What's the best RAM to run 8GB on this board and still be able to overclock? I've been wanting to lose my page file for awhile, but none of my RAM will overclock very well. I'm also not made of money, so I can't run out and blow $400 on RAM.

thanks stasio
anybody with rev 1.6 try the FDa bios? opinions?
and i thought i was cool getting rev 1.6
but here is the change lol
"Aside from featuring the new Smart 6 system management utilities package, this model remains unchanged, which is totally fine with us. The EP45-UD3P is one of the best P45 motherboards on the market and it has been continously acclaimed for its overclocking capabilities
I had UD3P rev1.1, now i have rev.1.6. Using with last Beta BIOS FDa about 2 weeks, since i've got the board. 500x8 with my Q9650. Great stable and i find rev. i.6 much stable with less voltages, but need more MCH_REF and CPU_REF than rev.1.1. BTW it has one new feature - "Quick Boot" and it's booting very quickly.Great board so far for 24/7 quad OC. Only 1.28V VMCH for 500mHz Prime and Linpack stable with 4 sticks memory. I think it has some minor changes, because my Win7 installed on rev 1.1 find some new hardware.
how do you adjust the damn GTLREF on this board? I dont see it in bios:confused:
Hey guys, I'm planning to get a UD3P and put my UD3R on my kids rig. I can migrate my setting use for my OC's with my Q9650 on the UD3P without problems right?
Thanks
I got stable at 4.03Ghz on my Q9650 and 1140Mhz on my 8GBPI with the following settings, but I am not sure they are optimal...I am hoping someone in this thread can help me improve them :D:D Can I reduce any of these voltages or get the FSB/clock higher somehow? I have tried lowering fsb and using dividers but the damn thing will just not stabilize...

I e-mailed GIGABYTE Technical Support regarding the EP45-UD5 board and they advised that due to the performance of the P55 chipset, further P45 projects (including the EP45-UD5) have been cancelled and most of the EP45 boards, with the exception of one, have been EOLed now :(
Yepper. This board and quads rock.
Did this awhile ago just for kicks..

Yes I found out Vantage doesn't count if the physx is on.
When it gets cooler here I'll do some more benching.
Just taking my chip through it's paces. I'll have to say this chip is probably the best chip I've owned so far considering my weak psu and mushkin ram I'm using. Plus it was only $170.00 at the MC. Still nothing to sneeze at... :yepp: Waiting on some PCP&C Silencer and some quality DDR3 and then I'll see what she's really made of.

zucker dont you think 75c a bit high lol
My humble E5200 + EP45-UD3R. The challenge was to get the highest overclock while leaving VTT and VCORE at stock. :)

I'm still stabilizing this thing as it fails Large FFTs or Medium Data Set on OCCT. Then I'll move on to highest possible overclock while keeping voltages within absolute maximum settings.
Memory multiplier, do you mean the memory clock or the divider? It's factory rated at 1100, so I am just ocing 40Mhz. The RAM seems to be ok at 1140, but prime failed 2/4 tests after 12 hours even though the system was still very stable for use. I will try raising the DRAM voltage and testing again...
I just bought one of these boards to go with my Q9550 and 2x2 Gb DDR2-1000 G-skill ram. It is rev.1.6 bios FB.
I have it at 3.3 Ghz stable now, but everytime i restart the machine or save and exit cmos it hangs and stays a black screen until I hit the reset button:confused:
Is there some setting that i need to change? Is this a common thing with these boards?
maybe try the latest bios for 1.6 rev boards
http://forum.gigabyte.de/forumdownlo...8/P45UD3P2.zip
see if that helps.(lawl thanks to statsio, i couldnt find this bios until he kindly posted it a few pages back)
but i doubt this is the issue with the booting troubles
i would try raising voltages on by .02 on the minor adjustments, and setting vcore above 1.42 bump.
maybe set the ram to 2.0~2.1 since you said you had pc 8000 gskill. doubt that has much affect since you shouldnt be overclocking the memory, unless you have the strap set funky...that could the problem fior no booting.
ahhhh started my weekend early tonight...
well its 5 am now lol...bed time...beer going back to fridge..no more.
Ok, my plans of getting a UD3P for myself and giving my UD3R rev.1.1 to my kids are on hold. Cause the only available rev for the UD3P here in my country is the rev.1.6. I was hoping on getting a UD3P rev.1.1 but no more.
How different in terms of voltage is the v1.1 from the v1.6? Is the rev.1.6 much better than the rev1.1?
Thanks!
