you could take a look at sigma 24-70 2.8. i used this lense on my pentax and i liked it. it has great build quality but is big and heavy compared to the tamron lense. i think af from tamron is a bit faster.

I had the D70 as a hold-over until I could afford a Canon body that didn't feel uncomfortable in my hands, everything except its crappy battery life is awesome. D70's battery performance is like a freaking Energizer bunny, where charging the thing before going out to shoot was an afterthought, so it's a bit of a slap in the face to have to constantly worry about it. Lovin' the images out of this thing.Quote:

Not to be a jerk, but that doesnt seem like a very smart choice. the first 1D uses a lower image quality CCD at a partly 4.5MP. I know MP isnt everything, but 4.5 is pretty annoying. You cant really crop at all.Quote:
