It is connector for debug leds as said largon.

as soon as njkid32's MB arrive I'll try to read CPU via JTAG. I'll post photos of the process...We still need more info regarding AMD JTAG.

it seems as if someone on an AMD forum was going for this one also, judging by the fact that i can still see the topic he didnt succede but heres the topic.
http://forums.amd.com/index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=33427
i am running out of places to look and terms to search for. Can anyone give me anything more specific than AMD, JTAG, & algorithams? cuz il just pulling up summeray docs with stuff like "JTAG programmed with AMD ALGORITHAMS" and nothing technical at all. Need more info...

Sorry for my ugly English.

As you wish.
For start we need:
1. Programmator board - (I'll do it) ... DONE
1b. CPU for experiments (I'll try one of that 3500+'s if they are not completely dead)..ALMOST DONE
1c. Mobo to take socket for CPU and get power for the CPU. ... ALM. DONE
2. Timings min/max for CPU JTAG, Voltage levels. ... NONE
3. Software for programming ... NONE (but I'll try openwince, jtag tools)
4. Command set for CPU JTAG ... NONE (DONE if it is standart AMD\Fujitsu)
Thats enought to start.
If all will be good, I'll read CPU registers etc, change bits on C0010041/42 registers and write it back. This is for beginning..
Somebody asked does it fit for S754. Answer - Yes. It will fit to ANY Athlon/Athlon64/A64X2/A64FX/Opteron/Sempron CPUs.
can anyone attempt to coax a BSDL file out of AMD, they dont have any posted past K6, but if i understand right, a BSDL file will contain the frequancys and command set needed.
ah.. interesting... leds?Quote:

KoHaN69,
remember those 4 bright red leds on your Ultra-D that light up to brace the moment your DFI snuffs your UTT to the oblivion?
Those are the leds you can see on your front panel if you use this connector.
(it provides mini 1394, external SATA and S/PDIF too)
:)
they just give diagnostic info, basically steps in bootup, if they stop with less than all 4 lit, your boot failed and if you look it up it will say stuff like, inisialising HTT, or setting RAM freq, basically if you OC a bunch of stuff, it will tell you the first thing that didnt work
No, look here :fact:Quote:

Unlocked CPU's must be even more appealing to laptop users...
BACK TO TOPIC AT BOARD
here's how the slotA thunderbird was unlcoked

Someone else posted earlier that their MSI corecenter unlocked at 12.5x
and asked if its a software level bug or actaully unlocked
Well, I found it here:
http://www.computing.net/cpus/wwwboard/forum/12017.html
that a person had a similar situation, and it apparently was not an software error because CPUZ said same multiplier
Maybe the msi bios was flipping out?
must have been, dump is identical also, oh well not much can be done about it since its back to normal, thanks alot tho for finding that thread
I suppose you are the one with the MSI overcling utilityQuote:

well, this is very interesting, good luck to Tin_Eof for all your work, and hope you create something that we can all use. I have a 4000+ and that would be awesome to have pretty much an FX 53 sitting under my heatsink.

It says debug because it is a front panel debug led

just boot sequence stuff, like the LED display on the fatality boards, but more like the LED's on the MSI boards, just various 4 light codes for what stage of post. if say the top two and the last one is lit (i think i remember right) thats the code for setting CPU freq, if you OC'ed the cpu to much the system will hang then. its just so that when you cant post you know where it failed instead of just having to clear cmos and guess.Quote:
