Funky, with my new E8400 and this board I am able to hit 461mhz FSB no problem. That's with a single notch up in NB voltage. I am going to experiment with dropping the multi down to 8x and testing ~515mhz FSB later to see if I can get more performance out of the ram, but it's already running at 560mhz at a 5:6 ratio, 333/800 strap. I'm thinking that maybe even though the speed will go down, with tightened timings I can squeeze some more bandwidth out of it.
Yeah, i tried clocking my E6750 and it clocked easy. Its my chip, it suddenly gave out a while back, not its not booting at all with that chip.

Would you say that the P35 is better than the X38/X48 for a Q9450?
The Q9450 is going to hit a hard FSB wall well before the chipset reaches its limits. It comes down to what GPU configuration your looking at.

Anyone experienced Problems at around 402-405 FSB with this Board. The reason I ask, is that I have been running a series of tests using Both Small FFT and Blend.
I know Praz has said that Small FFT are a waste of time for this board. Well after like 3 days of continuous testing. Here are some results that is causing me confusion and dilemma.

The failures are always around the Large FFT (256K, 1024K) over 400 FSB.
I have tried 405FSB with Small FFT but Failed after 5.5h, with 1.375v VCore, so I guess if I raised VCore it would pass over 8.0h.
So the question is, is it a board problem or a memory problem?
Small FFT is not a waste of time as a test. It is a waste to use for overall stability testing as you yourself have shown in the above example. Failing large FFTs' at times can be difficult to pinpoint. The possibilities are memory, interaction between the memory and NB or between the CPU and NB.
My Apologies for misquoting you, but as you can see I have passed Blend at 400 FSB but fails miserably around the 402 Mark, so can I not dismiss memory as a problem, since all all setting in DRAM are in Auto mode except for CL which I have set to 5-5-5-15 as per Crucial and Memset shows performance level = 8 which I think is pretty loose.Quote:

Everytime I try to oc my quad above 3.3 Ghz and start prime95 the systems start automatically and then it ON and OFF rapidly several times and then start again as normal.
Did anybody experience this crap symptoms before.
The systems start automatically faster followed by several rapid ON and OFF when I clock the cpu higher and then start priming.

I already tired to troubleshooting anymore. Already working with this problem for more than a week. Some of the troubleshooting that I have done so far.
> Tested with 2 quad Q6600. One with bad batch with high VID and one is from batch 737B441 with low VID which can clock 4 ghz easily. FSB jumper on mobo are on CPU select. The problem is still there.

Any ideas?
x3210 cpu, 8800gt, 2 gigs of 1066 c ballistix, 700watt gamexstream, tried 4 pin and 8 pin power, reset cmos 10x, with long battery pulls, tried different video card slots, tried 1 stick of ram in all 4 slots, tested all components in other systems and everything works a okay, plugged in extra power via floppy cable.
no idea why it won't boot

I know it normally off and then on after changing some values in BIOS. But mine would restart when start priming with high clock speed and then it OFF and ON rapidly more than 5 time before it start again normally.
This problem even start with a decent 3.4 Ghz with a slight bump on voltage.
I had a bunch of BIOS setting off copied in a notepad from nearly the whole thread. I have tried them all except some with high SB Core/CPU PLL Voltage. But the issues is still there.
I guees I doomed unless anybody can solved this prob. I wish I try this board on air before done with all the loop. It a nightmare redone all the 7/16 tube and 1/2 barb. This sucks......:cussing: :cussing:
You may have a poor board but its not common. It just sounds unstable too me, will it run stock speed ?Quote:

It run stable on stock and up to about 3.3Ghz with 4 hours short prime. More than that it start to do that issues. The problem is it do that issues instantly when I start the prime with higher clock.Quote:

Dont know but I dont think temperature is an issue here. Nb are on mcw30 on second loop. Pwm with small 60mm delta fan with the casing open. I change the original gx700 with noctua nfp12 that spin with full speed. I dont think the heat on psu also causing the issues because it work like a charm with my previous p5k-e with the same quad.
Maybe or probably it a bad contact like you said on the pwm. I already remount all water block several time but it still unsolved. Maybe I diassamble the pc this weekend and test it on box without pro mount backplate. If the issues still there then the mobo is out. Any suggestion about new mobo for q6600 ?
OCZ xtc cooler on this board = NO pcie 16x any more . Maybe I missed their compability list :shrug:

The problem is that i experience some stability issues testing with prime95 blend after 2h or so.
Do u think i need more juice to NB? or is a tRFc setting ? donno..

I think Praz mentioned some testing with 2x2gb sticks a page or two ago on this thread and I'm eagerly awaiting his findings...
I thought I posted screenshots already but maybe not. Here's a shot of G.Skill 2x2GB at 1058MHz. If I get time this evening to finish the Crysis and UT3 benches I'll post up some screenshots of the E8400 at 4.0GHz, G.Skill 2x2GB at 1000MHz. Kind of a comparison to the post I did a few pages back using 2x1GB sticks.
