can someone tell me where to buy a newark in germany? Thanks!!
currenly, vandi423 is the only place (person in this case ;)) that you can get one from. perhaps you should PM him and ask about international shipping?
I really think you should have kept your name. Anyway, as far as mobile 3700+'s go, my rampant lack of hose clamps have been remedied, and my waterblock lapped. I still haven't had time to assemble a test loop. Also, my eheim 1250 is quite loud... the noise itself isn't that bad, but the vibration is off the hook! I think I'll be in the market for a new pump shortly. :(
Okay guys I need your help again. I'm seriously thinking of putting mine under single phase change. Chilly1's unit's are looking very, very nice (sorry) lol.
Problem is, I have no experience using one. Is it not a good idea to use one of these on a lidless A64? Especially for an evap noob? :stick:
i have a 1250 also, but when i set it up im thinking about just putting some insulation rubber like the stuff used for phase change beneath it and the case, that should stop some of the vibration.Quote:

posted mostly for conrad, but whoever wants to see how this thing does cache-wise at 2.8ghz, enjoy ;)
as a side note, my WC loop is built and leak-tested. i'll either be putting it in tonight if i get bored within the next 1/2 hour, or tomorrow morning. i put up pictures of the finished setup :toast:
Shentech ships worldwide.Quote:

nice, now someone needs to buy the 3400+ and see if it's similar! :D:DQuote:

ozzimark - Thanks for the PM and fulfilling my request. I'll compare my scores against yours using the same multiplier and HTT when I get home. At 2900MHz, I recall my score being much lower. It was actually the lowest score on the graph. So now we know how two cracked little chips can affect cache performance. ;)
i changed two of the lines to the fx-53 and 51 because i was curious to see how it compared to the other cores. before i did that, i was being pwned by xeons and 3.8ghz p4's :p
Nice! $353 and $20 for US ground shipping. They must have bought the first batch of 3400s. I wonder who bought the others.Quote:

Nobody have tried a 3400 newark? :welcome:
looks nice spartacus, you have a UPMW batch code. i wonder if it's any different that the DPMW's that a few of us, including myself have. eta on some OC'ing? :toast:

enjoy your stay here at XS :D
and no, not yet. wanna be the first?! :):)
Mine's WPMW, and it has a golden "T" on the corner of th PCB, as opposed to this guy's "N". Nobody knows that these things mean, though.. :P
hehehe thanks ozziQuote:

My Corsair 3200XL (512x2) memory is starting to give me fits over 250FSB, so I'll have to figure out what it wants to go higher. I was limited by the mem controller on my old 3400+ CPU and am not used to being able to run mem over 240FSB. :)
Initial testing looks like 2800 (233x12) is still very stable but then this Newark starts to get hungry for more volts going higher. I'm guessing it will hit the thermal limit pretty soon though. The XP-90 (non "C") is working well, but my case is a smallish home theater case (Ahanix/Dvine D4) that runs a bit on the warm side. I'm sure I'd need better cooling to be stable in the 2900-3G range.
Very nice chip though, I'm really happy with it. Thanks for putting us on to how good these chips are! :)
My DFI should be back by Monday!
Weeeeeeee!
well, i've got my WC loop running. two wimpy fans for now cause the sunon's make a bit too much noise for my liking. i'll figure out how to quiet them down some tomorrow. an obligatory pic, and an update on the speed, it seems to top out at ~2.78ghz with 1.45v, and it seems to be stable. not sure how much headroom i have left though, but it's definitly a huuuuge improvement over the 2.7 ghz of air cooling
load temp from the diode is 34c. previous testing with an external sensor makes me think this number is dead on :toast:
obligatory pic of setup follows
Mine's much prettier than yours! Also, way more expensive :(. I think my rad cost as much as most of your setup lol.
Welcome to waterworld ozzi, nice pipes. :toast:Quote:

thanks xeno! it seems to have more of an effect at lower voltages interestingly enough. i'm priming at 1.55v and 2863mhz now.. i guess that's better than my 1.57v and 2.85ghz allllmost stable with air :) :toast:Quote:

i just need to add a few mot fans in random spots.. like the PWMIC is up to 40c, and i'm not to happy about that cause it rarely went over 30c before. lack of airflow in the area :(
I've got one, but my DFI nF3 is back at RMA right now. As soon as I get it back, I'm putting it under a Swifty 6000 with 2x120mm radiator. Hopefully I should get some good numbers out of it. I'll post when I do. :DQuote:

Awesome, someone with a 3400. I'm very interested in your results for the 3400+, as it's $100 less than Ozzi's 3700+ and it hopefully hits the same ballpark. Get those posted up ASAP. :woot:
