Yeah well a 19k point difference is not something overcome with high clocks either :) so you gotta compare clocks and not scores.

i am specifically replying to your suggestion that it may be volt related and that high bug cards can OC better
Jees... hope my 4870X2 is a good one.
Its at the post office, I just havent had time to go pick it up lol :(
hahah that's actually pretty funny
put an order in online and ask the retailer to put the good one in there :D
I have one card here now and get low and high scores.
This is soooo bizarre. I guess for once I should be counting my lucky stars that I got "fast" cards.
But...what about Tim and Jason who USED to score high and then started scoring low??
Or me, who used to score low and suddenly scored high ;).
Well, you got nothing to be complaining about. :p:
I'm getting similar problems with 9800 gx2--Scores as high as 156k for single card at 850/1170, only it's slightly less obvious that it's bugged in the GT breakdown. For me it seems to happen when there's a display driver failure--for some reason 3dm03 continues to render dispite the fact that the display driver is no longer operating. So for the 156k run the screen was black pretty much the entire time, but 3md03 was still crunching away and somehow turned up with a huge score.
Could these be similar issues?
Yes, that's the infamous "black screen bug" which plagues just about any video card out there in 3DMark03. Then there's this seperate issue which seems to be exclusive to 4870's and 4870X2's.
Oh, ok thanks.
Same card:

:wierd: :wierd: Did they seriously "trade places" going from XP to Vista?!?!
The plot thickens.
FWIW I get a little over 95k at those clocks in XP on Rampage...

8.8 and 8,9 with both i have had high and low same setup.
And I suppose you, like the rest of us, have no idea why. :p:
Not a clue. I do think i get less lows with no OC on card but no stats to prove, and i didnt save all lows either.
It's time we get some DAAMIT engineers together with Futuremark and figure out what the hell is going on here. :D
This one i hate most, didnt even bother to save the one at 6300mhz as it was stil lower then a normal one on 4500mhz:

I hand pick some 4870X2s and found two the high score cards.
I put cpu on LN2 and card on air today. I already match the score with Gautam.

What the :banana::banana::banana: benchmark 2003. We need to hand pick high score cards "ONLY" for 3D03.
So now you see what a "real" score looks like my friend. :)
Yes...this is quite stupid. :S
