WOW THIS BOARD IS THE WORST! So I've been flashed to F8 for a day, I turned off the computer for the first time to take out 2 of my 4 sticks of ram. Took them up, plugged back in, tried booting up, and of course it cycles 4 times... I shut it off, turned back on, cylced for forever, finally stopped cycling but didn't boot. I tried again and no visual again. I cleared cmos, tried booting, all I get is cycling. On, Off, On, Off, On, Off for 10, 15, 20 minutes. Nothing. Nothing. Put the two sticks back in, cleared cmos again, same result. Cycle, Cycle, Cycle for a half hour. What the :banana::banana::banana::banana: is wrong with this board? Do I need to take the battery out as well? I've NEVER had to take out the battery on any board, a simple shorting the pins has ALWAYS worked with any board I've had. Did I :banana::banana::banana::banana: up in having it still overclocked when I removed the two memory sticks? Someone give me some help before I smash this piece of junk. I'm on my laptop right now going nuts.

^ sounds like you forgot to turn off the PSU to me... but you do say you "plugged back in" so only thing I can think is that one or some of your sticks are faulty.

What I do that always work when this situation happends: Turn OFF PSU switch for 20 sec. Hope that helps.

Definately had the PSU off and unplugged, something I never forget. Tried turning off the switch for 10 minutes still doing it. I'll go to one stick in a minute. How the heck do I remove the battery? They're stuck in there pretty well lol.

Nope, removing battery did nothing, same thing with removing 3/4 sticks of the ram. What a waste of time and money this board is. Merry :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing christmas Gigabyte. What do I do now? RMA it and get a new one in 978787878 years?

Same thing mine did on the last beta bios. If you bought if from newegg within the last year, they will automatically rma/replace it for you. You have to return the board and all accessories in the original box and when they get it, they will send out a new board in 3-4 days.

Nothing. All this piece of crap does is cycle no matter what I do. I've NEVER HEARD OF ANY PEICE OF HARDWARE so poorly designed. Thanks for ripping off a poor college kid with no money. I have no computer anymore, no money, just lost my job because I no longer have a running car (hit a deer in one car, some maggot drunk driver hit me head on when he passed out at the wheel totaling my other car, nearly killing me.) Thanks gigabyte, I really appreciate the effort to ruin my Christmas. :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing scum of the world. If you can't make a piece of hardware that works, don't :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing sell it. $120 and days and days of my time wasted. Eat :banana::banana::banana::banana: and die you :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing cheap scum.

Someone needs to put these idiots out of business and get everyone who's been ripped off by them their money that THEY deserve.

Yea I did get it from newegg, but I gave my dad the cash to get it for me and he got it with his credit card. I live a few towns over in my own condo with my gf now but I hope they don't give me crap about the address, as it was shipped to my old house. Sadly, I don't even have enough money to ship it back to them. Now it's going to be friday before Christmas so it'll be weeks before I get a replacement.

Who the :banana::banana::banana::banana: designed this piece of crap? I'm never, EVER touching anything from Gigabyte again.

Fixed... Removed the last stick of ram from the first dram slot, put it in the 3rd one, put the 3rd one in the first, plugged back in and it fired right up... I have nothing left to say lol.

Cold boot issues so bad that I'm scared to put the other two sticks back in...

Right now I'm stable at 414mhz fsb... Ram running extremely loose... 415mhz fsb = fail super pi. Tried giving it 2.1v on the ram no good.

+.1v PCI-e
+.1v FSB
+.1v MCH
+.3v dimm

1.425v CPU

Was able to get the cpu stable on the P5W DH at the same voltage but at 450mhz FSB...

From the results I've seen not many have needed more than +.1v on the MCH or FSB to get stable 450+... Any suggestions? More cpu voltage? More ram voltage? Mch? FSB? Blow torch it? Baseball bat? Run it over?

The issue was unheard of. Needing to remove all 4 sticks of ram in order to reset something with the board is pretty lame. None of the sticks were faulty, loose or anything, the board is just picky...

IMO all that should have been said was that the new bios required you to remove/swap all your RAM sticks to make the board boot again - and the useful bit would have been the info I have not seen reported yet - IE - is the board running at the same settings it was before you updated the bios and had to swap the RAM?

Put the damn things back in and experiment with different combinations the hell out of it before you start moaning and asking for alternatives - you are the person that actually have the hw in front of you to see how things react:slap:

............... and realize that different combinations of the same hw will react differently because you are running the stuff outside of spec - and by quite a bit on the RAM:fact:

...hmmm this final bios doesn't look promising...running this board seems like walking thru a minefield...not flashing this one.

i have a S3 mobo and gigabyte hasn't released a new bios since october, does anyone know of any beta bios around? or could i just flash my S3 with the DS3 bios?

You could, it works - MadMikeSS had problems with this one on the S3 though. Check a few pages back.
