504 point score in 3Dmark2003 with a single XFX8800GTX 630m XXX@648/2106 and E6600@3.4ghz (486x7 1:1) all at 24/7 stable settings.
Help me out Guys :(
I wrongly flashed a 965G-DS3 bios on a 965P-DS3 board, and now it acts erratic, but when i try to flash back the correct one, it says the ID is not correct! I need to bypass the ID, how should i do that?
i think the old windows flasher can do it. if you use the dos program, try some different flags to force it. -f /f etc
which software are you using to monitor the temperature on windows?
I got TAT and Coretemp, they both show the same.
Easytune shows 10° less than TAT and Coretemp.
thanks in advance
Everest 4.0 shows correct core#1 and core#2 temps, it also finally gives a correct reading of the +12v, took them a while, but better late then never.
Where that CPU sensor that Gigabyte reads from is located, I'm not sure of, but ignore it. Everest shows it aswell, but forget about it, core#1&2 reading is what most ppl are using. TAT and Coretemp will do just fine..
By old windows flasher do you mean @Bios software from Gigabyte?
Already tryed it, doesnt allow me too, it now detects the board as a 965G, and only allows that kind of bios :(
The dos program, i write /help to see the commands, i use the command to overwrite it, when trying to flash it simply hangs!
Im screwed right?
I did some further testing on my E6600 with the new F10 DQ6 bios, and just finished a 12h Orthos run at 500x7 3.5ghz 1000mhz RAM 1:1 5-5-5-15.
The everest idle corevolt is 1.38v, and after droop it stays at 1.36v during the Orthos run. While I'm desperately waiting for the Ultra120 Extreme/Ultima90, this was done on AC Freezer Pro, and temps never went over 55C.
Seems my E6600 is a pretty decent chip..
Dont know who/what ever to believe, some guys said that the Gigabyte memory is a "mess", memory wont o/c and compability problems, Thats why I ordered ASUS P5K deluxe, after some readings, I realize that the Asus cooling really sucks, MOSFETS getting very hot, and they got some RAID probs, I am using a pair of Mushkin XP8500(D9MGH) is there anyone who can confirm it will work with the Gigabyte, atm that is holding me back to pick Gigabyte, I got to know today, So i can change my order tomorrow (last date), because I already payed :X So Any help much much much appreciated!!!
I think you're better off w/ any P35 motherboard, like my P5K Deluxe. I've had 2 DS3's, still using a rev. 3.3, and this a better motherboard in so many ways. The memory timings/bandwidth are amazing. And I don't know who has problems w/ temps, but I don't.
With plane old Crucial Ballistix pc2-6400 (800), I'm getting almost 10,00MB/s read, latency of 52ns, @ 1104 speed, normal voltage.
Currently just drifting along at 460x7=3.2.
Yea oke but did u do some active cooling? are the MOSFET not hot ?
No extra cooling, just stock. All stock/auto voltages, except vdimm and vcpu.
F12 for the DS3 is now on jzelectronic.de
"1. Fix E4300 FSB266 mit PC800".
"Dynamic clock lowering" , how is that option called in the bios ?
I might try the F12 too , but don't see it yet on the gigabyte website .

Hello everyone, I'm new here, and I'd be very gratefull if you answer me on some questions
I've gor DS4 rev 3.3, and I'm constantly having problems with my memory: 2gb kit Cellshock pc-6400, max I can get (not very) stable is porr 931 @ 5-5-5-15, and in friends pc it can go as high as 1200 at same timings...
And the other thing is that i' ve got fsb wall on my e4300 at 354mhz, anything can i do about it?
Thanks very much, in advance!
At my friends for 1200 a give 2.45v @ 5-5-5-15
Jeez the DS3 is giving some weak memory clocks for me. Just got a 2x512mb kit of Ballistix PC8000 and they are hitting a wall around 520mhz in dual channel and 550mhz in single. I was able to do 550mhz 4-4-3-5 w/ tight sub timings and 2.40v. Tried 5-5-5-15 w/ loose subtimings 2.4V and couldn't break 550mhz again...
