Can you guys verify that this is the WR for Socket 754? If so, I'm about 80MHz shy of it right now with the Newark. :D

sweet! what phase u using conrad?
i'm not 100%, but fairly certain that it is. i take it that means you've hit 3.32? :woot: :toast:Quote:

I'm using my custom chilly1 units. During my first hour on phase last night, I was able to do this. I can complete SuperPI 1M at 3307.50MHz (11x300.68MHz). When I get back home from running errands, I'll disassemble everything and remount the chip. I don't think I'm getting very good contact between the CPU and evap block.
I didn't have much time to play last night, but it's lookin' good so far. :rocker:
most impressive. i'm glad to see that some cold temps do this chip good :DQuote:

Well, maybe not that easily. I'm jealous, conrad. Owning a chilly1 phase unit must be awesome. :slobber:
Hi, new here. Regular at OCF. I've got a 3400+ NW arriving today from Shentech. I'll let you know how it goes.
awesome, welcome to XS man, that makes two of you guys with 3400+'s :D :toast:
Awesome, another 3400er :D This is killing me not having my board back. What is a good voltage to start out at? I know... a n00b question... but I want to do this right. :) Anyway, please LMK what you think... the board should be here this week. :woot:
-Ben
i would push it as far as possible on stock volts untill windows starts to restart, then up the vcore 0.025 and try again, repeating the process untill you get up to around 1.7vcore (on good watercooling).
From what i seen, massive vcore wont help you on these new cores.
i don't see much benefit of going past 1.6v or so.. even then... yeah. 1.45v gets me 2.76ghz stable. 1.55v gets me 2.85ghz stable, but i can't quite seem to get over 2.9ghz, and i don't feel comforable running >1.6v 24/7 :slapass:
also, past 1.5v, the temps go up real quick :stick:
well ive had all my components for about 2 weeks now and i finally got tired and instaled all the stuffs into my case, and today i got the good news that vandi was shipping my 3700 so ill be in the race in a few days.
Question here is this
I have this 3700 steppings
amn3700bkx5bu 1236225d50132 cabhe 0514wpmh anyone with close to these steppings?
If so how they clock? ima be on air on a 90c and tornado 92mm
in coolermaster tsunami dream case so airflow should be pretty good im hoping.
Just wanna know what to look for. Ima run is at stock for a while to let it semi burn in then ima throw some volts at it and see how it shines up :P
Im so happy its finally on the way, i actually ordered one from vandi long long ago, but pay pal screwed me royally, sooooo...... :slapass:
seeing as there's like.. 3 guys with oc'ing results of these things so far, i can't say how it'll oc. hope for 2.8-2.9ghz? :)
My computer... :frag: ... me
My DFI came back today, and guess what... it doesn't work! I can't believe this. I went through and tried swapping all the components again. It's the motherboard?! I just don't understand how that can be possible. Surely DFI tests repaired boards before they send them back... right?
Anyways, I'm sick of :banana::banana::banana:ing around with this RMA bull:banana::banana::banana::banana:. Should have a new board on the way soon. Hopefully, I'll be up and running by next week.
I got that same stepping last week from Vandi, matter of fact it's 1236225d50131 (can't get much closer than that :p: )....haven't had much time to really mess with it yet (work), but I did let it prime for 11 hours yesterday @ 2720mhz 1.44v so I'd say 2.8 or 2.9 is doable :DQuote:

new-b, that seems pretty similar to my cpu. i get ~2.75-2.78ghz with 1.45v, though it tops out pretty hardcore past 2.8ghz. i think making 2.9ghz stable would need 1.65v or so.
With watercooling, if you can get 2.9GHz @ anything lower than 1.6 vcore, you have a great chip... like mine and ozzi's. :p:
... although, outside ambient temps are now reaching 90F here, so even with A/C my CPU temps are starting to creep up... :explode2:
EDIT: boy I can't spell...
Yeah, I've tried swapping CPUs, RAM, power supply, HDD, etc.Quote:

did some testing, 1.55 +4% (1.61v) tops out at 2.89ghz :stick: :p:Quote:

that was on water. highest i tested for stability was 1.57-1.58v topped out at 2.85ghz on air. (i couldn't get it stable any higher, more voltage just brought the temps up too much and was unstable)Quote:

it's CABSE 0515DPMW
Well, my initial results with the 3400+ aren't very good. Barely above my Mobile Claw. 2640 at 1.54v stable, 36°C load on air. I can get into Windows (x64) at over 2.9GHz, but not remotely stable (tried up to 1.65v). Changing memory (Mushkin Lv2, Mushkin Blue UTT, OCZ Gold BH), timings, dividers - hasn't helped. I'll keep trying, maybe I'm missing something. I wonder if these Newarks are binned tightly (or if I'm just doing something wrong). Any other 3400+ results yet?
CABHE 0512 XPCW
Ouch! I know someone with a 3700+ CABHE 0514WPMW that got 2.64GHz at 1.392v. 23hrs Prime stable on air.
sounds like mine. 1.425v (1.41 actual) gets me just over 2.7ghz stable now :toast:Quote:
