I've updated the BIOS to the latest MOD BIOS 1002. No more 1T difference with 50ps skew difference. :confused:
Oh well... I know now that it's possible to flash the BIOS from NTFS. Thanks SoLoR. :up:
Edit: I was wrong as it seems that you've got to delay Channel A with 50ps and keep Channel B on Normal.
Forget my last Overclock Profile if you update to the latest MOD BIOS 1002. It makes them obsolete. I can't stay 5 minutes stable anymore in Prime95. :rofl:

The latest ones aren't good for the high clocks but I think that they are good for the lower clocks and should probably let you run stable with less NB Voltage. For the first time I was able to run Prime95 at 9 X 450MHz with NB Voltage 1.23V. Not stable but a little longer.
I don't know but maybe it's a good idea to give each BIOS update a different BIOS revision number because the latest isn't always better.
It does if its on FAT file system... i tryed on USB key formated with FAT16 and FAT32 and in both cases it only shows 8 chars... if name is longer it shows first 6 chars + ~1... NTFS does not have this issue. About chaging revision number, well ill think about it. I mostly dont want to change revision numbers in bios because your need to change 5+ different modules and its kinda lots of work (read: instead of 1 min of changing OROM module, you get 20-30min of changing things in different modules). But i guess i might just change filename revision number next time, but bios will still reflect 1002.
Not meaning to gate crash your thread again guys, but SoLoR which Intel Board did you extract the 10.1.0.1008 Option ROM from?
I can only find 10.0.0.1046 :( (DX58SO)
Also how do you get your EZ-Flash to read from NTFS? I can only flash my BIOSes from the USB key :(

Have ASUS contacted you at all recently?
I have been trying to request that they fix the CPU VID Ratio error on QX9000 series processors on the ASUS Rampage Extreme (because they fixed it on the P5E3/P5E3 Pro), yet they did not respond to my e-mail :(
Does the Rampage Formula have the same issue?

I don't know if the ASUS Rampage Formula BIOS has that error. I asked that question some time a go but no answer from anyone. I didn't have any contact with the ASUS Tech support since the beginning of this year but I did ask Bingo13 a simple question in a PM and didn't receive an answer back. :rolleyes:

After a lot of fiddling around in the BIOS and numerous Clr CMOS and Load Setup Defaults, I've got it running at 4.22GHz and DDR 1250MHz with the latest MOD BIOS and my old Overclock Profile. :up:
Someone posted new intel orom on some other forum, where i also got new ezflash versions (mydigitallife forum). However there is big chance that most of new EZFlashes wont work with your mobo, its simple trial and error until one does and hope you get new functions :)

I am now using EZ-Flash 3.36 and can read from the HDD partitions.
(Previous revision which was included in BIOS 002 was 3.25)
Now, if only there was a way to fix the VID ratio issue by taking the fix from the P5E3 Pro and incorporating it into the Rampage Extreme/Formula/Any other ASUS X38/X48 BIOS....

I stopped trying to get it stable at 4.22Ghz and DDR 1250MHz with the latest MOD BIOS 1002. It was running Prime95 stable for more than an hour and a half before it started to fail and triggered a SYTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x...3B BSOD. :mad:
So now I'm testing my 24/7 Overclock and just like I thought it runs a lot better with CPU Clock Skew 300ps and NB Clock Skew 200ps. This is good for low voltage but the downside is that it doesn't clock much higher with these skews.
It is surprising just how much of a difference those skews have, particularly when doing 8GB stability.
For me 300ps CPU clock skew is the sweet spot. Any less and I get failing in PRIME 95 Small FFT's and failing in Maximum free system memory Linx.
Anymore than 300ps and I get a strange and bizarre issue where the CPU runs in "crippled mode". E.g. my GFlops drop from ~50Gflops down to 30Glops.
Likewise my Everest benches run lower for CPU Queen . (down from 303xx to 201xx) This is for a QX9650 @ 3.6Ghz on a Rampage Extreme. I thought I would mention Skew as it may happen for you too on the Rampage Formulae
NB Skew I am running at 300ps too, as 200ps requires slightly more voltage on the NB.
Have you played with DRAM Skew? and NB Strap?
I found that the 200strap on the RE enabled me to get 8GB @ 1600Mhz

You always said that you could never have anything stable with CPU Clock Skew 200ps and NB Clock Skew 100ps. With the latest MOD BIOS 1002 I'm doing fine with CPU Clock Skew 300ps and NB Clock Skew 200ps so why don't you try this one with CPU Clock Skew 200ps and NB Clock Skew 100ps.
While you try that see if it makes any difference to use DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A Normal and DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B Advance 50ps. ;)
Let's see if you are as lucky as me and can get it stable running for a while with DDR 1250MHz. :D If you run Prime95 use custom and take 3200Mb memory.
If you want to try CPU Clock Skew 300ps and NB Clock Skew 200ps than you should also try with DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A Delay 50ps and DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B Normal.

I've already retired my Asus P5E x38@Rampage Formula for good (it is runing E5200 now).
GB-EP45UD3P is great and my best LinX accomplishment is 8 succesfull passes at 4.6GHz.
