Just a quick update, new clocks on my modded 8800GT:
Core: 918
Shader: 2268
Memory: 1900 (using Qimonda 1.4ns timings)
The card is an incredible little beast, love it.
3DMark06 score with E6600@3733mhz: 14702
3DMark05 score with E6600@3733mhz: 22720
Loaded temps are 37C at 1.363v
Man I wish I had a quad core right now....
Can we get individual scores for the 06 mark?
Shader looks ridiculous...
Is that ATiTool and Crysis stable?
***Oh! And if possible you can be awesome and post a Crysis benchmark run at 1600x1200 (or 1680x1050) all settings high? :D :D :D
at 713/1728/945 and your Crysis stable clocks?
I will have my E6600 3.35Ghz running with my modded GT after two school projects are finishes this weekend. School keeps putting my mod off :(
SM2.0: 7019
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6642
CPU Score: 3235
Will do more testing tomorrow, getting late.
i got 3 questions,
1. does the ovp mod really work or not?
2. instead of using pencil on the ovp resistor, can i just remove that resistor and make a connection with some solder? (aka no ovp?)
3. i need alternative soldering points for the VGPU mod, do you know any?
thanks a bunch
Nice and the dedault 8800 GT boards use 1.05v for the gpu ? so this one is like 0.1v higher ?
My GT wont clock very well. Mem is totally crappy. @ 1000 MHz it wil go artifacting. So i left it on stock. I might try the v-mod and use a better dual slot aircooler until G100 and R700 come out.
BTW my GPU gets 80C @ load with fan on 100%. Settings where 700-1800-2000. But memory will go artifacting in games.
And is the memory bandwith not limiting your gpu ? I love the insane high clocks tho :)
Got my card turning up tomorrow. Gonna get it volt modded and cooled under the Maze4 straight away!
Just wondering what tool is best to use with Vista 32bit for overclocking to find the limits before doing a bios mod? I've got Ntune but that doesn't allow independent shader overclocking. Whats everyone using?
RivaTuner.
sorry, i've read this thread and a lot of image i saw. which is the best vgpu mod and vmem mod for this card? the image in the first post?
link to forum post please :)
Dammit. I ordered & paid a bunch of Zotac AMP edition cards on 13th of Nov and still no freakin ETA...
8800GT should've been branded as 8800MIA.
Oh and btw, minor update to the 1st post (tweaked mod guide pic).
so can i pencil the OVP resistor and do a bios mod for 1.2-1.3????
thx for the tweaked pic! i can see better!
as stated by largon, he said that it's perfectly safe to adjust the vr while to comp is on. just go slowly to avoid voltage spikes.
Got my card today, modded it and have been playing with it all evening! Thought I'd post my initial results.
Card is an Inno3d standard clockspeed version.
vGPU - 1.34 (any higher doesn't help clocks and causes black screen after 1 or 2 minutes load).
Core clock - 842mhz
Shader clock - 2104mhz
memory - 1000mhz
Quite happy with that!
That was on water with a maze 4 block.
Load temps 39 - 40
Crysis and 3dmark06 results to follow tonight!
Have you tried a fan blowing on the vMem chip on the backside of the card? Hopefully it'll boost stable voltage :)

3dmark06 9765 (guess that'll be my CPU holding things back)
Crysis average FPS 1920 x 1200 (high settings)
DX10 - 12.9
DX9 - 26.9
Im running vista 32bit by the way.
I do have a 120mm fan & blowhole in the side of my case that I cut to cool graphics cards, made no difference to the mem overclock at all though. actually had to drop my mem clock to 970 to get things 100% stable.
Final stable clocks are: 842 core, 2104 Shader, 970 mem @ 1.34 volts
Just wanted to say thanks for the vmods, folks. Currently 730/1728/950 Crysis-stable (Asus 8800GT), will see what the vmod can do for things.
This is my result
1.38 Volt:

Did the mod on my 8800gt 256mb :)
Card + vmod: (sorry for bad pic)
