Redlines would be nice and were suggested on EVGA forums however they are next to impossible to find. The only place i could find them was in the US and with shipping/handling/tax/duty etc they worked out at almost £300 and up to 2 weeks wait to get them here so that aint happening.
Hey guys got a question about the 760 board. What is the slot configuration for 3-way SLI? I assume it's 1, 2 and 4? I am referring to the x16 PCI-express 2.0 slots here.
Also if I use the fourth slot does that mean I need a case with at least 8 PCI expansion card slots? I've got a HAF 932 and that only has 7 so I was wondering if I can even run 3 way SLI if the 4th x16 PCI-Express slot is the last slot needed for 3-way.
you can run either combo. there are two 3way sli bridges included for each configuration (usually if you want to put a physx card in between)

Guys, I need help choosing a new PSU to replace my TT toughpower 1500w as it is giving me a headache.
I ordered a Silverstone ZM1200M but canceled the order because TigerDirect (never going to buy from them again) never shipped my PSU, though I waited for more than 14 days for them to do so !!!!!
Any way, I'm going to buy form Amazon, and I need a PSU that is :
1- Modular or Hybrid modular ( full modular is preferred )
2- has 2 x 8 Pin EPS or 8 pin and 4+4
3- at least a 120mm fan or above, don't like those 80mm.
4- has at least 3 x 8pin PCI-E or 3 x (6+2) pins, the 6+2 is preferred
5- Modular, yes twice I know..............
I was thinking the Silverstone ST1500 or the Enermax galaxy evo ( people say the EVO is incompatible with the EVGAs, is that true)
Peace.
You use a previous bios than S61A;)
This one showed nice results but it is half modular.
The 80mm fan on it is very quiet.

Are you 100% sure that the likes of the Corsair Dominator GTs,G.Skill Perfect Storms (or even larger heatspeaders) and such will fit with no clearance issues with a True Black or Mega Shadow on the Classy in the traditional orientation with normal 25mm fans in push/pull ?
Reason i keep asking is my last build was hell, for alot of reasons.. and I want this build to go a smooth as it can be, hence asking even more questions then I usually do.
so nice
Yes, I am sure. I owm Megashadow which is wider than True and G.Skill Trident (very tall RAM). 38mm fans are no go (2mm too wide combined setup), 25mm is perfect with plenty of space.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...rd/fansram.jpg
In fact, even if you're going to populate all 6 RAM slots it will still fit, you will just have to mount fans with something else other than those metal brackets. For True any setup should fit with ease, 3, 6 slots, as long as fans are 25mm. Might fit 3 RAM sticks and 38mm fans, but no promises.
No idea, really.
I went with Corsair myself due to the excellent quality and the premium service. My HX1000 has done a great job so far. But your call what to pick. :)
Antec 1200 PSU should be even better if you can afford that.
For E760
PCI-E x 16 slot 1 = x16 bandwidth (x8 bandwidth if PCI-E x16 slot 2 is occupied)
PCI-E x16 slot 2 = x8 bandwidth (if occupied, drops PCI-E x16 slot 1 to x8 bandwidth)
PCI-E x 16 slot 3 = x16 bandwidth (x8 bandwidth if PCI-E x16 slot 4 is occupied)
PCI-E x16 slot 4 = x8 bandwidth (if occupied, drops PCI-E x16 slot 3 to x8 bandwidth)

sorted guys thanks for the help.
salamander, yup its a crt, benching test rig!
My further thoughts on the above as im still trying to work out the memory situation..
Geil Black Dragons look awesome, have decant timings and are cheap, but they are an unknown quantity as they are new on the market as part of Geils resurrection of the Black Dragon brand, a brand which was well regarded last time around as i recall.
GSkill NQ looks a bit high latency but cheap and is red to go well with the classy.
GSkill HQ looks good but is blue and not red so would clash with the classy cosmeticly (hey.. it is kinda a minus if doing a windowed case), also pretty good value like pretty much every G.Skill kit.
Very tempted by the Black Dragons.. though hard to tell if Geil is still as well regarded as they have been as they have been keeping a low profile as of late so they are more of an unknown quantity vs the g.skill stuff.
Anyone have any comments or anything on the kits mentioned above ?
I can't say I really like any of the above in particular. I'd prolly go with G.Skill CL9 ones.
One thing I can suggest is doing some research in regards to memory chips used. Some cheap RAM can be a crazy clocker.
Maybe look into OCZ RAM (it's black) if you don't want to get a semi-expensive 2GHz kit.
I have the Classified (760) and I have noticed a couple things:
1 - My CPU temp sometimes is very low, for example it will show it at 22c when the individual cores are at 33c - 35c. It will actually swing back and forth between 22c and 33c constantly.
2 - During bootup it doesn't see my Merc Steel Series Keyboard until after it has gotten past the initial boot screen. This is only happening on my illuminated Merc board and I can plug in my non-illuminated Merc keyboard and it sees it fine. It's more of an inconvenience since I have to hook up my older Merc keyboard if I want to go into the bios.
3 - I haven't taken a volt meter to it yet, but it seems to be overvolting my VTT and Dimm voltages a bit. I set my VTT to +25 and it shows 1.21v in the bios, but in Windows Eleet shows it at 1.25v. My Dimm is set at 1.63v and it reports as 1.66v in Eleet.
4 - I am running Bios E760S61J, should I be running a different Bios?
I am overclocking it to 200BCLK for 4.2Ghz with turbo and HT on. The only voltage I have messed with are CPU vcore (1.26), CPU VTT (+25) and DIMM voltage (1.63v). All others are at default or auto.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.
Thanks.
The COrsair is nothing but a CWT based PSU, which has a possibility to fail me like the 2 Thermaltakes I tried and the gigabyte Oden as all are CWT based PSUs, I think maybe the newer batches from CWT has fixed the issue, but you never know what you get.
The Antec is fine but I kinda hate the cables with that big fat plastic on them and the 80mm fan, I'll be pushing my systems too much and that 80mm fan while scream.
I'm currently using :
CLassified E760
950 corei7 will be overclocked to at least 4.5GHz
6GB OCZ blade CL9 DDR3 2000
2 x 4870x2 CrossfireX
1 Gigabyte GTS 250 for physX
4 HDs
1 DVD drive
water cooling system with 4 Fans and one Pump
2 140mm fans
1 220mm fan
2 Cold cathods.
so..............
I've been running a Corsair HX1000 on my 760 since I got the Classy with no problems whatsoever.
Enermax EVO 950 and no issues whatsoever.
Looks like my board might be now dead.
I took it out of the box as I was about to sell it. Put everything back together and it wont even post. Changed memory, tried different video card but nothing. I tested the connection points for the voltages on the board with a DMM, everything read within what I would say normal parameters except the VCORE, only read .054V. I took the CPU out and powered it up, VCORE jumped to about 1.0V then immediately went down to about .08V. Put the CPU back in, only jumped to about .07V before going back down to .054V.
Any suggestions? All the pins appear to be making contact but I did have to bend one back in to place. Surely that wouldn't have caused a problem as I have done it with another board without any issues.
I am going to test a different CPU tomorrow.
Hi everyone i am a owner of a brand new EVGA 4-way SLI+nf200 but before i read the entiere form here i d' like to know if this form is for the 4-way aswell ?
so i d'hont have to read it entirley for notthing lol ;-)
regards M.I.K.E.Y
Finally had the time to throw my new 920 + classified under phase today. And wow what a blck monster. My X58A-UD7 tops out @ 237 blck. The E760 has no troubles at all getting up to 267. Really hoping to pull a 5GHz 24/7 clock out of this thing.
My goal as well^^. Great hardware you seem to have there. Wish you luck.
What kind of phase is it?
I'm torn between the Galaxy EVO 1250 and the Silverstone ST1500.
Any suggestions before I place an order on any of them ?!?!?
Ohh I'll be receiving the EK full water block for my Classified tomorrow......can't wait to try it out.
Silverstone's great, but do you really need that much power?
My God are u sitting in the same room with the computer...? :eek2:
lol... yep, rotaries are... erm... little silent bastages. :D
Quick questions guys, Is it normal for the Classified Mosfet heatsinks to be finger-burning hot during stress tests?
atm, Im priming at 4.3Ghz, vcore 1.29V
Should be cooled by fresh air directed there by a fan. ;)
I really don't get it. At first this thing was an overclocking dream now I seriously can't get 166MHz bclk out of this thing. Didn't change a thing.
does anyone have any "dirty" settings i can shoot for, im gettin the phase hooked up tomorrow afternoon and i havent played with i7s before and i keep noticing mention of blck. anyone with some spare time able to shoot me some info?
Condensation in socket?
From my own experience with this board (760) i gotto say it is a bit spooky and no fun at all.. testing stuff and adjusting them with E-leet, running linx all mem 50x stable, then adjusting settings in bios.. run linx again fail in 1 loop.. weird....
with out vdroop the vcore volt goes up and with vdroop it goes down.. vdramm overvolts.. and vtt in E-leet also overvolts..qpi set in E-leet shows 0,5 difference in cpu-z and so on, cant run mem 2:8 at all !! (trust me tried every way possible) vreg temp in E-leet are off big time.. all in all.. its difficult to pin the right volts on this board, at least for me it is :)
Tell me about it, the first day I got the mobo, it hated my OCZ blade DDR3 2000 and refused to some times even boot unless I remove one stick, and the first time I ran memtest it gave me thousands of errors!
Reset the CMOS twice fixed every thing though!
OHHH and I got my EK Classified waterblock.....SEXY SEXY SEXY!!!:yepp:
Weird behavior. Did you try to reflash BIOS?
G'luck, mate.
Well I don't know what the problems but throwing it on air fixed it :D And it is going to stay that way until the cascade is done I am afraid.
increased my max bclk by 10mhz :)

S61A
boot 241bclk:
pcie 110
CPU impedance less (not sure if i need this)
QPI comp less
clock skew 100
QPI mode 4.8g
just using 16x uncore - high 'minimum' vTT seems because of bclk
vTT @ 241 16xun (3.85ghz un) 2:8 = 1.60V min to boot Windows + 32M
compared to:
vTT @ 225 20xun (4.50ghz un) 2:8 = 1.60v 32M
vTT @ 201 20xun (4.01ghz un) 2:10 = 1.425V Prime
1.8 PLLs @ 1.50v
QPI PLL + IOH vcores 1.1V
eleet to 244 .. 1.625 vTT @ 244, but 245 freezes after about 20 seconds idle.
Very good with 4 cores Enabled. My Record is 243-4 I think but with only 2 cores enabled.
This is my record for freq and bclk.

I know the time is not good but i just wanted to pass 5+GHz and this is on water at -1 ambient :D.
thanks :) and congrats for 5048mhz
i'm not going very far with 21x CPU: even 2 cores still haven't got past 234x21 for validation (just freezes @ 235x21)
2 core / no HT

Can someone tell me what the 4E error is?
If i go in the bios and overclock, F10 save and exit and on boot up it hangs on the classified logo screen and gives the code 4E. Hit reset and it boots into windows no problem with my overclocked settings ???????
I'll be receiving my new PSU the Silverstone ST1500 today !! :D
Can't wait to install it and hopefully end the Cold boot issue I'm having with the CWT based PSUs !!! :yepp:
OK I got the ST1500 :D I installed it in my Spedo case, let me tell you something about it...... it is HUGE !
Bigger than a thermaltake ToughPower 1500w by around an inch and it is much heavier !
I have not tested the cold boot issue because installing this PSU drained me !
there are 2 things though I find them really bad in this PSU, one of them I totally new about it and it did not worry me much which is the lack of power switch in the back of the PSU, now the 2nd issue is really annoying and did make installing the PSU a little on the annoying side, its the cables, they are inflexible enough for me !
I'll test the PSU later tomorrow, now I go play some Star Trek Online !
OMG finally, the silverstone ST1500 solved my Cold Boot issue !! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
Congrats!
lovin this board :)
BIOS settings and what cooling are you using?
Great OC by the way
Thanks mate. I'm using DICE with a Koolance LN2/DICE pot.
Boot at 109mhz PCIE, pull to 113.4 via Eleet
Vcore depends on your cpu I use 1.5-1.525v
VTT depends on your cpu I used +300
QPI PLL vcore 1.4v
IOH PLL Vcore 1.8v
CPU PLL Vcore 1.8v
1OH I/O 1.6v
ICH vcore 1.05
cpu signal less
qpi signal less
vtt pwm 610
cpu pwm 1210
my team and i have some numbers to.

Anyone have problems to boot over 4500mhz under Dry ice? this one can't :S.
Many high OC's are done with basic cards that aren't demanding on the rest of the system. Nice to see yours with a decent card.
do you have the x-cool jumper in the right position? It's at the bottom of the ram slots, and it's key in booting cold.
Thanks dude. I was looking for a great base to get all of my benching and the board really made it easy. IOH voltages are key for those beat cards at high PCIE freq.
Dual Chip graphics card hates high PCI-E clocks !
I take it most of you are using a multimeter to read volts? I just did a quick test and Eleet is out by quite abit :(
Vcore: Eleet 1.31 / Everest 1.31 / multi 1.28
DDR: Eleet 1.68 / multi 1.65 (1.64 load)
VTT: Eleet 1.4 load. 1.37 idle / multi 1.3 load, 1.29 idle
IOH (NB): Eleet 1.18 / multi 1.15
CPU PLL: Eleet 1.8 / multi 1.79
QPI PLL: Eleet 1.15 / multi 1.13
Both ICH: multi & Eleet read the same
when I get my damn monitor back i'll update with my settings & what I read with the multimeter. some of those thats a pretty good difference
