If it fails try going up a couple notches on the vcore.
There is no Nb sensor that I am aware of on this board.

EDIT: Sorry missed the 1.3vid part. was going by the template posted -1.15vcore
Also make sure you dont have a profile saved and set to load at startup in ET6. I uninstalled it.

Thanks for the settings. Will try them once i have taken one pair of ram out.
The small FTT`s i started is still running strong so i really think it is a ram problem.

I have only used ET6 to monitor and compare my settings to others. I have also set it not to load automatically because it used almost one cpu on its own just idling.
Will uninstall it now just to make sure.

I got into the windows boot options screen and my Vista became corrupt.
Something about missing a winload.exe or something (maybe my RAID is acting up). But i managed to boot into my win xp64 fine. It kept getting stuck in windows so i upped the cpu voltage one notch at a time until it let me into windows properly (Which ended up being 1.4v bios/ 1.36v in windows)

I am now running Prime Blend for 15 minutes without an error yet with all 8Gigs:yepp:. Which is a great start.

One silly question, how do you change performance level with this board? I don't see it anywhere. I'm on F9 bios. Thanks in advance.

Thank you. Just so use to Asus board. Still figuring out whether I like this board or the P5Q-E better. So far the P5Q-E give me higher overclock compare to the UD3P with my Q6600. Need to play around more with the UD3P setting.

I am not sure how well it shines with 65nm Quads, but i think it is with the 45nm Qauds that it really works well.

But as i have seen the right settings make a world of difference.

Ugh I keep watching good advice go by in here... I'm not gonna mess with my OC further until my build is totally done, and that means 1 RMA'd vid card, 2 kits of RAM RMA'd, and once those are done, 2 more kits of RAM purchased and delivered. Arrgh... I just need to remember that my build will be great, I'll just keep telling myself that and it will all be ok... :P

You may be able to get vcore down by going up on vtt. You said your chip liked vtt. I haven't needed more than 1.320v vtt but my highest vid CPU is 1.250v . In a lot of cases the high vid CPU's run cooler.

Well, it always blows when your wrong. I don't have Everest installed. But I ran a few 32m pi and PL8 is faster everytime than Extreme at PL9. I initially did some 4m pi and it was faster with Extreme, but doing 32m PL8 Turbo was faster.

hi, guys. It's possible it, that the q9550-em giga byte ep45-ud3p went better into a motherboard than ep45-ds3r-in? Into this the ds3r-in simply win blackness is receiving with the same settings only at a screen than ud3p.
somebody can tell it besides which one the best one q9550 on the forum? Possibly prime stable picture from him?

Some days before now, when I made a CMOS, I set all those settings I have shown you and... It wont boot. And I figure that the problem was vcore, just I have show you I was using 1.35v, now Im with 1.36250 and it is working properly.
But I cant figure why the first time I set it, it works fine... I mean excellent (almost 10hs of prime95) and when I do CMOS y dies, I think its releated with amount of volt charge or something like that when you try various OC, I got this theory because, as you know, when you unplug the electric cable from the psu, it mades a discharge...

I really dont know, and I made a silly theory jaja.:D

Pushing my Q9650 a bit higher.
Just tested Prime small, ran ok for several hours.

hi i wanted to ask if running a q9450@3.5ghz is ok for long use.
I used intel burn test 30 times on max and my temp went to 73c but if i use prime it only goes to about 58c is this ok for the temp or is it to hot
please help me as im not sure if i will burn it out

I don't think it helped much in games but i use cad software which can demand lots of ram especially in Vista. But 8 Gig of ram can be a real cow to get stable, so if it is just games you are worried about i would do it.

after running prime now i have it stable its going to hit 65c but i dont know what a (safe) temp is when overclocking what would you say

65c is fine. For me, as long as temps stay below 75c under small prime I wont worry about it since it will never get that hot under normal daily use.

Some say F4 is the best, some F7 and some F9.

I agree, I have found F9 to be quite good. But have not tested F4 yet.

What is the most stable (oc friendly) strap on this board because i have found 2.40b to be the best for me so far but while reading this thread there have been many people who say that it is very buggy?
