Sniipe has his gpu's setup in a parallel configuration. Water travels into both blocks simultaneously and goes out of both blocks simultaneously. There are some potential drawbacks but I'm sure a seasoned water cooler like Sniipe knows how to overcome them. Parallel gpu loops have been done for a long time now and work just fine, in fact my next setup will be parallel.

How is the water coming in simultaneously? I only see one inlet and only one outlet.

Yes there is one inlet that feeds both cards simultaneously.

Hopefully this makes it clear. The blue line represents cooled water coming into the blocks. EACH block fills with water, circulates though the block (represented by the Yellow line) and then water from both cards exit (represented by the Red line). Kapeesh? :p:

To further expand on DP's pic and explanation, the instant the water hits the BP plug, there is enough restriction in the loop to force the water into the first card, flow balances out from there.

That's what I was assuming, but the first split ( some of the water goes to the first gpu, some of the water goes down the sli tubing) is not going to be a 50/50 split.

Like Waterlogged said, as soon as the system balances water will uniformly flow through both blocks.

Why not? Each card has equal resistance. Once the SLI connection is under pressure because of the restrictions on the lower card then the pressure will look for a new path. So long as he has enough pressure coming from the pump each card should see equal flow.

What would be the drawbacks of a setup like this? I could see pressure loss after the cards being a problem.. or even not having enough pressure before the cards causing low flow through one or both cards. If they are on a dedicated pump and the pump hits the cards first in the loop then would there be any issue?

Parallel set up seems to freak about 75% of XS out :)
A closed water loop behaves pretty much as en electric one. Think of the blocks as resistors, the pump as the battery and the current as flow, if that makes any sense to anyone. For you that are not familiar with electrical circuitry or fluid dynamics, you will just have to trust that it works because it does. As the path of least resistance is about equal flow through both GPU blocks.

due to a delay on the part of thermochill (pa140.3 is taking longer than expected) I could not receive the rad in time for the mod contest so I reached out to Hank and he helped me out by offering to sponsor me with the HWlabs GTX 420 radiator!

I painted the inside of fan motor hub and the undersides of the blades blue and the bracket around the edge blue as well. I cannibalized the cool large head fan screws from a dead coolermaster PSU at work and repainted them black cuz they were kinda beat up ;)

since I can't post on XS here is a pic of the redesign of the custom lamptron fan controller - I had to change it because the last design had manufacturing feasibility issues :)

hehe, thanyou charles - I really really want to make my own CNC router after seeing the one this shop had, the router when programmed correctly can make very small cuts and provides a clean polished finish while being much more economical than other types of cutting - that darned top panel cut from the laser cost me $210 :doh:
