Man , this ds4 drives me crazy! Whatever i did (tried all multis , changed all type of voltages, tested ALL shorts of bios ,upping pci-e freq, swaped memory slots) i can't go over 425 fsb.I am stable at 425x8 but 430 is a no go, tested with easytune and setfsb.Bios won't let me boot above 420.Tested my memory with 4:5 divider (2.50 bios) at 400fsb (1000mhz memory) and is perfectly stable. So what's holding me back? Is possible that my 6400 stops at 428 even with 6x multi? Is my ds4 a  ? I suspect my psu
too.I don't like its rails.
maybe, maybe not, my first 6300 wouldn't go past 404fsb no matter what. Swiched out the cpu to a diffirent 6300 and it will post at 532fsb. Go figure. Some chips are just fsb limited, its kinda the luck of the draw..Quote:

would like to see F9 for DQ6 with enhanced FSB frequency flexibility too :/
^^ yeah same ;)
S3 and DS3 too...Quote:

But, your Vcore seems high, or is this the absolute minimum you needed to stay at 3.2.
I'm using a Vcore of 1.36875 and mine is stable. Just thought you'd like to see what others have got or are doing. I have the DS3 rev. 1.0.
Mark
P.S. I'm also curious about your core temps; mine are 49-52 with no load, and 56-59 load. If I use TAT and 100% useage, they get up to 60-61c (Zalman 9700 AT).
1.35V in bios for my E6600 to run at 400x8 stable.Quote:

im running B2 E6600 400x8 at default vid (1,2375V) load @ 1,20V, too bad it gets frigging hot at 400x9 1,4v. difference is 20C in orthos load compared to 3.2ghz, too much for my taste for 10% more performanceQuote:

S3 F7 = DS3 F9
Also, I think that if you remove the sticker on the rev2 ds3 that says "ds3" it'll actually say s3. Maybe I'll peel it
Mine IS a newer E6600; L632A734 / pack date 11/28/06Quote:

What do others use for voltage (mch, etc.)
AND, per above, I don't think the "default vid (1,2375V)" mentioned is the default voltage for the E6600; I believe it's 1.325!
check it out. Just removed the sticker off my rev2 ds3. guess i was wrong. not s3 but ds3-e??
What the H@ll is a DS3-E?
I tested several times with all the possible combinations of voltages but maxed or not , 425+ is a dream for me.The only voltage i can't push to max is mch.Bios won't boot above +0.60 .But what's the point of pushing it , i don't need above +0.10 for 425 anyway.I noticed that if i push vfsb and vmch above +0.20 , some games become unstable.Quote:

have you tried using the auto voltage setting and seeing where you can go
c2ds have dfferent default vcores, most common is 1.325 ofc but some "B" chips have lower default vid like 1.2375, 1.25, 1.2625, 1.275 etc. its about luck i guessQuote:

How/where do I find the core rating??
I did go into Sandra and there is core voltage rating of 1.212?????
Is this the rating? Or is it on the box; mine just says max 1.35 on the box.
If my rating is 1.2.1, then 1.36 is too high maybe, and I should do more testing now?
Hamid - Thankyou for the link to the F8 DS4 BIOS. I have downloaded it and following testing i think its the best DS4 BIOS yet.
IT has improved my stable overclock a little (to 440x8) (E6600) and has reduced the amount of voltage on the chipset i need to run 420x8 24/7. Seems to be the most stable of all BIOSes ive tried, definitley the best for me since F5C.
My complements to Gigabyte - keep the BIOSes coming!
Basically atm I can't really be asked to be overclocking accurately until my watercooling stuff is sorted out (since i need help on building it cos im a noob and leaked everywhere last weekend when i tried lol) then I'll start seriously overclocking. Core temps are 52-56oC with no load and around 69-72oC load perhaps a bit more. This is all sitting inside a TJ07-B being aircooled with an arctic cooler freezer 7 pro. I am sitting on 1.51875 or soemthing like that currently because I have only got 2 case fans and so it gets quite hot (ala the above temps)Quote:
