Thanks Lardarse, the NB is still on air. I will try these settings and give it a go later. Will keep you updated..
Thanks again.

Τhanks very much guys.I will try it
Pederrs and vagos, what happens if you disable oc recovery?
could you post a detailled list of your hardware?
i suspect the oc recovery keps kicking in cause the board doesnt power up properly, which could be related to the psu.
oh, you mean the right wing, ok :D
i think the vcore on the left is always set that way...
did you go ahead and meassure the vcore with a dmm?
shashin, use the settings peter recommended, but 1.9v, our memory is based on micron D9JNL chips, they usually dont like voltages above 2v.
300 points less than what?
hmmm sory, i must have confused you with GTFouts who is running 4x2gb ocz... my bad.
Jep we have exactly same problem :(
Thank you! I will try that.
Yes i have also tried on air... same problem...
I will try to disable it when i get home. Full hardware list:
QX9650
Asus GTX 280
2GB Cell Shock PC14400
Enermax Infiniti 720W
Raptor 150GB
I could try with a Tagan 530W.
i dont think you have a bad board, the bios just needs some tuning for better auto timings... but since all the options are available you can have a go at it manually as well.
not that many people run 2gb sticks, so thats why the bios isnt optimized for it yet i suppose.
its time to do it though, and ill get at it as soon as im done with the things im working on currently.
i will go on a business trip for a week starting tomorrow, so i cant do any testing... but ill try to come online and post here as much as i can.
so 1333 666 gave you 300 points more than 1600 888?
that makes sense... your mem is rated to 1600 cas7 tho, isnt it?
did you play with the dll settings and clock skew setting at all?
i think thats what holds your mem back from running any higher, once thats adjusted you should be able to run 1600 cas7, maybe even 765 depending on what chips ocz is using.
No running the memory at 1066, I gain better 3DMark results. How does this make sense? Thats running the memory slower than what the memory can do at default. I cant seem to get the memory to run at 1333 at all. 1600 works for a limited time into windows before a crash. So 1066 was better at 3DMark than 1600.
Also, I dont see why my 3Dmark scores are so low compared to the Asus Striker II. I was getting 14k @ 3GHz and 1600Mhz memory on the Asus, but I'm getting 12.500 on this board with 1600MHz memory and 3.6GHz CPU speed.
You got any compare links for 06 scores?
Free version of 06 is fine. Just submit the score to the online result browser. You'll have to make an account but it's free.
Edit- never mind. Looking at your system, I don't believe you could have ever scored 14k in 06, unless you had ridiculously high GPU clocks. There's no 06 score on the planet that I can find that's anywhere nearly that high with an 8800GTX. Link. Note how all systems there are well past 3.5GHz and have agressively overclocked video cards.
Are you sure that you got that kind of a score with the Striker? Chances are it was run at a lower resolution (sometimes on certain monitors it runs at 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024 without giving you and indication that it's doing so) or you're misremembering your score. Any chance you actually ran 3DMark05 and not 3DMark06?
Vagos, i think i have solved the problem now. As ceevee said i tried another PSU and now the board is runing as it should :D
Again thank you ceevee ;)
If i disabled oc recovery with my Infinity 720W i still got the same problem so that was not the problem.
For anyone interested, MemoryC.com has the CellShock 1866 RAM on special for $368. It is a website based in Ireland, so you will be charged the equivalent in EUR; your total with shipping should be around $400 if you select next day FedEx shipping.
have you adjusted your command dll's?
How is this board maturing, is it getting more stable and is the bios getting better.
I have been waiting on a build till it kinda settles down...
hope this isn't a noob question but I have high hopes for this board.
regards
steve
Have tried command dll at auto and also at -2..still getting in Vista no problems BUT the moment i run 3DMark 06...after a few minutes i get BSOD..!!
I have also tried Ctrl dll and clock dll setting ranging from
-3 to +3 each....still no go..
any other suggestions people....saaya, Lardarse, Telo?
I have also left all other memory timings at auto and have also adjusted settings according to
http://www.benchtec.co.uk/forums/sho...?t=1423&page=8
still no luck
Regards
Take it from a non-believer turned into supporter... the board IS maturing with every BIOS release and it keeps allowing people to do more and more in terms of overclocking. I used to just be able to run at 333FSB with the RAM down clocked to 1066Mhz with CAS7. Now with the help of better RAM, a different CPU, and latest BIOS, I'm able to run an E8500 at 9 x 475 on 1.30v with the RAM set to 1900Mhz @ 8-8-8-16-1T-L7 on 1.84v.
has anyone plans to attend the Coventry event on Aug 8~11
any details of venue and times and if it is a public or private event and if tickets are required
