i just bought 4 ds3's from the egg and all were rev. 2. i haven't tried any oc yet on them, but are definitely different. nice labeling on the board itself, such as front panel jumpers. i'll prob start some oc's monday and tues if ya want to check back hereQuote:

For DS3 F10 bios memory option 2 is significally better for micron D9GCT.Not entering win with option 1 and 8x417mhz and stable 8x420mhz with option 2 cl4-4-4-12 for both.Cold boot not yet discovered with F10.Biosis F8 ,F9 both gave me cold boot problem.F7 no cold boot was previous stable 8x415mhz and e6600.
My ds3 rev2 roasted itself overnight again. This time I think it's dead for good.
I remember waking up to some noise. I'm not sure if it was a bad noise or just the post beep. But regardless, that's all I heard and went back to bed. Then today, I woke up and found the dreaded windows cannot load c:\windows\system\________ message and it halted there. I rebooted to see if it'd change but no dice. I went in bios and dropped pcie from 106 to 100. Note fsb is 400fsb right now. Reboot and it says boot block recovering bios from hard disk and then it reboots again. Then now it's in infinite up down loop restart mode again. I've been clearing bios and pulling ram left and right but it doesn't seem to be responsive at all this time around.
NOOOOO!!!!!!!!! :(

Here's a review of the DQ6 revision 3.3
Although they incorrectly state that one of the differences with the rev. 3.3 and the original DQ6 is that the original had electrolyte capacitors and we all know (except apparently the reviewer) that all revisions of the DQ6 have solid capacitors.

I have a DS3 rev 2.0 that I bought and I plan to put a QX6700 Core 2 Extreme cpu in It, When overclocking It, Can the multiplier be raised across all 4 cores evenly when over clocking? I know that in My P5W this is the case. I'm cursed of course with using PC2-8000 OCZ Gold xtc ram(5-6-6-15-43) and a 750w Thermaltake Toughpower psu, At least the rest of the PC will use as little as possible power consumption wise as possible, For example: NX6200TC, Lite-on DVD, 36Gb raptor, Sound absorbing foam pads and a Vigor Monsoon II TEC cpu cooler(It expels a good deal of heat on the P5W at 3.38GHz(It can heat up a room), CPU is 36C by Speedfan and the Front hardware panel Temperature says 46C right now(Daytime as much as 45-48C depending on the rooms temperature) and the P5W runs 24/7). But then It's not a Game Machine, It's a Seti cruncher and doesn't need a large hdd or a fancy video card. :D
This is weird, my orthos keeps freezing at less than 10 minutes. I'm trying to get a stable 3.5GHz with vcore at 1.45v and MCH at +.3v. What could be the cause of the freeze? Does it look like I need more vcore? It has also frozen a few times while I was gaming.
From my personal experience, freezing is associated with ram instability. Otherwise, Orthos will simply error out and stop. Have you toyed with the southbridge voltages?Quote:

So does anyone here have a revision 2 of the DS3 and still have issues with the board losing it's overclock on a cold bootup?
I've had it a few times, although it's not what really bugs me about the board. On my rev2, a lot of times, when I change my settings around, it'll put the board into a trance and not want to post for a good long time. I could even be doing something as simple as slacking timings from 4-4-4 to 5-5-5 (both of which are stable..) and it'd just die out for hours on me.
p5b-e and p5b vanilla differ by firewire but share same layout? I'm thinking of converting over.

I know here gigabyte have poor technical office and easily change board if it cant boot
I have Gigabyte 965P-DS4 Rev1.0 and I want Destroy it (not physical) to replace it with Rev3.3 :D
