I'm hitting a wall exactly at the same HTT of 275 with 2x512 OCZ 4200 3-4-4-8 1T (09/14 bios) and I get a "Nvidia Raid Services failes" message everytime I come into Windows - funny though this does not appear in case I boot with 270...Quote:

Btw - can anyone tell me which mem I find on my 2x256 3500EB ?
Is it better to set the HTT Multiplier yourself or to leave it at AUTO? I am unsure of this setting.
I think i must have 32 or 33sek ...
34 is bit low???
http://mitglied.lycos.de/siedl/10x260_34sek.jpg
well, I hit what I was trying for :)
everything same as before except 3V Vdimm using DDR Booster.
What memory is that ?
If you mean me.. That is 1 256Mb stick of OCZ PC4200EL..Quote:

i think my ram has the same chips, im trying to get it stable at 270. bypass and r/w bypass are set at 4 (any lower gives big bandwidth loss) and all the dqs, 32byte stuff is set to dibable or decrease for stability.
how did you get past 275 for a start, are your pcbs better than mine?

these are the only settings I changed from Auto:
CAS latency to 3
Ras to CAS Delay Delay to 4
Ras Precharge to 4
TRAS to 7 (might need 8 for your ram)
TRC to 11
Also, Do not Take Vdimm over 2.9V if booting to windows. Mine will hang If it goes Higher,
And I just noticed. I had to run 2T for High FSB.
and to let you know. I have 2 sticks of the PC4200EL. 1 will not go over 290 FSB while the other will do 326 FSB.
And yes, The PCB's used in OCZ Ram are designed for Maximum performance and for low noise.
Also, A 512MB module will limit your Overclock also. A64's don't always like double sided Dimm's.
@hag6br
I thought u used 3v as mentioned above...??
I recon on my Asus K8V I had to do a cmos-clear after switching between the 3500EB and the 4200 - otherwise the screen would go blank when booting into windows... dunno if those MB's store some information in the backyard that you hv to get rid of when trying with diff ram...?
Your hint re voltage might work for me as well... had one module running at 300 with the max vdimm of 2.85v on the MSI K8N.. will giv e it a try this evening
I did.. I booted up at 2.9V and after into windows, I used the DDR booster to bring it up to 3V.. :cool:Quote:

Dont think it will be that great with 2T =)
Just look at what Ballistix can do on this board with default voltage and 2.5-2-2-11 timings:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...allistix/2.jpg
Allbrain, that prime95, pifast, superpi stable ?
That is Super_PI 32 MB stable. I will test with some 3D benchmarking as soon as I get my new GFX, but I believe that if it can pass a 32 MB Super_PI test, then it is stable.
hag6br: yeh i should have thought of 2T. just i was very impressed that this board let me run my ram at 1T this high!
i can boot windows at 3.2 bios 3.16 ite monitor. but im pretty sure thats 3.2v real cause the ite guardian read my psu rails much lower than DMM.
oh well its budget ram so im happy!
also managed to tweak some bandwidth.
now tonight i will put in a pci vid card so i can run memtest all night and manage to sleep :D
Just saw http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2206&p=7
seems that 270 is the max with 2 sticks.
and if anandtech cant get further, what hope have we got :stick: :D
@reject
Since the review of the K8N Neo by those guys and people like myself rushed to buy THE A64 board of your dreams ... I now know what to think about their reviews....
To be fair, at least with the DFI they came closer to reality... ;) But I do think we can go further - let's wait for some more awesome stuff by Oscar :)
I wish I had a Phasechange Cooler and I could do some awesome stuff:D
Nope.. it barely runs a Sandra benchmark at that speed.. :p:Quote:

Im just finished putting a cpu cooler on my pro.
What OS and what drivers for the ati do you use eva ?
I gonna beat that score later this evening when mr COLD enter outside =)
why I´m only getting 43 seconds on super pi with a a64 3400+ cw co @ 2.2ghz and 40 seconds @ 2.4gz ?
2x512 Ocz El Plat Rev2 + Dfi Lanparty UT nf3 250gb
Sounds like thermal throttling.
its disabled, cool&quiet too.. also I got Oscar´s 10/5 Beta bios..
ddr@200fsb 2-2-2-5 1T..
@Loque
Clock the hell out of that RAM and CPU man. It has got it in her.
The RAM will do 2-2-2-5-1T all the way up to 220FSb with 2 sticks in.
After that you will have to use CL 2.5
Also just go ahead and run v2.9 to the RAM and put your chipset at v1.8. It shouldn't run too hot. Mine runs very cold for it only having the stock cooler.
my nF3 is so hot, it lowered my gpu and memory ocs. so i put on a blue zalman hs and i still cant oc my card as far.
GOOD NEWS: ran memtest all last night, did 21 full loops and only got 6 errors!
i think that modding my vsense and bumping vdimm will eliminate those errors am i right?
i had to put Tref down to 4196 and lost a bit of unbuffered, but i want it stable most of all and cpu speed can make up for the loss :D
I got alittle more out of my DFI, CPU, and RAM tonight.
I finally hit 275x8.0 with 1:1
I posted a picture..
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...chmentid=17717
I want to see if I can tweak the timings alittle...what do you guys think it should handle? 2.5-4-3-10? I'll give that one a try.
missed your reply ... yeah partly due to my 2-2-2-6 timings and the max async latency being tighterQuote:

280 is max..over that and computer dies after a while.
Can you post settings for that ?
you must be using 1 or 2 sticks of 256. no way those awesome results could happen in a 1gig rig :D
Wrong and right :cool:Quote:

luckily D3 is openGL and runs sweeeet!
anyway ill try disabling it thanks
EDIT
forgot to say, did another all nighter memtest and got 4 errors in 9 hours 30 mins or 28 full loops!
i reckon one more and it will be error free!
After nearly 60 pages i have to repeat a question which is very important for some of us.
I have this DFI Board too and my investigations are that there is a performance difference @ stockspeed between the DFI and other Mobos but it dont lies in the Memory Bandwith as it seems.
So what is to say?
Is it possible for DFI to achieve a higher performance with upcoming bios releases or will it always be neccesary to reach acceptable results only by tweaking the DFI?
Whats the matter is it the memory interleaving some of u guys already talking about?
What do u guys think?
maybe DFI bios update could have 2 speed/performance presets like standard and turbo too ?
wooo hooo!
10 hrs 50 mins, 32 full loops and not a single error!!!!!
also got a new 3000+ for free today so gonna try out its ocing ability. i bet it was the iss not making good contact with core.
Really hard to say. I bet a big part of it is, they must have taken their time with the power management layout, and did a great job. Now, if only they'd change the vcore to all easy to understand values, and fix the double-save & exit thing, it'd be perfect. :D I've written down most all of the vcore voltages now, but figuring it out in the beginning is a bit tricky. ;)Quote:

You just press "yes" and continue to install.
But Control panel for sound wont be installed i think.
doh so simple :o
is dx8 faster in 2k1?
yup :)
I have got a serious problem with this board.
Yesterday it ran fine, till the lockup in windows.
Now my bios is sort of corrupt, sometimes teared up bios screen. lockup logo LANPARTY...etc. so i thought trying to reflash overwrite the 9/12 bios with the 10/5.
After serveral times trying. (sometimes the system hang during loading the bootdisk) I reflashed the bios.
But still it hangs and my bios is STILL corupt.
Can someone help me with this? or RMA?
maybe memory oc'd too high ? tried hot flashing ?
i have a bios savior installed on my DFI board for such emergencies
Heh, when you go to install the NF3 drivers and you get that pop-up about DX9, just hit yes. :toast:Quote:

well i reflashed my bios now 3 times. so it cannot be the bios.Quote:

tried different ram, different dimm slots ? condensation in dimm slot area ?
different ram, At this moment i only have 2 diff. mem. Tryed them in any order. One dimm only etc etc.Quote:

Very odd problems it is.
a few people have had similar issues due to condensation forming near the dimm slots as well, might want to check
hmmm should i try to remove the ihs from my hottest cpu? there may be a bubble in the contact.
its really bugging me that i can oc my memory so far but not cpu.
im gonna go water in a couple of months but i want to get a reasonable air oc otherwise water wont be much better i fear...
otherwise board is rock steady.
240x10 prime errors, crashes, 270x9 same deal. ive tried a few voltages, uup to about 1.67 but no imporvement. not even 3d stable so i cant burn it in.
I found it :DQuote:

What about Catalyst drivers, that require DX9? Or is there an ultimate version of Cats to use, without the DX9 requirement? I'm using a VIVO@ XT PE, if that's relevant to older driver performance. Thanx. :)Quote:

4.9 sucks for 3d2k1
Hi again,
I got my DFI yesterday, really happy :D
Though i havent bought any new ram, som im stuck with kingston ddr333 hyperx, not bh-5 :(
Anyway, my problem is that i get a ugly bluescreen, IRQL not less or equal, this is a bad ass bluescreen, can be anything. So i release the timings abit and it seems to work, and i tried another dimm slot then dimm1 but it wont work, the screen dont come on, just black, but i can hear it start and so....weird...
Why cant i use another slot then 1, and do anyone no what my bluescreen could be.
It sucks ? ppl recommended it =(Quote:

@ spaceman: I think anything beyond 4.9's isn't going to work with dx8 setup, but for 2k1, with an X800 variant, 4.9's, dx8.1 and W2k are the best.
@ Ubermann: Last time I benched a 9800 the 3.2's, dx8.1 and W2k beat all. That may have changed in the last 6 months or so, but might be worth trying.
Sucks the way this 3d benching path is going atm. You pretty much need to keep multiple OS partitions setup if you want to get any kind of a competitive score.
lol, and just to stay on topic, all of those OS/dx configs work great on my DFI mobo! :p:
trey sounds like your ram is stressed too much try looseing timings a bit more. is it stable at stock?
sorry my mistake i was think 4.8 drivers heh 4.9 are okay for 3d2k1 hehQuote:

get TCCD then geail ultra X for budget or ocz EL rev.2 for richer!
I was thinking on one of thous, but here in sweden they have the same pricetag, so if i buy them here i will go for the ocz.... But are the TCCD ram the best when its 2x512, it seems so, but im not sure, im gonna think until the end of this month, then i need to buy a pack!
I just love my new DFI Mobo.... :D
At last .... my ADATA Vitesta DDR500 with Hynix -D5 Chips 1X512MB running on 295 1:1 @ 2.9 Vmem Cl3 4-4-4-8 CMD 1T...
This is not stable but is just a reference for Performance.... :toast:
http://www.thelab.gr/attachment.php?s=&postid=110345
Dagalidis, you're using a DFI now too? Or is that 4500mb/s still on your KV8Pro?
Is anybody using 2x 512MB RAM AND OCZ Booster on the DFI?
I put Booster in DIMM1 (only choice) and RAMs in DIMM2&3.
Upping the voltage works smoothly, but DIMM2&3 seem kinda crappy in terms of RAM stability. So I can't get higher RAM OCs with the booster. :(
Any comments? thx, goldlocke.

The DIMM nearest to the CPU is DIMM3 my friend...if that is to what you are referring to.

Is yours marked DIMM 3? Mine is clearly marked DIMM 1, the one closest to the CPU socket. :confused:Quote:

hehe :D, anyway, why can i only use dimm1? if i try some else in wont show anything on my screen, though i can here it start and all!?
Its probably because you have a C0. What is your chip?
i got a newcastle, cg chip!
DFI's new beta bios has memtest built into it. I just flashed it, and works just like the CD one. Get them here: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=336683
Sweet, I was wondering when there'd be a new "official" BIOS, but I'll definitely settle for this. :D Thanx. EDIT: Whoa, baby, did you read the rest of that thread? peace perc,
vdimm off the +5? Thats pretty simple to do... just cut the trace that feeds your vregs from the +3.3 and solder the +5 to it.
Yeah I should learn to read them with the lights on LOL!
I am sorry guys. Forgive me:(
Simple for you, maybe. I have 3 left thumbs, on my right hand. :p: ;) I dunno, if I had pics, I might try it, but I'd sure hate to mess up. :( I'll hang tough a bit, and see how that Samurai Jack mod looks. :)Quote:

Connect to input side of vdimm supply, disconnect supply from +3.3. Have fun.
