What will it do with all 4 cores enabled?
What will it do with all 4 cores enabled?
You mean tests that stress 4 cores ? Didnt try realy hard , just a few runs with wPrime @ 4500MHz (32M and 1024M) , 32M passed 4590MHz (510x9) but i didnt save a screenshot , 3DMark06 @ 4500MHz (500x9) was very easy - ran about 5 times straight trying to get a higher score and all went smouth and not a single crash :D
* 3DMark06 score is a little bit low because of low shader clock @ only 1620MHz *

Praz, if you're referring to Jimmyz, that an E6600 not a quad.

Finally the new mobo seems to be ok.
Changed in RMA:)
First run, I'm testing the ram because with my P5w was impossible to have the pc booting with this mem/freq. also with 5-5-5 and 2.6v:D

Was your previous board running as well as the replacement at one point or was the previous board crap from the get go?
Seems that "Everest" totaly disorganize all sensors correct work for me
CPU-2.24v,12v rail 10.7v,CPU temp 3 C and some other s**t
I had the exact same problem.
I did like the manual said, and set "onboard peripherals" sata to "RAID" Still couldn't see the "ctrl I" option.
Turned out to be a very stupid problem... I had my two raptors in sata 5 and 6 on ICH9. I moved them to sata 1 and 2... and I was then able to see the "Ctrl-I" menu option when booting. Still could not enter the "ctrl-I" option however. Through experimentation... I found that if I used the ctrl on the left side of the keyboard, it would not work. If I used the ctrl on the RIGHT side of the keyboard... it worked fine. Dumbest thing I've ever seen. hehe (my keyboard works fine by the way.)
Good luck.
Turns out that sata ports 5 and 6 are dead on my board.
C'mon DFI. ... this kinda pisses me off.
Doesn't seem like they are having very good luck with these boards. All kinds of nagging little problems.
Dear DFI fans:
I received new BIOS 9/12 from DFI. If you need, pm me your email. I will send to you quickly. This bios will have great performance on FSB 500/DDR2 1200.
Andre
Has anyone tried 4x1gb with this board? I'm seriously considering this board since I don't really care for the extra X38 features and a few months just to get a decent BIOS out.
Hi guys.. I'm new here.. My mobo, which is a DFI P35-T2R urged mo to join this great forum..
Specs:
Intel Q6600 G0 2.4GHz L726A

Samsung DVD writer with lightscribe and SATA interface
Logitech G15 keyboard and G5 mouse
HP w2207 22" LCD
I received the board with the beta 8/10 bios and now flashed it to 8/23
A little bit of History of the board with my experience:
I have owned this board for almost 2 weeks now..
Set Up was straight forward.. and it even booted up on my first try.. I was able to instal Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.. And after setting up (installing drivers, windows updates, utilities etc..) and rebooting, the board suddenly refused to go into windows.. It would load to windows only to the point where you can here the opening sound and then hangs.. BIOS settings were all set to stock except for the memory running at divider 266/1066 and voltage was set to something below 2.3V since the seller of the memory said that it can run at ddr2 1100 at cas 5-4-4-9 at only 2.2V.. After the initial set-up it was highly unstable..tried reinstalling windows but I was unsuccesfull.. it would eventually hang when i tried to do so.. First thing that I've tried to do and what came to my mind is to change my automatic voltage regulator from 500VA to 1KVA . Well, it initial solved my problems and I was able to install Windows Vista again.. and when i got it all set-up AGAIN, I now updated to the latest bios which is 8/23.. Which was far more stable for me than the previous one.. But then again, I get random blue screens and crashes..So I directly plugged my psu to the ac outlet..Well it did temporaririly solved my problems..hehe.. but same problems again afterwards.. By further reading and researching what could have been causing those crashes, I decided to increase the memory's voltage.. a little over at which it was rated.. I got prolonged stability compared to previous experiences but not completely stable.. The memory modules were not bad.. (@ stock, loading Optimized defaults, it was completely stable.. only problem was using the 266/1066 divider at all stock except for increasing voltage for the memory). Finally, the person where I got my memory from suggested that I increase the North bridge core voltage to about 1.5V... and I incresed the Vdimm to 2.42V bios set.. timing all on auto and divider on 266/1066.. I used memtest 3.3 for my testing my rams, and it went for more than 10 passes on test 5 without errors(previously, on lower voltages for the north bridge and Vdimm, i get errors as early as 2nd pass..running all tests, I get errors on test 5). Now that I got thing right and stable, I moved on to overclocking..
Experience with overclocking:
I used RLM's settings and it booted up and was able to do superpi 1M.. sorry guys, since I have a stupid cooler and the weather here is so damn hot, I can't run stability tests because my temps would climb up to 80 degrees celsius..
results with RLM's settings:
thanks RLM..

heres the validation: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=237392
Now, the memory speed is on AUTO setting inside the BIOS.. THE FUNNY THING IS, WHEN I SET THE MEMORY DIVIDER TO ANTYHING THAT WOULD YIELD TO A MUCH LOWER MEMORY SPEED THAN DDR2 1248MHz, IT WON'T BOOT, WHY?
can i say that this is a problem due to the memory divider by the board?.. geez...
Well, that's what got me wondering anyways..
here are some results with only 1M Super Pi:

Max FSB:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...eukph/4952.jpg
I did not disable Core Multiprocessing setting in the BIOS. What could this be?.. What do I need to tweak more guys?..
Prior to this, my max FSB was 460MHz.. anything more will not boot(FSB holes?).. So i decided to jump straight to 490 and it did boot. and then went on to 495..BTW, at 490 the two cores were also disabled..
I hope you guys can help me out on this..Thanks guys! hope to hear from you soon!
P.S. @AndreYang,
I sent you a PM and a message regarding the latest beta bios.. hope to get it soon! thanks master!
BTW, for anyone who was wondering about the transpiper, I installed it after doing testings with the results above. I am using it now and I can say that it drastically lowered the chipset's and PWM's temps.. I am very happy with it.. I did not install the copper plate..
thanks guys!
Thanks for the BIOS Andre,
This board is starting to p*ss me off even more. CMOS, checksum errors, I press ESC to get into boot-menu it goes to the BIOS (sometimes I reboot system 10 to boot from my SCSI array), I press DEL it does nothing (after first successful post after a failed one), I press DEL to many times; it hangs and needs CMOS reset.
It seems that Oskar added another loads of problems:
Ch 1/2 Clock Crossing Setting > More Aggressive > Aggressive > Nominal > Relaxed > More Relaxed
DIMM 1/2/3/4 Clock fine delay
Ch 1/2 Command fine delay
Ch 1/2 Control fine delay
There you go, 225 combinations just for idiotic delays, have fun. Clock fine delay(s) that worked in 8/23 don't work in 9/12. He should seriosuly document what those options do and what effect they have before putting them in, DDR1200 is impossible.
Nothing new in this release, don't expect miracles
Patience my friend my board runs DDR1200 & some on 5.5.5.9 trfc 48 all the rest auto 2.23-2.27v http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=348.
Q: Does anyone know why Hitachi ftool wont see 4 SATA drives in RAID 0 ?
EDIT: Sorted now I just set the drives back to IDE run FTool then changed back to RAID.

Later will come Q6600 G0 with the new bios from Andre, i hope!...
It's hard to fault out-of-the-box performance. This is with just about all settings at default.
