Maybe your quad can´t do 4,0GHz without raise the vcore above 1,3625, maybe it´s to much for it, you may have to settle for less.

Go above 1,3625 for 24/7 is not recommended if you intend to hold on to that chip for a while, for a short while for bench it´s probably okey.

The ref voltage don´t work the same way as, for example vcore, more voltage higher GHz output, those value work best in a certain % of CPU Term.

I have found that CPU ref work best ~63,5% of CPU Term with 45nm dual and quad and MCH ref ~70% (for quad) and ~60% (for dual) of CPU Term, one or two step up or down from that should be enough.

I'm using 2 128 SSD's in RAID. That is partitioned 146 for OS and programs 88 for Steam games.

Good to know. Maybe i wont pair them. I'll test the tridents and pi seperate and just grab a second set of whichever is better.

You got me on the WEI numbers...dont know why it scores lower. I score 21k on 3dmark06 and vantage.

Here is where I'm at with my new setup for my Work PC. I was hoping for lower vcore than what I have, but not sure I can do it. I cant's pass large FFT's if I lower vcore cuz it fails in about an hour. I'll have to tweak more as I find time to try to lower volts, but I can live with this for now! I still am trying to figure out why my CPU Temp reads about 10c higher than my Core 1/2 Temps when stress testing.

I use the 120g vertex for win7, games, and daily use. The 640WD I use for vista, misc. storage and the 32g warp for xp and benching.

my UD3P is making a noise, it seems that comes from the CPU VRM, when the BIOS and in FULL
is normal?

If its a buzz noise its normal.

I still haven't had a chance to sit down and overclock mine.

They wouldnt boot into windows at 1200 1.8 but will at 1.9v. Everest scores identical to the pi's. Now lets see if they'll go any higher :yepp:

Is there any way to reduce the amount of mch voltage needed? I need 1.36 to get 475, but to get to 500fsb I need 1.46

Anybody have anything you want me to try with the Tridents? So far tried 400/2.66d=1333, 200/2.66c=1333, 2.66/2.50a=1250 all were no post. Auto settings.2.0v That was at 500fsb. I'll try droppin the multi and raisin the fsb some now. i'll also try to drop pl to 7 for the 333/2.40b=1200.

Ok, now thats 2 sets of tridents that wont boot 1200 at 1.8, maybe there not the same ics as the blades.

I thought the 2.66 strap was bugged (at least on mine and others). Try 333 or 400.

266/2.50 works fine on my board

How hot are they at 2.0v?

Dead. I put the pi 9600's in with them at 1000 1.9v, Pi's were tested stable at the lower voltage. No post with all 4 Dimms.. Now wont post with just tridents. Pi's still post fine. Maybe the 2.0 got em? I have an antec spot cool on them. Dunno. I wasnt that impressed b4 they died. Gonna get some more Pi's...

Yeah these LV are VERY sensible to volts specially when the Gigabyte board is known to overvolt mem's, I would say that 1.9v on BIOS is more like 2.0v on real world.

Stick with the 9600 PI's that can take 2.5v without breaking a sweet.

I finally got my other ssd for the xp install and so far its showing some nice gains in spi. The timings on the xp runs were a little tighter but were only about 1 sec better than the win7 timings. Later in the week I should be able to get some improved 5ghz 1m runs done.

Yeah, the 9600 PI's look like they're still the best. Just like what Sergio said, no matter how much voltage you give it it, it could take it.:up:

I'm trying CPU Term everywhere from 1.3-1.4v wiith CPU ref ~63% and MCH ref ~60% (at Ghostleader's recommendation), MCH 1.36-1.5v

I've gotten stable (Orthos for a hour) once at 505 FSB 4.05 GHz and 1212 MHz.

I have yet to get the RAM past 1240 without failing Memtest, Linpack, etc...

Any ideas?
