damn it I just put 902 on >_< damn them
I must had a bad crossfire connector now it's all working fine out of case though.
I can't my power button on the case to work lol
Well i jus tset up the M3A79-T again with 720 installed,, flashing 905,, hope its better than 902 for overclockng.
803 has given the best Oc results with my 9950/720. The 902 did same clocks but sometimes would Not work on same Multis as the 803 with out affecting my CPU volts and HT..
902 Has some wierd bug on voltage when certain HT or HTT settings are used. Mainly above 290HTT.
time to load the 905:D
2:16A.M. Saturday morning.
UPDATE,,
905 seems pretty solid. THe temps for CPU seem High in Bios .. In windows it reports 10c lower and My DVom reads 10c lower than than what Bios reports. It is higher temps than the 803 for my 720.
In all not too bad a Bios Has same Buggyness above 293HTT while using variouse HT settings . It causes Voltages on CPUvid to change or lower when using CPUvid 1.41v and 1.52v .
No unlocking feature.. i was Hoping Beta would have it. Dang ASUS has it for m4's , this thing is no different than M4 its still SB750 lol. I want to be unleashed .
my crossfire keeps getting disabled.
must be cat 9.5
Official 9.6 is out now:D
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx
I didn't have any problems with Cat 9.5 and just dumped those for 9.6 and so far they work fine as well. Also flashed to BIOS 905 today and it seems to be working fine here. Haven't pushed the overclock, the 940 is stable at 3.8Ghz. Should be cooler later this week so I can see if it will hit 4.01Ghz like BIOS 901 allowed. Wish I had A/C in the room would try it right now.
Update on BIOS 905, I wanted to check Asus claim about Cool & Quiet and C1E together. First thing I had to do was cut back on the overclock since Cool & Quiet doesn't work above 3.7Ghz. Then I set both Cool & Quiet and C1E to enabled. Didn't notice any problems at first but went into town to do some things and left the system running while I was gone. Came home and found the system clock lost 1 minute per hour while these two were both set to enabled. Disabled C1E and just left Cool & Quiet enabled and clock works fine.
Another BIOS arrived:

01. Fix the issue that the CPU fan speed may be incorrect under Q-fan "Slient Mode".
02. Reduce the thermal of the CPU.
Ive had that happen too. I thought it was just me...I also Noticed that the Temps on any CPU read hiher than the 803Bios with 905... So ill be trying the 1001 Sunday.
Exactly,, Also i think they Fixed Temp sensor reading too or lowered it.
Does anyone see a option for unleashed yet.? I really wish they would for this Mobo
1001 seems a bit weird to me. I flashed, restarted, all my settings were back to auto. Loaded my OC profile and restarted, was prompted to redo BIOS again. Repeated, same. Then I just went in, saved it with everything still on auto, restarted, and it stopped prompting me to go to BIOS. Restarted again and it let me keep my settings after that
Seemed fine after that but then I went back to testing my max OC with C&Q enabled. For some reason it does not like always restarting now with voltages over 1.45v when it used to restart fine. I just now had to resort to flipping the switch on the PSU and waited a few minutes and then turned it back on and it seems fine, not even a no-post warning. The reset button and holding down the power button would not post, the PSU switch was what I HAD to do to get it running. Not sure why my method to turn off/restart mattered but oh well.
On the bright side of things I am up to 3,829Mhz (18.5x207) on my 955BE at the moment and C&Q is still working just fine
Just a quick test (PhII 550BE @ 4 core):
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/8886/b40.th.jpg
Valid
I had to use BIOS 0803, 1001 is a no go :(
Nice. :)
I sold my Asus and PII 940 "years ago", but now i want test PII 550 + asus but what you can do, if i dont have that mobo.
PII 550 is very interesthing prosessor, can you unlock +2 cores with any PII 550 ? Great prossessor, OC good and very cheap, and if you can unlock cores, that is very nice.
But that mobo, i was very dissapointed, 180e mobo and IMO it was worse than Foxconn A7DA-S, Foxconn make score MUCH BETTER in wprime and i managed OC it more (siqnature), i didn't OC my stone till the ens(sry my english) becouse i thought with Asus i can OC more, but it didn't, damn.
The AMD OverDrive didn't work ( i had to OC with steps, 19x,20x, u know..) and i couldn't touch FSB.
With Foxconn came Foxconn own software, wich was pretty good ! :p:
But i reallyy can't understand wprime score..i just run quickly with foxconn wprime (24/7 windows,15x267=4005MHz) and with Asus i run it with fresh(!) Vista 64bit and with couple tweaks at 14.5x276=4002MHz and it make lower score
Foxconn was 790GX and Asus 790FX, so memory ran quicker than with 790GX, just can't understan.
And then i came at one compotiion only n2, not 1n (I tryed to score biggest score with AMD) that i aim.
So as you can see, i am very dissapointed to this mobo..
It didn't hurt, when sold it. :p:
This Asus is luckily OK, but it don't liek meory wich i use (OCZ,Corsair or Geil, too bad)
Sorry for offtopic..
ill update my bios today and let you know. It has been super hot lately where I live so I had to back down my OC to only a 200MHz increase on my PII 940. Hopefully I will see a couple degrees improvement, although I find that unlikely.
Has anyone tried the new 1102 BIOS yet? I see its on the ftp site. No info posted on any changes and its not on the Asus USA download site as of yet.
already seen , and I did the download,
now i have that flash, see the differences.
if somedoby try, tell the diffrences.
I would love if they added an "Unleashing mode" to this board.
I went ahead and flashed to BIOS 1102. I see no new features in this version but so far I like it. When I went to BIOS 1001 I saw my boot to windows time increase a bit over BIOS 905. Now with BIOS 1102 my boot to windows time is now back to what it was with BIOS 905.
well
time to boot, is a unique diference?

I do not find 1102 Bios on asus site only 1001

Where is the link for the 1102?
Thanks

Flashed the Bios (1102) yesterday, after some tests, seems stable for me, but the old "Roll-A-Dice" Effect for Ram settings is back, if i set Timings 5-5-5-24-41 i get :
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/9625/3871456v.th.jpg
And i got a warning message every time when i put on the PC "Overclocking Failure ..... Press blablabla ......." - but it worked ok ......
everything else seems ok, Ram-Timings are broken again.
Bios is stable for me also @ higher overclocks, but it's hot outside so that i have to reduce the clock :)
regards
tryn
Updated to 1001 and I don't like it
I have to push down the NB speed to 2.4GHz to keep my system stable
it works fine with 0905 NB @ 2.6GHz
The system boot slower too ,
I suggested skip 1001 and get newer BIOS
Which Bios is currently the best option to have the best of both worlds OC and stable
See I actually have had a positive experience with 1001. When I leave my CPUv on AUTO, it only applies 1.325v to my 955BE, and not upwards of 1.45v. This is not a big plus to me since I hard-set the voltage, but nice to see regardless. What I have noticed that that my RAM stays more stable now. I have 4x2GB Corsair Dominator 1066 DDR2 that would not run at 533Mhz (CAS 5) with my 955BE (it would with my 7750BE oddly enough). It would fail prime within a minute or two, regardless of voltage. Now though, I can run prime for over an hour, at which point it does again fail. I am trying to now figure out steps I can take to keep it stable at 533Mhz, I would be happy with that since I don't feel memory speeds matter much for games. Have not tried how how high the ram will now clock at 400Mhz CAS 4, but before it would stop about 420Mhz before.
Oh, also it seems that to keep prime stable for an hour at 533Mhz requires less voltage. I tried 533Mhz at 2.1v (stock) and it failed after an hour. Bumped it up to 2.2v, it failed after an hour. Figured I would try 2v as well, and it also failed after an hour. So 2v, 2.1v and 2.2v failed within minutes of the same amount of time. Tells me the RAM is not what is failing, and that it is either my CPU's IMC, the mobo, or some combination I am trying to pin down. Either way, 533Mhz was not an option with this hardware on any other BIOS.
1001 was horrible for me. I couldn't get NB past 2.2 stable. 1102 is much better, but I don't think it's on par with 0905. 0905 was the best for stable OCs for me personally.
I got better temps con 1001, my cpu is running 1.325v as Tom128 mentioned, and 0905 it was hotter as i remember it was 1.4X v, My processor in both works flawless doing 3.6 ghz easily, but i live in a 100's F city (we've been reaching 40 celsius for almost a month now and we still have more hot days in this place, i do not what the @#$%@# i'm doing living here i should live in Norway ;-) , so the temp in my room is not the coolest. I do not have A/C on that room only some fan, so i decide to go stock now, so now i'm 3.1 Ghz and my CPU temp is when is hot about 46 Celsius, i do not know how bad or good it is, but in the mornings that is a little bit fresh my CPU runs in about 37 Celcius.
I have not tested 1102, yesterday i found is available and today i downloaded, but need to try it.
I flashed but not OC yet, i get about same or maybe 1-2 degrees more than 1001 reads on my CPU. Has been stable but is a stock 3.1 ghz. No luck unlocking for cores on my 550BE .
New BIOS up. Good news for those with dual and tri-core Phenom II chips.

Yeah...if only they had released this BIOS a month ago. Just sold mine recently and got a Gigabyte so I could play with the unlocking. :(
Unfortunate since I actually rather liked the board. Oh well. Hope this BIOS works well for you guys.
Updated the bios, unlocked the 4th core, but cannot get past win7 boot screen, it always freezes and I need to shutdown the PC. So far no luck.
I guess the 4th core on 720BE is faulty.
Updated Bios and my 3rd and 4th cores are unlocked, so far so good 3.1 stable but will work on it to see if is ok...
hmm.... flashed the Bios today, after Flashing it looses Bios settings when i hit Save & Exit ....... the only thing that was saved was the Date o.O
EDIT: Ok, downgrade to 905 and Flashing the 1203 again solved my problem ....
Its the only thing I hate about my M3A79-T mb . Mine is brown also . When I bought it from NewEgg I honestly thought it was black . I hope when the new asus AMD boards come out in early 2010 they make sure there high end boards are black . Thank goodness the brown board color does not stand out , being easily noticed !!! Other than that it is a great board !!!
Getting some problems when i decide to install ARCTIC COOLING ACCELS1 Rev 2 VGA Cooler on my HD4850, i removed 2 dimms of memory i did not notice there it was Yellow-Black-Yellow-Black slots, so i just pull of a pair of memory modules and i left installed one on a yellow and one on a black slot, then i tried to boot and only BEEPS no image, then i realize my mistake and i move the one on the black to the other yellow empty slot as the manual suggest install them in yellow for better overclockability. But still no BOOT, i decide to try other video card which i just bought for my son's pc and the same, i try that one again on my son's pc and is working but i can not install mine as the PSU did not have that power connector. I do not know what i'm doing wrong, i just got BEEPS only no image on screen.
Let me know your thoughts
Sincerely
clear the cmos see if that helps.
if clear cmos doesn't work
try one stick at a time
Is a weird one, i need your help. My system was working properly, i removed 2 sticks of memory to build my son's new rig, as i wrote before, i did not look that i left a yellow-black combination, i used those 2 sticks con my son's pc and is working properly too. I bouth that cooler so i remove my video card to installed, after i finish, i just placed it back and turn it on, but i did not see the yellow-black combination, my PC only does BEEPS , like is booting but i do not have video. So i try with my son's video card and the same no booting no video. So i decided to do more test, i used the clear RTC Ram Jumper and no results, also i removed the battery and the same. I decide to try the video card on each of the PCI-e this mobo has
i started with the BLUE closer to CPU which is where i currently use the video card, then i moved to the other blue slot, NOTHING :-( , moved to the first Black Slot and same, then to the other, NOTHING. Then i went to my Son's PC and removed the video card, and try each of the PCI-e slots and NOTHING. I removed the two memory modules and try on the black ones and NOTHING, I exchange those memory modules with the first 2 i original moved to my Son's PC and NOTHING, on my Son's PC it boots with any of those 4 modules. So the memory is not wrong, i had it installed before. Also the video card from my son is working on his rig but NOT on mine. What else could it be? I disconnect every SATA port, i had 2 HD on those ports also 2 CD/DVD DVDRW combos on SATA. I do not know what i'm missing, I checked again every cable from my PSU and where they shold be connected. I only had one doubdt, on my video card, there is a connector to the fan than came with it, but as i removed the heatsink, i installed the new one and a 120mm FAN, that fan is not connected to the video card, is connected to the MOBO.
I hope to hear from you soon
THANKS
and Sorry for my english.
Sincerely

Well Now is working, how? i do not know, but is working. I found unlocking my 3rd and 4th cores in windows XP 32b i got some freeze moments that make me reboot. I had win7 installed on my HD and with that OS i do not have those freeze issues, so as i usually use XP as my main OS i decided to no unleash the beast, that way i had not freezing problems. My CPU temp is fine as the latest Bios the Vcore is 1.32 so is a little bit colder than using 904. I plan to use as my main OS win7 64 to unleash all cores...Keep in touch
The M4A79 DELUXE is better than the M3A79-T DELUXE?
Hello, Dolk from OCF
I'm looking for anyone that has unlocked any of their cores using the new Unleashed mode with the 1203 BIOS.
If you have please share CPU with model number, and complete BIOS and System Configuration.
--Dolk
After using without problems for 1 year the BIOS 0703, I decided to try the new bios 1203.
Unfortuntately I have many conflicts with my Cellshock memory and I decided to go back to 0703.
The problem is that now, the EZ flash utility gets a message that the board is newer than the BIOS and it doesn't allow me to flash it!
Any ideas to force the Flash??
In my case no.
Even if I use the Afudos command, I get the message that my board is newer than the bios 0703...
I had this same problem with my M3A78-T ,had to use this version of afudos, these are ES versions from asus forums.
http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/8/...FUDOS229ES.zip http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/8/...FUDOS236es.zip
Afudos 2.07 is working fine: "afudos207.exe /i0703.rom" (without quotes)
I bought a Phenom II X2 550BE and unlocked it:
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/9319/550beunlock.png
Only three cores are stable under Win 7 64 bit, OC later...
CACYC AC 0922MPMW
I tried both Afudos 2.07 and 2.36 with 2 different floppy disks and both of them won't do the job.
After I put the command in dos, it doesn't happen anything. The pc stops reading the disk and the only thing that I can do is restart, as I don't get any command prompt to try something else..
For mine I was able to go back BIOS by BIOS (had to go one by one, could not go back more than that in one flash) quite a ways but did reach a point that it would not let me go back any farther. I believe I was at bios 0903? Anyways, I wanted to try the mod bios 0030 for unlocking and had trouble getting back. I ended up doing some google searching and found a version of AFIDOS that let me flash back to whatever I wanted, but it was not the version downloaded from Asus. When I get back home I will see if I still have it and can put it online to download or email it if you can't find it.
Looks like the 1303 BIOS is up.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...eluxe/1303.zip
Nothing very significant in the release notes. Just says support for more CPUs.
After flashing with 1303 bios, I had problems with restarting the PC, it just hanged.
No significant changes regarding to 1203.
Flashed back to 1203.
The support list hasn't been updated yet, but I hope 1303 supports rev C3 CPUs! If it does we should all rejoice.
1303 is terrible can't overclock with it at all...
0703 for me the best!!
Just tried update from 0903 to 1303
1303 is BAD , I used to run 230x16 stable , not with 1303
I can't overclock the HTT ! It can't boot up with the same setting :shakes::shakes:
not even 205 x 16 , and the new BIOS broke the function of temperature reading of
K10Stat , CoreTemp , Everest
You can no longer able to read the CPU temp , all these software only show "0C" ( it works fine with 0903 )
for your core temp
I suggest AVOID getting 1303 , use the older version !!
So any updates on c3 + this motherboard????
I need a good bios, currently on 1303.
Charged and titan i think use this one, share some info guys!
I am @ 4ghz/2.8nb prime stable @ 1.45, really unstable in 4.1+
What changes in 1402? Did they fix the 13003 stability issues?
Here it is :
Quote:
M3A79-T Deluxe BIOS 1402
Fix the issue that system may be unable to build RAID 0 or RAID 1 with certain Kingston SSD.
Im on the 1303, I switched about 1 week ago it, works fine for me and I actually got a 100mhz increase in benching frequency going form 0903. So in other words In 3dm06 I was able to run 4.4ghz before, once I went to the 1303 I ran it at 4.5ghz (this is ice cooled water though).
My rig is strictly benching and gaming so things like raid are not a concern for me. So I cant really comment on those issues.
New Bios!

Had the same problem...i had 1203 with an x3 720 be unleash mode was cool, as i could unlock my extra core......i updated to 1501 cause i got an x2 555..the think is that anything above 210 x ? cant boot my pc.....with 1203 i was hitting 250~...so i got back to it...
Can i use SSD on this Mobo? Any good improve?
Thanks
Yes you can and they work fine. Honestly, what kind of question is that? Cant all modern MBs use a SSD? Even motherboards with only SATA1 can use them and only be limited on the max sustained speeds.
It seems ASUS have stop support M3A series :(
Last BIOS Update 1501 was at Dec 2009 and no further update available
I wish this board can support the up-coming Phenom II x6 but without BIOS support
I guess I have to head out and grab a new 890FX (probably not ASUS again)
Why would the current lack of a newer BIOS lead you to believe Asus no longer supports the board? As new CPU's are released Asus has updated the BIOS for them. Since the X-6 has yet to be released they still have time. Now when the X-6 is released and then they don't come out with a BIOS to support it, your claime of Asus no longer supporting the M3A series might hold some weight. But not before that point in time.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...42010009-1.jpg
whats the reserved value means ? anybody know ? i cant loosen the ram timing more than that..
I've been wondering that too. A bit silly really that with x5,33 multi you can't set tras, trp, trcd lower than 15, 5 and 5. If I want to set 1200MHz 4-4-4-4 or 1300 5-5-5-5 i need to use x4 multi, and that is pushing the fsb to max :/
But even M3N78-VM got BIOS update to support Phenom II x6
Similar design "M4A79 DELUXE" have support BIOS in the list
but not "M3A79-T DELUXE"
I hope ASUS will get BIOS udpate for this board as I am planning to drop an Phenom II x6 1090T with it
If it isn't the case , no further ASUS product I will consider
Call or email Asus Tech Support and demand an update for the X6. There is no physical reason the M3A79T-Deluxe can not support the CPU. With the memory controllers on the CPU die, the 79FX chipset in the M3A79T-Deluxe is identical to the M4A79 Deluxe.
i'll try it on the board with the lastest bios
I'll have it overnighted on release day
we might get lucky and not need an update
I'm feeling a little worried that we won't get Phenom II X6 BIOS support guys!
http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/m4_6cores/
The M4 boys have it already, but no mention on us M3 folks. If ASUS doesn't give us support I will never buy another ASUS motherboard out of protest.

I heard that there was a beta Bios going around on these forums. Anyone else hear that rumor or confirm it?
Just trying to find out if this board will be supported for the X6 release this week.
I hope not to wait too long
