this is my first try.... will make more tweaking since this is my first time playing with phenom 2....
yah LN2, where have you been LOL, broke multiple Wr's but posted in the XOC section, was afraid if I posted in amd section tar, feathers pitchforks, bonfires and hanging rope would come out......

been out on a lake all week and only once in a wile I would get wireless reception on my lappy so just now getting cought up on things. Grats on that tho
New suicide for me:
Cold air, 3.85 GHz (203x19), 1x2GB RAM
First WC with new to me 940BE.
Pretty much everything is default settings except for memory 2.05 and volts to 1.45v.
I have to learn to cram all the screens close together so I can crop better to get the thumbnail size within limits :yepp:
This guy can got much more, I am sure, considering I just went straight to this OC.
I wonder if the list will ever be updated...
If you have a legitimate clock that meets the qualifications, send a PM to "particle" with the message number, he'll update the list for you...
That being said... Heres my best CineBench run, I'm not saying it's worthy of the list, but CineBench is one of the hardest to get stable and this is a pretty good score! :D

Ok this is my first attempt at overclocking this system since I got it. The system is listed in my sigtag.
System Cooling: stock
CPU cooling: push/pull air.
FSB Freq: 272
Dram Freq: 1440
CPU/NB Freq: 2700

I did not touch the memory at all.
Just to preface all of this. I am a very new overclocker, and this is my first real attempt at this. So any advice would be gratefully accepted.
Well I just got done with OCCT and during the process, the CPU temp increased to 51c. I probably get that lower, but it is a pain to remove the case from the cabinet.
Here is mine (CPU NB @ 1.25v)-->>

nope havent tried lowering the NB lol ill have to try that
im sure this has been asked before but, what is the highest 24/7 voltage recommended for the PII 940BE?
also running my nb lower than 2600 dosent help my clock speed what am i missing guys?

my NB is 2600mhz, my HT is 2000, and my ram is 1066 corsair dominator, i turned off the "secure virtual machine" , C&Q, i tried the ACC on and off didnt help. i have water cooling triple 120 with an EK block. temps run about 110F full load.
amd themselves specified 1.55v as the max for high end aircooling if i recall rightly.
<1.5v should be fine anyway - ive not seen many amd cores killed with volts, a few imc's by excessive ram volts but thats usually been fixed in later revisions (eg original clawhammer cores)
Do you really need 8Gb (I assume that's 4x2GB)? I can get to 3600 stable @ 1.46v with 4GB and can boot Windows at up to 3800 @ 1.5v - try with 2 sticks and see if that helps OC
2 sticks vs 4 sticks doesn't make much difference the only way i an get into windows at 3.6 is at 1.5875v per the bios i dont have a dmm to test that that actually is but it isnt stable after about 10min it BSOD .
thanks for the help guys right now im workin the bus up 1mhz at a time

2048MB x2 G.SKILL (F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI) DDR2-1100 @ 5-5-5-15, the same RAM in my sig. It's much harder to OC with all four DIMM slots populated but I have heard it is possible with overvoltage on the CPU NB. Maybe someone here has expertise on that.

No i think the AM3 boards have still trouble to get high RAM frequencies, maybe in a few weeks with newer bioses :D
I also have trouble getting a high NB clock when having high HTT Base freqs..

guys, I ran x3 720BE 0906,but i cant get over 2200mhz NB freq.. but I cant raise it over 2200mhz, and I assume bios is the wall.
what is the best BIOS for DFI 790FXB-M2RSH? and what BIOS should I use to unlock the 4th core?
thx for reply guys..;)
Just a fast question:
Which would be the best motherboard right now, to overclock a 940BE ?
I would like to have your real-life opinion :)
HastaSSSSS
I have tested Dfi 790FXB Dark and Asus M4A79 Deluxe...of them the Asus wins becuse of stronger pwc + it got firewire connection. Only - on the Asus board is that it have some vdroop but it still clocks higher than the dfi board becuse it can handle more vcore.

Can't get better with air without upping voltage, and i keep 1.55v max for my chip cause temps are getting too high with these 27degrees ambient temps. 955 and 4830CF.
It seems that only I don't have luck with my phenoms. Currently I'm running a 550 0919 EPMW 3875 @ 2 cores or 3750 @ 4 cores but not very stable. Ive found a phenom 810 0904 APAW, but I'm not sure if it is a good one, I can't find any review or post about clocking 810. Can you give me any advice?

I was going to post my max OC, which was 3.939ghz on a 720 BE (of course not stable), but I can't find my screenshot.
But it doesn't really matter too much, because today I'm getting my Core Contact...no more stock HSF for me! :D
So I will throw something up later.

With this MB i have a very big problems with MSI 790FX-GD70 I expect 4,2Ghz full stable. ;)
Hello!
I have something here.
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=634197
feniksgod: very nice stable clock 3.95MHz! Whau.
My CPU seriously seems to suck on the CPU department :P I can reach max stable at 1.5v 3700mhz , decrease the voltage below the magic 1.5v mark and it's unstability when I stress it, same goes for upping the MHz by one node (HT ref.)
But my NB has no issues running 2800mhz @ 1.4375v and has passed stability testings so perhaps I have a good IMC  Should I try pushing my RAM abovee 1333mhz 6-6-6-18-24-1T?
Have seen a few guys reaching higher clocks @ lower voltage HT ref. clocking instead of multi clocking so will try that approach after work
Well 3.7Ghz seems to be a stable and achievable OC for most 720be owners on air. So dont worry about that. Have you managed to unlock the cores yet. I am at 3.5Ghz on the 720BE with 4th core and around 3.7 with the core locked. My only issue is I am unable to get the CPU NB to run at anything higher than 2.4 as the multi is playing up.
By browsing the results in this thread it becomes obvious the 720's do not oc as well as the 955's for example.
For some strange reason some of the dual core phenoms do better than the tripple cores, even with 4 cores enabled.
Getting 2.8GHz out of the NB is nice but 1.43V is quite a lot to achieve that, don't forget you are adding a lot of heat to the cou temp by raising Vnb.
Mine runs 2.8GHz with 1.32V fully stable and is able to do Spi1M at 3050MHz with 1.38V, adding more volts didn't do much really.
Looks like it's safe to say the 955BE overclocks better than the 720BE in both cpu and NB and better than the 940BE.
I can't wait to see what the 965BE will do.
Thanks, but issue is with the current bios that I am using(in my sig). So I turn it to FSB 250, multi on cpu to 14, now the NB will clock to 2500. But if i up it with the multi, it wont boot.
Thanks to my new Koolance WC setup, I have been able to get better results. Not stable, will tweak some more this weekend.

Just a small question..Quote:
My 720 does the same thing @1.1volts with NB going to 2400max.. Thus when i raise nbvid or NBvolts to 1.3v i can easily get 2600+nb
So far I can reach 3434Mhz @1.475v prime blend 8hs, linkpack 10 rounds stable. My NB stays at 2020Mhz @ +0.25v in CPU-NB.
In order to raise NB freq, should I raise CPU-NB -AND- NB voltage in bios or only CPU-NB?
Look to increase cpu nb...
Not 100% sure - I have to test a bit more - but nothing seems to happen raising NB multi and adding CPU-NB +0.1/+0,2v. Is not my prime priority to OC the NB, I´m only seeking to gain CPU stability at 3.5Ghz. I wonder if there are many people at 3.5 / 3.6 Ghz with NB at stock speeds... or is absolutely necesary to OC the NB to arrive to that level
No, you can oc the cores regardless of what speed you run the NB at. Ocing the NB gives a nice boost though.
Many people are saying the same. But if I up the NB speed to 2200 or 2400, even adding voltage to CPU-NB +0.075, 0,1 or even 0,225v , my system fails blend @3.5 ghz in a minute or less...weird thing. It seems it likes default 2000MhzQuote:
