A quickie gallery of some of the mods I've done. Pics link to more pics and info.

Specs:
Commell LE-370CM6 Embedded 3.5" motherboard
600MHz Celeron-M, 0KB Banias
dual 40mm fans, surprisingly quiet
512MB DDR400@266 due to board limitations
40GB Seagate Momentus 5400.2 ATA 2.5" hard drive
Atheros 802.11b/g wireless card with external antenna
Total case size is around 4.5" deep x 3" tall x 6.5" wide. Pulls under 30 watts of power at load, about half that at idle. Power is a simple 60 watt power brick, overkill but it's what I have available. Performance is around the level of a PIII-600 or Via C3/C7 around 1GHz. Power and reset buttons on the back are from the parts box. Casing is made from parts salvaged from one of the breadbox cases below. Built more as an exercize than anything else.

Panasonic 8x DVD+/-RW Slot load slimline drive
generic zillion-n-1 flash card reader
100 watt power brick, board has onboard power circuit with 8-24 volt input
All cooled by a single Yate Loon 120mm fan
About 9" tall, 6.75" wide, and 7" deep. Pulls about 27 watts idle, 55 or so under a load.

The RadPC(above) and RadNAS(below)
http://widefault.com/pmrm/RadNAS2.jpg
Built using surplus 60's Radiation Detection Meters. One has a Pentium-M 1.6GHz on a Commell LE-370, the other an Advantech C3 667MHz board. Both have 512MB RAM and 40GB laptop hard drives. One was built to be a CarPC but has been living on my desk. The other acted as a NAS for a while, but has been out of use.
The radiation meter ones are really neat, extremely creative!
Well finally got the money for my Lian Li , and here is the rough build , next time it will be rearranging the cables.

Very nice and clean looking.
BUT: Let me let you in on a little secret on a "wifey PC"..
RAID1 ALWAYS..With a empty spare tucked into the machine JUST to have it ready!
Hell hath no fury like a woman with a crashed PC and it usually happens when you don't have the time to fix it..
RAID1 and your life is one of bliss!:ROTF:

My A380, soon to have Swiftech water installed in it in a very unorthodox fashion - tubes through the top of the case to a rad on the back! I will repost in a couple weeks after the project is finished...

Sorry for the sideways view:rolleyes:

Welcome to the forum paul and thanks for posting some pics, looking good! Plus I like your plans for it, looking forward to seeing the updated pics once it's under watercooling! Hopefully it will give me some new ideas since your planning an unorthodox setup!
ThatGuy16,
Very nice setup you got there, very clean and tidy! By the way what are those switches on the front panel for, I'm assuming fans? They look pretty good, especially if they actually do something, lol! Did your case come with that color or did you paint it yourself? I ask because it's a rare looking color but looks cool!
Thanks. It come that color (NZXT Apollo orange), and the switches from left to right are.. Cathodes, lcd controller panel (controls cpu fan/exhaust), side fan, and front intake fan.
i also have this panel with a 5.4" lcd screen
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSCF2266.jpg
thats crazy! how did you do the lcd panel interface?
i see you dropped the ccd lighting for the back of the lcd and just used the case lighting
@ThatGuy16: really love that lcd panel on the side...how'd you do that?
oh, it looked like the case background was showing through the other side of the screen, for a sec. as if you used the case's lighting to shine through the lcd instead of the ccd in back of the lcd. umm.. ya
Heres what it looks like with a webpage, i also added the black border you see here. Im still debating if i want to keep it or not, does it look "tacky"?
those were old, these are new.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSCF2378.jpg
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSCF2374.jpg
im still "iffy" whether i like it :(
i kinda don't see the difference. but i'd like to have one of those tho :(
They are cheap... on ebay of course lol :p:
its cool. i'd sell it, to me of course ;-)
id like to mount one like that on the front of my case for cpu/fan info, and maybe network activity..... but i have 4 lcd's planned on my pc already. 3- 19" lcd's running through a matrox triple head 2 go on output 1, and a 32" lcd HDTV on output 2. i guess i could get a pci card for such a small screen.
I didn't even see the LCD at first, that is pretty awesome and I'm not usually into that kind of stuff. By the way, did you do all the LCD modding yourself or did you buy the case that way? Also if it didn't come with the case did you buy the LCD pre-modded and ready to mount. Last but not least since the LCD came from a playstation what hardware/software is used to interface it with your PC? Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions because I'm probably not the only one curious!
All i done was rip it from the original housing and snip the speakers, and mounted... other than that it was just plug and play it seems you have to do some modding with the ps1 screens
pshh :p:
If i ever was to get get a bigger case like a lian li or something i would be able to mount it in the bays.. be kewl
NICE.
I have similar case from NZXT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146027
But I donthave the LCD in front. Is that a mod??
Overall pretty nicely put.
its this
NZXT Sentry
if you get it, you need yo use screws to tighten it down, its pretty neat, you can control 3 fans but with the option of 3 speeds
Guys, this....is my work place:

@Malk4vi4n: i love those mems! Great job modding your Big Typhoon, it looks so much like a Zalman NT!:p:

@Malk4vi4n: Why no rear case fan?
my finally finished new case, and new components in it, thank god:)
the uv paint on the fans and NB cooler, heatpipe is gone cos it looks like crap on daylight (u can see it in pic with flash...)

My daily usage rig. Not the most expensive hardware but it does its job fine.
specs on it ^^?
I like what you did with the HDD, would be cool to see a Raptor X sitting there.
Well observed, in fact we are still waiting for some fans to arrive so we can finish the machine. It's hard to find good fans in Brasil. . .:(
But anyway, there is no NEED for fans...did u see the size of those side and front fans? There was air coming out at every single hole in the case and the temps were excellent, like 2-5 degrees lower than outside the case.
im pretty new to the whole game. This is my very first build

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2135/1000385ka2.jpg
Nice job for your first build, but why no side panel?
I see you have the gigantic Accelero cooler, how is it? I could see two 120MM fans strapped to it to improve cooling.
Malk4vi4n,
First of all beautiful setup man, very nicely done! With that said you should update your system specs unless those two 8800GTX cards are actuallly 6800 vanilla, and those OCZ RAMs are actually only 2GB of Kingston RAM, lol!
Hey all, i got the desk from a place called "Jysk" its similiar to IKEA for 50 Canadian dollars, it even came with a case shelf that mounted along the bottom side of the desk. There was no side on the case just for picture purposes. Today i pickedup an Antec P182 case that i have just taken out of the box and started to transfer parts onto!:D

I've noticed you like to fry your components with static.
Are you insane lumb3Rj4ck? NEVER put hardware on a carpet. If you want it stop working you could just hit it with a hammer.
Like nzbleach already noted, static electricity will kill hardware. Always keep it in an anti-static bag. If you want to take it out to put it on diplay, put it on top of the anti-static bag.
I have to echo the last two comments, especially on that carpet, hope everything still works Lumb3Rj4ck.
Anywho, heres my rig.

I was just waiting for the comments about static electricity! My house is only 2 years old and completely fitted with staticless carpet. The two years i have lived here i have not wrecked one component on the carpet. I knew you guys were going to give me a hard time about that one and i apreciate your concerns. Im going to take that picture down because i know there will be more comments on that
My computer is currently running 100%
My rig...
What do you guys think?
Hi,
thanks
About the case, the Eureka is one of the best case i've ever seen.
The only con i can tell about is the Thinness of the shield.
But except for that, the Eureka is a great case.
By case shield I mean the basic shield (Side doors (Not the front door, which unlike the rest of the case. the front door is a Massive part), Roof, Floor)
Anytime;)
Nice Rigs Everyone!!!
Incidentally, Moe that French anchorwoman in your avatar is one of the hottest women on the planet...
I would have used black zip ties!! LOL!
Do you have two fans on the front of your CPU cooler immortality?
Yes:p:
Nice case.
Like my previous case:cool:
very n1 too

I am looking to get a new VGA soon
nice cooler
Nice rig Lumberjack, what kind of temps are you seeing @ load with that cooler?
